I enquired about a property less than 12 hours ago, I’ve had no response regarding that property but 12 emails pushing other priories to me all within a 3 hour period. I’ve asked to unsubscribe but I’m still getting spammed! Unprofessional and enough to put me off doing any business with this company

Would never use Karl Tatler to sell my house

Put my house up for sale with Karl Tatler as they were 'supposed' to be the best agent to sell with. Our personal experience was very poor customer service throughout & a severe lack of feedback. It was as though we were lucky to be with them & not the other way around. Constant phone calls from us trying to get updates. Feedback from viewers was they had difficulty securing a viewing ! I would never use Karl Tatler again as I feel they are existing off their previous reputation. We sold our house immediately after moving to another estate agent who gave a brilliant service.

So far so good! Really impressed with the service, got some fantastic shots of the house and got it all up and live on social media and websites within 24 hours! Quick, efficient and really friendly. Special mention for Jamie having to put up with all my emails and summer house lighting obsession! Let’s hope the next phase goes as smoothly and we get a sale quickly!

Subtle Bullies

Initial meeting was okay - the woman was upbeat, affable and viewing the house went well. Everything thereafter was a battle, a chase, hard work, unsatisfactory, tiring and a bad experience. In the 12 month rental, my personal view is that Karl Tatler, although they bleet about being award winners (back in 2015 and 2016) they amount to little more than subtle bullies. They have little wisdom as to 'value' toward both landlord and tenant - they take on landlords/landladies who have not been vetted properly ... They do not fully understand or abide by Letting & Management Law. I will not use them ever again. My experience of renting a house through their agency was awful (and they bullied me), well, they tried to. Avoid these if you can. They may look all polished and top drawer but there are holes.

Bad experience

I was encouraged to use Karl Tatler for my sale as they were the master agent on the new build I was purchasing. Initial marketing and number of viewings good. They found a buyer who was presented as non dependent with funds in place 18k below asking price and I had already reduced by 20k however given his preferential position I accepted subject to a quick sale. Long story short he wasn’t qualified correctly he did indeed have a related sale and no deposit funds it took 5 months of me & my solicitor desperately chasing and trying to get updates, the sales progressor allocated to my case only worked 3 days and had no control at all was unable to get updates from the buyer or his solicitor and refused to answer my emails (93 sent 10 replies throughout process) I ended up missing 2 completion dates due to an ever changing scenario with my buyer which constantly contradicted what I had been told and incurring an additional 6k of costs throughout the process leaving me and my family out of pocket and stressed, not the service I had expected or worth the large commission. I did raise a complaint and was told they have been overstretched, however I am in the industry and the difference is we have gone above and beyond for our clients, stayed late, worked through lunches to ensure standards remained high. The progression team are ineffective, antiquated and unaccountable, save yourself the misery of having to beg people to do their job & sell on line. Had it not been for my solicitor going above and beyond I have no doubt the sale would still be ongoing or would of collapsed.

Dreadful communication, unhelpful. The sales progression manager did not keep me updated and should be sacked, what on earth does she do all day? Would not recommend to anyone. Infact after the poor service I received they wont get any business from my family or friends. Even on the day of sale NOTHING!

I’ve booked 2 houses to see on Sunday 12/12/2021 , I’m based in London ,is a 4 hours drive , non of the agents was there I’ve drove from house to house 3 times until realised that no one will come , office was closed . Second thing that I’ve realised that most of the houses that they have on the market ,the photos are done on photoshop ,to look bigger , One of the houses that I’ve seen only from exterior because the agent didn’t came , had parts from the roof in the front garden , and the window frame was rotten , in the description of the house they are saying double glazing :)) Unprofessional

One star is being generous... Been meaning to review for a while since we washed our hands of this company finally. We rented a flat through them whilst we were saving to buy. If buying wasn't already hard in covid times, it was even harder when we lost our mortgage due to an incorrect outstanding balance on our credit reports which stated rent had not been paid during a period prior to when we were actually tenants there! Unprofessional to mishandle confidential information in this way. Took weeks for it to be taken off, and caused a reduction in our scores due to a hard check on our reports. When we emailed our months notice, no one replied so i had to call to chase up. Due to the property being above a business, we had no boiler access and had numerous wasted workman visits as they never informed then. And finally on the day to hanging the keys back, nothing but a 'just leave them there' in a cold and rude manor. Nothing signed to confirm hand over. Then had a call a few days later to check if the keys had been handed back. A complete shambles from start to finish... We finally have bought a beautiful home, but if we were interested in a property in the future listed with these cowboys, that would be enough to put us off.

After asking on initial consultation wheather the property allows pets and mentioning we have dogs, we were lead to belive that it was permited to have them and proceded with all legal aspects, only to find out when it was due to sign the purchasing contract that pets are not allowed ( sorry cats are and only indoor). thank you for wasting 2 months of constant stres and over 2k in solicitors for false advertising. wish I had our conversations in writing so I can sue you!

Recently bought our new house through Karl Tatler and can’t thank them enough. Having sold our property (in a different area) with another estate agent, I can’t describe the difference in levels of service! From the house hunt where the lovely Clare looked after us right through to the completion of the sale (Di was fab) everything was great. It feels like they genuinely care about finding you your perfect home, and they go out of their way to try to limit any stresses that come with buying and selling houses! If you’re considering an estate agent, you won’t be disappointed with Karl Tatler - massive thanks again to Clare and Di in particular!

Avoid these if you have a property to rent.the lady that deals with the lettings is basically a liar and will swear black is white.even when the facts are presented. We own a few buy to let properties and certainly wont be adding more with these guys.Theres way better letting agents than these charlatans.
