GDPR breach and passive aggressive emails - AVOID CONNELLS AT AL COSTS

I am receiving passive aggressive emails from Connells 5 years after they made my house purchase 10x harder than it needed to be despite being told my information had been removed from their databases in line with GDPR regulations- clearly they cannot even manage that. As a first time buyer I was given a terrible deal as I unfortunately did not know any better- if you are a first time buyer, or really any buyer, AVOID CONNELLS.

All in all, a great team at Connells East Grinstead. We initially called them in to value our property after viewing a house with them. When viewing, Jonny impressed us initially with his professional, non-pushy and friendly approach. Equally, when valuing our property, Daniella impressed us with her understanding of the market and, unlike several other agents, she really ‘got’ our rather unusual property. Her valuation was spot on and Connells achieved an asking price offer within a couple of weeks, with Jonny going above and beyond to secure us a good deal. Like all estate agents

Like all estate agents, they are vague and not capable of providing buyers with the required information. Basically estate agents book in a handful of viewings, act as a path through to portals like Rightmove and that’s it. The house sells itself, not the agent. They just collect commission for hardly any work.

Recent valuation

I recently had a valuation carried out by Steve Mather, from previous experience I wasent full of confidence with Connells however Steve did a superb job , he hit the nail on the head with the valuation and the rent figures and it was exactly what was put forward, I wish more surveyors where like Steve. I hope he gets this feedback and I hope I get him again on future projects. 10/10

This is the worse most unprofessional…

This is the worse most unprofessional low class company I’ve had the misfortune to deal with in 50 years. They will do absolutely anything to wriggle and negate any responsibility when things go wrong, which they will I assure you.. do yourself a favour and steer well clear . They don’t deserve one star, the higher up the chain you go the more incompetent it gets. Awful, terrible service. I spoke to the police about the incident and the Seargent said “ oh they’re terrible , we’ve had problems.”

Awful customer service

Awful customer service! During my remortgage they never answered phonecalls nor responded to emails and they promised they'd pass the message onto the mortgage advisor time & time again, but nothing ever happened. After complaining about my mortgage advisor Ralph Wilkinson things only improved slightly as he still continued to ignore all my phonecalls but would just send a vague email in response. This was an incredibly stressful experience and I would say definitely avoid!

I loved the property on their site

I loved the property on their site, I asked for viewings on 31 ist of January, I was asked to view the property on a Saturday 05 of February, the key lock wasn't working I was asked to go back and view on 12th of February, after viewing we were told that we would get a phone call with landlords approval or not, then I got a phone call from the Connels, asking me how much I was gonna give to them i told the the price, and if it was long therm wich I agreed.No phone call from the Landlords approval or denial, I called the Connels twice on 12th and 13th of February,her colleagues told me: the first time the lady how show us flat was busy, the second time she was out, on 14th of February I checked the site and the Status was "let agreed "; later i was told that the flat was given to someone else. No common sense from the Connels to tell us the good or bad news before their changed the flat status on Google and let's find out this way.No common sense from the ConnelsI was wondering let agreed by whom?

Disappointing Experience with Connells Estate Agency

Unfortunately there is no option to leave no stars. Our experience with Connells Estate Agency has been disappointing and frustrating. Despite choosing to seel our house with them due to their familiarity, we encountered poor communication and unprofessionalism throughout the process. From inaccurate advice provided by their mortgage advisor which led to delays and unnecessary stress and wasting money on our part, to feeling pressured to accept offers from investors, it became clear that our interests as clients were not prioritised. Despite assurances, the agency failed to address our concerns effectively, leaving us with a lack of confidence in their reliability and credibility. Overall, if you want to have a stress free, professional sale DO NOT choose Connells to present your home to the market!

Fantastic, 1st class service! I was extremely impressed with the service that I received from the Connells Lettings Department here in East Grinstead, I have used a number of Lettings agents in the past and Lesley who is the Lettings Manager and Ben the negotiator at the time and also a few years ago another very good lady negotiator who worked there, provided me outstanding service in every way. Friendly, extremely professional, extremely knowledgeable and hard working to provide me the best possible service, if only the other Letting agents could take a leaf out of their book! I 100% recommend Lesley to anyone, she is by far the best letting agent I have used, a valuable asset to the company. Thanks for all your help over the years Lesley. I would also like to add that it was great to deal with a more mature employee within the Connells group who took great care and pride in her work and was fully focused on what she was doing for me.

Ghosting I believe has happened rental property agent never replied back to me for ages then say not accepting my application affordability was there, taken all my time to gather all they needed and if this was a problem could have ask for a guarantor i have asked for all my documents to be removed and be deleted in my opinion appalling please be aware .

Poor service letting a property.

Just watched a investigation by panorama on connells estate agents which was very concerning, highlighting the company dishonesty. I went to connells in kingswood Bristol to let out a property. The letting agent seem to know what he was doing. Definitely had the talk but unfortunately did not have the walk. When he posted the property on rightmove website. The photographs of the property were horrendous!!! The photos were so blurry and poor they looked like a 10 year old had taken them. No video as promised. As soon as I seen them, I demand they be taken down before futher damage was done. I was assured this would corrected. When chasing them up the next day I discovered they had replaced the photographs with ones I had taken myself and doing up the property. They failed at the most basic and crucial part of advertising the property. I would advoid this company and also watch the tv investigation on connells. Advoid at all cost unless your happy to be taken for a ride.

Bullied & Lied To!

Against my better judgement, I was persuaded to sell my house with Connells. It was the worst decision I made. One particular staff member was aggressive and bullied me throughout the whole time. They were only on the buyers side and did not help me at all. We were manipulated and lied to, and what is a stressful experience was made even more so by that staff members actions. I was on the point of a breakdown by the time we moved. I will never use Connells again, and would advise people to stay well clear.

Unprofessional and inconsiderate

Booked a viewing at a property In Drakes Broughton with Connells Warndon Villages - No agent when I arrived. I had travelled 25 miles and managed to be 10 minutes early. I waited for 10 minutes AFTER the time of my appointment, called them and was told she is on her way she tried to call you. A) she couldn't have done as my phone was working for other callers and was switched on and working fine and there is always text. B) it is the AGENTS job to be on time for viewers, they have a contract with the client ..I didn't wait , I have better things to do than sit around and wait for am Estate Agent that cannot leave early enough to be on time for a viewing - disgraceful and unprofessional.

Time Wasters

I booked in to view at property with Connells on Saturday at 11am. I arrived 5-10 minutes early, after a long journey and waited for the agent to arrive. When no-one turned up, I called the office twice but there was no answer, so I left a message. I eventually had to give up waiting as I had viewings booked in with another agency.

We are absolutely disgusted with the way this situation has been handled. We placed a deposit on a park home in good faith, fully expecting that we would be kept informed of any deadlines or time scales relating to the sale. The park manager had apparently relayed a time frame to the estate agent, yet this crucial information was never passed on to us.
