Absolutely terrible. What a disgrace. If i conducted myself the way this company does I’d be under performance management measures. 3 or 4 times to return same forms and no updates. My recommendation is that they stop conveyancing or invest in staff training urgently as they are an embarrassment to the profession.

Please seriously consider finding an alternative Solicitor, regardless of your Estate Agent or broker recommendation. They cause constant hold up's, mismanage cases, offload the work to inexperienced paralegals, change the goalposts and are terrible to make contact with/reply to urgent queries (even when the Estate Agent complains to one of their managers). Their delays made me ill and nearly lost me my buyer.

Awful experience ruined buying my first homeBuying my first house from the letting company I rented from should have been easy. My Mortgage broker was excellent in getting a mortgage quickly offered and the sale of the house was quickly agreed. The same can not be said about Gilson and Gray initial contact was good but once fees had been set contact was non-existent. The phone would ring and ring, messages are not picked up and emails are left unanswered for weeks( in my case never answered). My house sale only went through after i and my mortgage advisor pestered and pestered and finally said that I would look elsewhere. The icing on the cake was that I was overcharged at least £150 which I have still not recieved back- after weeks of trying to contact. Not cheap, reliable or professional.

Sadly, I could not give zero stars.I was recommended Gilson Gray by an estate agent that I was buying a property through, however I chose elsewhere, BUT, the seller did go that way.It is an empty property and a cash buy, so what can possibly go wrong?The choice of Gilson Gray, that's what!My solicitor, and even the agent who recommended them, cannot get any response from Gilson Gray despite many phone calls and emails. We have been trying to exchange and complete for the last 2 weeks, but cannot get any feedback or response from Gilson Gray.I am also aware that the seller has sent many emails and is also extremely unhappy with the delays and service provided.Absolutely shocking performance and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.And, we are STILL waiting!Update2 days after publishing this review, there was a response, and a day later, we exchanged and completed 🎉🥂Was it the influence of the review that changed the situation?I like to think so.
