This was a second home and therefore I don’t live in the area. I met an agent for the initial inspection and discussion and everything after that was done online. This saved me so much in travelling time etc and was so easily done. I was kept very well informed at every stage during the process and any comments or queries I had were dealt with immediately. Mediocre. I was assigned Aberdein Considine by Natwest as part of their remortgage offer of free legal fees. Had I been given the choice, knowing what I know now, I would have chosen another conveyancer. The good bits - remortgage was straightforward as my circumstances allowed no complications and therefore the process was straightforward and completed in good time.The not so good - do not expect any communication from Aberdein Considine throughout the process. They will not contact you unless you chase them, and even then, it's random as to whether they actually bother replying. For example - no confirmation of receipt of any documentation whether it be uploaded online or sent by post, no confirmation of mortgage offer received or any communication regarding any sort of confirmation of contact from Natwest to me or Aberdein Considine, no confirmation of any dates i.e. completion (had to be chased), once remortgage was completed and funds released to Aberdein Considine, I had to chase to get MY money sent to me, and even now having received the funds I have yet to receive any communication to confirm as such from Aberdein Considine. Overall throughout the whole remortgage process I have received 3 emails - one asking to confirm who I am (no follow up from Aberdein Considine), one sending me the target completion date (after me chasing), and one apologising for missing the completion date (after me chasing on the day of the first target completion date).So overall, they do what is required, but don't expect anything in the way of customer service or any proactive communication on their part.

This leasing agent failed to effectively manage a buy to let property on my behalf. I frequently had to remind them they were to represent me and not just tenants; The agnet failed to transfer utility bills in to tenants names leaving me with their debt; they failed to provide accurate inspection reports and consequently property was returned damaged - double glazing window, walls and one carpet. The tenants defaulted on rent and through that period I had to encourage agent to actively manage the situation. This they failed to do - no forwarding address was obtained for either tenant; the property was returned in an uninhabitable state, rooms were littered with belongings tenants could not be bothered to move and 6 car loads of discarded belongings were left for me to clear. When I asked the agent about the state of the property on return of keys I was advised "it is not as clean as you would wish". Seriously the toilet alone was like a scene from trainspotting. Landlords beware! Aberdein and Considine are a nightmare to work with and quite ineffective as property managers.

We are sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction. Unfortunately letting property is not without risk for landlords, which we do our utmost to minimise. On this occasion the tenant failed in their obligations resulting in the property not being left to the standard expected. They also left withou t providing forwarding details despite being asked for it. It is clear that a breakdown in the tenants personal relationship resulted in the tenancy falling into rental arrears. Whilst we appreciate this will be of little consolation to you, we do believe our rental collection service to be robust, which is the reason why the number of properties under our management, affected by arrears, is less than 1%. We do of course sympathise with your position and fully recognise the reasons for your frustration and anger. However, as previously indicated, we feel that the situation is entirely due to the tenants actions. In an effort to minimise further the risks to landlords, we have recently launched a guaranteed rent service meaning when tenants do not pay, the rent is still paid to landlord.

It has been over 4 months since I started my 'simple' re-mortgage with this company, and I am STILL waiting for them to release MY money. I have spoken to someone different almost every time I call, been passed around, ignored and delayed. I should have had my money sent by cheque last week, but, after I called to chase them up, I have now been told there is a glitch in the system and the payment hasn't even been sent!! I have been charged £200 every month in late charges so the whole process has cost me nearly £1000 and now they are also asking me to pay for the privilege of having the money transferred into my account. An absolute joke and I hope neither myself or anyone I know has to ever deal with this company again

STILL Apalling!!! My remortgage was in 2022...yet 8th May I receive an email from AC saying because they did not check my mortgage deed properly it needed to be re-signed. The Land registry informed them on 27th March saying in 20 days the deed woudl be cancelled if no response. I received an email from AC on 8th May, 6 weeks later. They are lazy, incompetent, arrogant and useless. DO NOT TOUCH THEM!!!
