TrustpilotUnprofessionalism, Misleading Information
I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and misleading experience I had with Dorset Property in Wimborne. When I contacted you regarding the advertised flat, I was informed that an immediate viewing couldn't be arranged due to the current occupancy. Despite my strong interest and willingness to offer a higher monthly price than advertised, I was unfairly denied the opportunity to do so. It is particularly upsetting to learn that the property was taken by someone who had already viewed it before the viewing day we would have. Their handling of the situation reflects a lack of transparency and disregard for potential tenants. I must also mention that the behaviour of their staff was exceptionally rude throughout my interactions with them.

Thank you for your feedback. Our team were correct in advising you an immediate appointment would not be possible in this situation. With tenanted/occupied properties we are contractually required to provide the Tenant with at least 24 hours written notice of an appointment at the property and access must be arranged via agreement with the Tenant. A Tenant has the right to quiet enjoyment by law and this means we cannot expect them to allow access to their home with little to no notice. We are unable to identify how you may have been misled based on the information provided.

Dear Elsie, as per our email correspondence; we understand your frustration with regards to not being able to secure a viewing slot at a convenient time. I am sure you can appreciate that we receive many applications for all properties that we put onto the market. This occasionally results in disappointment to applicants when they cannot secure a viewing due to all slots being filled. It is sometimes hard to convey this to an applicant when they are frustrated by the system and we are sorry if this is the case. It would never be the intention of any of our staff to be rude or unhelpful. As a company we take great pride in being able to help people through what tends to be a stressful process regarding moving home and we hope that we may be able to help you navigate this in the future should you need it.

GoogleI (Whoobid) work alongside Will to offer online auctions in the local area. We have recently ran our first two auctions together and achieved two very good results for our mutual clients.

FacebookAfter renting through Dorset Property, Weymouth branch, for the last five and a half years I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone in the Weymouth branch for their friendly and professional service. All my, not too many, complaints and faults were dealt with extremely fast, they were never intrusive in their management and the final ‘check out’ was stress free! Also, I would like to say that my deposit was refunded within one working day. Many thanks and highly recommended!

GoogleI have used Dorset Property, Wimborne for 13 years to manage my rented house. All the staff have been friendly, professional and efficient. They have guided me through many tenants and the selling process. All issues within the house have been dealt with quickly and diligently, sourcing contractors and experts who have been good value for money. The clear statements have ensured the tax process has been simple. I live abroad and they have made the whole landlord experience simple. I would recommend them to any first time landlord.

We would like the opportunity to correct some factual inaccuracies contained within this review.
This property in question is an Annexe and as such, specific requirements determine if the local authority treat the accommodation separately for the purposes of Council Tax liability. This was the circumstances around this let. Dorset Property were instructed by the Landlord to find a Tenant on an Introductory service. This means the Landlord is responsible to set up utility accounts for their Tenant and liaise with the Local Authority.
Maintenance issues throughout the tenancy are the responsibility of the Landlord when managing their own property and not that of the Agent that advertised the property for let initially.
The Tenants’ Deposit was protected within a Government Scheme on behalf of the Landlord at the start of the tenancy. Any negotiations relating to dilapidation and deductions are the responsibility of the Landlord at the end of the tenancy on an Introductory service. Dorset Property were not responsible for any proposals in this specific case.
Whilst we are sorry to learn that this Tenant has had a negative experience after agreeing to rent a property through Dorset Property earlier in the year, the circumstances around the outcome are not as a direct result of specific actions taken by Leon or any other Employee of Dorset Property.

I was trying to find a property for renting with Dorset Property.
Jana · 12 July 2025
Agent replied · 26 December 2025
Dear Jana, Thank you for taking the time to provide details on your experience. At Dorset Property we use a third party to carry out referencing whom also provide the pre-application forms you refer to that ask about the rent you are happy to pay. The reason for this question is not to encourage a bidding war, far from it, this is so that we have an understanding of your budget should the property you are applying for be let to another applicant. We can then successfully match you to other properties that suit your requirements. From the information you have provided I can see that you enquired about a property we begun advertising in June and the following day were contacted to provide your details and a viewing was arranged in the same phone call. We can see since your review, you sent in a further enquiry for another property we were marketing and a viewing was arranged with you. In fact, you were accepted for a tenancy at this property, once we had begun to set up the prospective tenancy, you then advised your circumstances had changed and you withdrew from the offer. If you would be happy to contact us directly regarding the other experiences from friends, we will be happy to resolve any issues.

FacebookTakes ages to do anything. Tried to take around 95% of deposit when TDS went in my favour and awarded me around 90%. Did not communicate well as could of reasoned with me whilst the claim was going through. Did not look at evidence from check in inventory and check out inventory as many similarities. Used poor quality inventory reports from unregulated company. Would steer clear from this company.

We are sorry you did not have a favourable experience when moving out from one of our managed rental properties. However, as Dorset Property is ARLA registered, we follow a strict code of practise in handling deposits and if there is any dispute at the end of a tenancy we have to work through each stage of the process meticulously to ensure the dispute is settled fairly for both tenant and landlord.
When there is a dispute, we always attempt to mediate between the landlord and the tenant but ultimately, if an agreement is not possible, the dispute has to go to arbitration. At this stage the dispute is beyond our control.
In addition, it is our policy to always use professional third-party inventory companies, who provide first-class comprehensive inventories and schedules of condition. We are confident that the inventories for this property were of this standard.
As you can appreciate processes as outlined above can take some time and we can only apologise for any unpleasant experience you may have had.
Where the same review appears twice we show it once. We leave out reviews that name another agent or another of the brand's offices.
