Avoid company!!!

Forest Reach - MansfieldCustomer service shocking...7 months since moved in and still awaiting the majority of snags to be resolved after now over a dozen emails and false promises. Bricks can literally be pushed out with one finger due to being stacked on top of fake plastic bricking - amazes me how these builds pass an inspection...All managers do not take ownership of any complaints or faults, and directors unaware as they make it impossible to contact. If you want a house that is falling to bits straight away and nothing being resolved, then Harron Homes is for you! I would highly recommend to avoid at all costs and pay alot less money and go with an average builder like Persimmon and deal with the issues at half the cost.We have lived here over a year now and still awaiting things to be done, including bricks hanging out that I would class as dangerous!Company is useless, I would highly recommend anyone thinking of buying from Harron Homes to think again!

Excellent Customer Service at Brierley Heath

We have just reserved our house today at the Brierley Heath Development.Julie the senior sales executive is a credit to your company. Happy welcoming staff at Brierley

We came to the Brierley showroom and had a great chat with Hannah & Julie. Hannah explained all the properties currently available and answered all of our queries well. Unfortunately the plots that were available did not suit exactly what we were looking for at this time. However a plot was on the market already, so we have managed to have an offer accepted to move into one of the houses that were sold by Harron. The Julie and her team have been so helpful answering all the questions we have about this property and it’s history, and really welcoming us as new residents to the estate. I’m really looking forward to moving there and feel as though the staff are so approachable and helpful that I’ll be popping in as often as I need to if I have any questions about our property or the site itself.The staff really have a passion about the homes they are selling and cares about the people who live there.

We finally have our Dream Home.

Myself & My husband spent many many months viewing other Developers locally but we knew very early on in our buying process Harron Homes was the one for us. The quality of build in comparison is excellent, the standard of fittings beats any other builders and the professional sales team are an added benefit to Purchase through Harron Homes. With regular build updates and tours of your home, this gives you the chance to enjoy the build process of your home. As we lived in a Harron Home (rented) for 18 months before buying our own home, i suppose you could say 'Try before you buy'... The Site Manager Paul and his team are very professional and efficient. Kim and Julie have been a great support and we can't thank them enough for their time, effort and support throughout our buying Journey. We cannot recommend Harron Homes enough. We finally have our dream home!

Life in the Derbyshire countryside

Life in the Derbyshire countrysideHaving lived in our previous house for 23 years we decided it was time for a change now it was just the two of us. With only work defining our preferred area (children all grown up) we searched far and wide and found the Foresters View development at Crich. We met Ann Lawler, the sales rep, on a Saturday afternoon and she was so lovely. Explained everything to us, sent us off into the show home armed with the details of the house we were interested in so we could compare (there was no showhouse for our house). As there was only one available of the house we wanted and we were keen to pay the deposit there and then, but Ann refused to take it, she wanted us to go away and be sure, plus there was paperwork to go through the system as we were interested in doing a part exchange. When we went to choose tiles, kitchens, carpets etc. Ann was there to guide us through and was able to recommend what went well together. The only stumbling block came towards the end of the process, Ann was moved to another site so around the time of contract exchange and arranging to view the house we were dealing with other people. But, on the day of the viewing Ann re-appeared like a fairy godmother and has been at the end of the phone ever since. Due to some scaffolding for the house behind us, the builders weren’t able to finish the back garden fence. As a way of an apology Harron Homes (requested by Ann) agreed to turf the back garden free of charge.All the houses at Foresters View are built from Derbyshire Stone, which makes them a little different from the everyday new build and fits with the area. The quality of the kitchens and bathrooms in the house is faultless. We are looking forward to the next 23 years in our new house surrounded by the gorgeous Derbyshire countryside.

