Dowens, in particular Sarah have been amazing from the start. I saw a property which was booked for a Saturday, things changed and I needed the appointment moved, this was done without issue. My partner and myself turned up and were greeted by the company's valuer who should be employed as a seller more often. He was brilliant, honest, informative and a breath of fresh air from other estate agents I had dealt with. Within 10 minutes of leaving the property we submitted an offer. Within 30 minutes the offer was confirmed and the ball set in motion for the purchase of the property. Thus far (we should complete in the next few weeks) the process has been smooth. Once again Dowen have provided through their agent Mandy Pledger an excellent service in all respects. Mandy and the team have been most professional since engaging them to sell our property. Indeed they have gone the extra mile to sell the property and have kept us informed at all stages of the advertising, viewing and selling process. Nothing was too much trouble for Mandy who responded to all requests promptly and efficiently. What is important to state is that they know the local property market and advised us on the appropriate price to sell the property, which they did and in the most difficult of market conditions (Covid!) Despite this the property sold quicker than we ever imagined and Mandy kept us updated throughout the process of the sale. Shocking experience! Mark Austin visited my property and stated that his estate agency charged more than others due to overheads such as his BMW! 'We charge more than others due to my BMW outside'. The day after, Mark knew I was going to call to confirm I was going with his company. I tried calling him 6 times at 3 different times and even texted him. Then, the next day I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt. I called the Durham branch, and was surprised to hear even his colleague said Mark was really hard to get hold of. During the sales pitch, "Of course we like to sell the £800,000 houses but the smaller ones are our bread and butter". Having finally got in contact with Mark, I asked him 1 question that I needed answering before confirming putting my house up with them. He said he would find out the answer and get back to me. 5 days later still im still waiting. I have decided to go with a company with a good reputation also but cheaper and answer the phone and emails straight away. Only go with Dowen if you like throwing money away and your house price is high enough to keep them interested.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism, Value

Simply amazing customer service from Jennifer and Mandy!!! Over a period of 7/8 months the sale for my house fell through..... twice! Both collapses were with the buyers and there was no fault associated to Dowen. During the first 2 'nearly' sales and the 3rd successful sale, Jennifer and Mandy were simply amazing. The queries I was being asked from the buyers solicitors and the challenges we faced we on our side brought on by the impact of Covid, made the situation extremely testing. Although the situations I found myself in were not really for Jennifer or anyone at Dowen to own or take any responsibility for, Jennifer understood the bigger picture and supported me constantly. Jennifer was always in touch, keeping me updated and giving advice. Her professionalism and personal approach was simply amazing! On the 3rd sale Mandy was the lead from Dowen and, although this sale was not as challenging as the previous two, Mandy kept me updated on developments, what happens next etc etc. Mandy was brilliant in her approach and communication and key stages in the process which meant i didn't feel like i was constantly having the chase. If I every have to buy or sell again (which I really hope I do not!), I would go straight to Dowen without any doubt! Thanks again to the both of you, simply brilliant!

Good overall service from Dowen, and a quick sale. Mainly dealt with a lady called Mandy who always kept in contact with us regarding progress of the sale and as we were in chain of three, always provided ongoing information about the position of all the people involved, which was very reassuring. Mandy was always very helpful, answering any questions i had, promptly and professionally. I also had some dealings with other people in the office who again were very helpful. We were moving completely out of the area and already had another property so Dowen also dealt with some viewings on our behalf, which was another good part of their service.
