Guys!! We all know, how difficult it is to get banks to do what we need them to do, and when we need them to do it. I had previous experience with Clancys and i was happy. This time the banks decided to take extra long journey. Please belive me, if not Stephanie Morice i have no idea how could i possibly cope, she went the extra mile. We used Clancys Solicitors to sell my property on the outskirts of Edinburgh late last year. It was a property that we felt would never sell, let alone for what I paid for it. Buyers and Sellers BEWARE, Sharks, not to be trusted... This firm has many flaws, all of which are detailed in my complaint to the SLCC. I am aware that the SLCC does its best to look after its members, however, will inconveniance them to have to deal with it. To let you understand, there is a minimum wait of 23 weeks at SLCC to deal with complaints. This firm promotes gazumping, yes rare in Scotland but not at Clancy Hendry Legal. A minimum of 4 gazumpings in a 6 month period for this "small firm". I know of other companies in Edinburgh that sell around 10 - 20 times the properties of CHL and it does not come close to this figure. This shocking practice effects both buyers and sellers, in particular buyers who think they have secured a deal, but in the background CHL are still trying to achieve a better price for their client. Whilst this may sound good to their clients, it comes with huge risks and is simply not right. When the price has been agreed, both parties should be working towards getting the deal done, not one doing it half heartedly and at the same time trying to get a better price for the property. This is against a solicitors code of practice and is unethical. You have been warned, up to you if you use them UPDATE After almost two years my complaint is at the law society (the 2 year wait is to grind you down), yes the SLCC think there is a case to answer, but this is where the cover up begins. At first Mr Clancy did not respond to the SLCC, claiming he did not get their letters, so they pestered him to respond. Remember us public do not get that attention, we get 14 days, no reminders and that's it. So I am now battling with the law society who hold their meetings "behind closed doors". So the likelihood is the Law Society will side with their friend Mr Clancy, however trust me on this, this is not a reputable firm at all. ps... I notice a few people with 1 review have sprung up to boost his ratings giving a 5* review.... Yes, 1 review 5*... Hmmm
