Absolutely horrific experience with Jackson-Stops Weybridge Lettings. We agreed to rent a property for the family to relocate close to a new school for our children in Surrey. Everything seemed fine, holding deposit paid, another 5weeks deposit paid, our move in date was set for August, tenancy documents signed and approved. Welcome letter received. Removal lorry’s booked, fibre broadband installation booked, new fridge to be delivered to our new address, trampoline for the kids arriving after the move in date and the day before we move in Jackson Stops pulled the plug and told us that they hadn’t really agreed the deal properly with the Landlord and he doesn’t want to go ahead as Jackson Stops had not communicated the details to him. Unbelievable.. we now have to cancel our move, cancel our child’s school place, cancel everything. We had signed documentation with the agent, passports and utility bills checked about a month beforehand.. if they had just done their job from when we offered to rent this house our lives wouldn’t have been turned upside down. We really feel that letting agents shouldn’t be allowed to affect people’s lives by incompetence and if there is an ombudsman or some sort of recourse, we will find it and make sure this doesn’t happen to other families.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

Is this agent underhand????

Second occasion contacting these agents ref a building plot that had fell through before in Wyverstone Suffolk. First time round I was told a certain chap/agent I needed to speak to was not available and he would call back. No call back I then phoned again to be told plot was under offer. Plot came back on the market last week end of June 2020, so my wife called as we were in the car driving past the plot. No call back again a couple of days later my wife contacts them online got live reply saying they would get back to her with info. Guess what no call back. So I phoned up on the 3/7/20 a couple of days later to be told plot under offer. Told we have your number if it falls through. Something not right with this agent be aware!!!!

A Breath of Fresh Air

Jackson-Stops went above and beyond my expectations and were a breath of fresh air in this highly competitive business. Mandy in the Cranbrook office was an absolute joy to deal with extremely professional, honest and the most helpful agent I have dealt with over a long period of searching for a new home. Sadly the house we are now trying to purchase is on with another agent who are far below par! I would not hesitate in selling a property through Jackson-Stops in the future. Just wish all estate agents were as pleasurable to deal with!!

Would have been nice to actually view the property!

We sat outside the property for 40 minutes waiting for the agent to show up, which she never did. When we finally got through to the office on the phone the agent who was meant to be showing us the property simply told us she had forgotten about us, with no apology offered - just a 'Can we do it another time, I can't leave the office now anyway.' A complete disregard for our time! Wholly unprofessional, and we aren't surprised that the landlords have been struggling to rent the property if the agent can't actually be bothered to turn up to viewings! We will be avoiding Jackson-Stops like the plague - and would advise any landlords to think twice before using their services!

Poor Leadership = Poor results

Philip Ribon in the Bridport office is extremely difficult and unpleasant to deal with and we reccomend you use any other estate agency than this one. He writes rude emails when he hasn't followed things up, blames the client and is ineffective in selling houses.
