Buying and selling can be a daunting…

Buying and selling can be a daunting process, so when I was recently selling my property in Perth, I contacted Aberdein Considine, in the High Street in Perth. They came highly recommended to me by a colleague, but they surpassed any expectation I had.From the first telephone call, to enquire right through to signing the papers was the most streamlined easy process.I was kept in touch every step of the way, with regular updates, which I could also keep track of online.From the valuation, the viewings, to the close of the sale, everything was done for me, making it a stress free process.I also received fantastically helpful mortgage advice during the process.All this for reasonable sum from which I received NHS discount, which made it all the more affordable.I would highly recommend Aberdien Considine

Re-mortgage via Natwest. No progress after 3 months.

This company was used as conveyancer for a Natwest re-mortgage. I feel both myself and Natwest probably regret that decision with absolutely no progress over 3 months later or any sign this is about to complete. Sadly all elements were in place aside requesting a statement from my current mortgage provider. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, there is never any response back. An email to their complaints also goes with response. There is not phone number for complaints. Their in website chat also has no answer to any question posed. Have now referred to legal ombudsman. *Note that Natwest and TSB have now been removed from their phone contact list!

Why are they still in business

I have had the misfortune of using ths law firm for a property transaction (their services are offered free by various mortgage institutions). There is a phrase "you get what you pay for...."They missed a settlement date and i am now facing extra costs, let alone the stress. You can't contact them by phone or email as they never answer any of the published contact methods, although to be fair i haven't tried a spiritualist/medium yet or carrier pigeon.Have sent a formal complaint to Robert Fraser who is supposed to be in charge of their property service practice - lets see if he cares enough about his firm that he is a partner in to actually fix a very broken system.If your lender offers their services don't take them up on it - its a life of pain, stress and worry.

Omg this same experience

Omg this same experience, missed the remortgage date, had to pay more. That’s what happened to us, they are the most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune to work with. Hours of my life that I won’t get back, hanging on the phone for hours waiting to speak to someone to eventually been put through to an answer machine. Leave a message we will get back to you, did they, no. Emails did they get back no. The outcome of this is they paid us back some interest that had occurred due to their competence. We were still out of pocket. Which I tried to explain to whoever picked up my emails ????? Could of been anyone of the few staff they employ.That was a response I had of one of them , they had 50 people in the queue behind me ??? . Sorry don’t take on the work if you can’t deliver. Your customer service is the worst I’ve every experience. I would not recommend you to anyone or use you again. Customers go else where if you don’t want to be out of pocket.

1 star is too many

1 star is too many! I could copy and paste these negative reviews as my experience has been exactly the same. Impossible to contact I have been trying for weeks. There has been no response to questions over email, and no return phone calls after leaving messages for team leaders. ( 30 mins of a phone ringing just to be able to leave a message, and still no response to it 5 days later). Just a complete disgrace. Stay well clear if you expect any kind of customer service. They refuse to communicate, whilst their customers are incuring increased monthly payments, due to their delays. I have been trying to contact them for weeks with no success. Just disgusting behaviour from any kind of business let alone one you are trusting with your finances.

Don't get angry, take them to the Legal Ombudsman

I was allocated this firm for a remortgage. Luckily I have remortgaged about 30 times and know the ropes, otherwise I am sure I would never have managed to get to completion. Aberdein Considine only emailed me twice throughout the whole process, both times when I had asked them to. They never phoned me. Completion was delayed and all I was asking for was an apology and compensation for the extra interest I'd had to pay by going on to the variable rate - this was under £100. No, they said. I made an official complaint. No, they said. Barely bothered to be civil. I went to the Legal Ombudsman. This service is free for the end user. Aberdein Considine had to pay £400 for the investigation and then spend time and effort on it. The Legal Ombudsman found in my favour and felt I was owed £250. Great! I said. No, Aberdein Considine said. So it went to a higher level at the Ombudsman, who agreed with the first decision. So I got more than I had even asked for, Aberdein Considine had to waste time and energy and possibly had their Public Indemnity Insurance affected, all for refusing to pay me a small sum and apologise. These people don't care about the customer. Don't just write a poor review, take them to the Ombudsman if you feel they've not communicated with you, they've delayed your matter, or if they haven't acted upon your instructions. It's the only way to make them change their systems and their behaviour. They are absolutely shocking. As an aside, the Legal Ombudsman was fantastic. Impartial and thorough.

It’s been three years since Aberdein Considine supported me and my family… For any of you going through what I once was, April and her team here will support you. Very scary experience for me and my son being a dad and his boy. Trust the process, stand by what your believe in… be you! Aberdein Considine was and have been amazing went over an above what was expected, I worked with a lady called April and she supported our family from the very beginning. There is more to the court process for any newbies like me it’s a scary and horrendous experience but April and her team looked after us every step of the way…. The week towards the actual closing date was handled deftly by the team. Morven was attentive and supportive. The selling of the property went less well in that there would be weeks gone by when we didn't hear from anyone.