Thorpe Meadows Customer Experience

After having a terrible experience with Countryside Properties complete lack of care and customer service, we met Ann at the Thorpe Meadows development who completely changed our experience of buying a new home. Her warm and friendly attitude along with her knowledge of the houses, development and relationship with her team shone through. Nothing was too much trouble, even the little things like offering us a drink and a biscuit, in ensuring we got the right house and package for us. Our experience of Harron so far thanks to Ann is of a company that go the extra mile (we have already been sent kitchen ideas to help us when we make that choice). Buying a new build home

Organised a visit to the show homes at Brierley Heath at Stanton Hill. First conversation with Hannah , then a second visit with Julie. Both were extremely helpful and I could not fault their advice and abilities, they could not have been more helpful. Decided to go with their part-exchange scheme. Three visits were arranged to value our existing property - all were completed very promptly with no fuss and resulted in a valuation that we were very happy to accept. We then had a third meeting to accept their valuation and agree to the sale This process went very well, all the conditions of this type of sale were extremely well explained by Nathan and Hannah. I found all three members of Harron Homes staff to be extremely helpful throughout, with an appropriate mix of humour and straight-forward talking. I would recommend Harron Homes to anyone thinking of having a new-build home.

What an amazing experience we have had when reserving our first home! We went to have a look at the Harron Homes houses up at Thoresby Vale a few weeks back, since the very beginning we have had nothing but the best experience. Michelle is such a kind, caring and friendly person, we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. Michelle has kept us up to date throughout the process and literally couldn’t do enough for us. Hockley Croft

Moved into Hockley Croft estate in Boroughbridge in Jan 2021. The buying process was painful and stressful as Harron were desperate to get us in before Christmas despite our chain not being ready. It felt like we were being bullied into moving at times. When we moved in we could tell it had been a rush job on Harron’s side as the finish was very poor with lots of snags. Lots of changes of site manager led to a very slow initial response until Ivan Velchev arrived. Ivan has been brilliant. He has worked hard to sort out our snagging list as fast as possible, plumbers, joiners, tilers etc. permitting. He is friendly approachable, such a nice guy and prompt at responding to queries. We can’t rate Ivan highly enough. Please keep him at Hockley Croft!!Despite the challenges we love the house and location.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!We decided to purchase our dream home with Harron; because the estates and houses felt different to any other new housing development. We loved all the different house shapes and layouts. We really loved the location too. When we reserved our home, we were already told it was delayed, so we had no expectations of it being ready earlier. We did find communication an issue for a period in the middle, but once the new team of Jessica, Michelle, and Dave took over, we had lots of information, regular updates (which is so important), and felt they had everything in hand. They corrected issues that had been dealt with incorrectly, and kept us in the loop at all stages, they've been brilliant. The team of builders on site have always been very friendly and helpful too. They work very hard and long hours. That was the good part. When we got the keys the house wasn't finished and the painter was still in there. We have and are having numerous construction issues, nevermind the 4 pages of snagging. They don't respond to emails, and if they do, they don't fix anything. We've had to pay out hundreds for Structural Engineer Reports, and they still don't care. We're living in a house that breaches building regulations, and couldn't sell it if we tried. It wouldn't pass a survey! There needs to be more protection for people buying from these cowboys. So disappointingDO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

Looking to relocate to boroughbridge to…

Looking to relocate to boroughbridge to be near our daughter and her family, we were advised to visit Harron homes. On arrival we we made to feel very welcome by Fiona, after listening to my husband i regarding what we were looking for, now we are retired, she offered us the opportunity to look around the show houses to get a feel for the size and layout. Certainly impressed by the beautiful interior design of both houses we saw. A couple of questions about the site, Fiona wasn't able to answer, only due to her covering for the regular sales manager, but she quickly contacted me back with the answers. Loved the design and quality of the homes and layout of the development. Looking forward to progressing this initial inquiry further. Thank you Gillian

Hockley Croft, Boroughbridge

Hockley Croft Development in Boroughbridge. Moved in Summer 2020.Non existent customer service - they will smile sweetly until you've reserved your house, from that point onwards you will tear your hair out.Horrendous buying process, held to ransom from start to finish.Solicitors Harron employ are impossible to deal with and will be late at every key stage of the process.Site managers change with the wind. Some good and fighting with Harron to get snags fixed, but the majority just don't care.Works carried out by labourers instead of tradesmen with the obvious result of poor quality.There are good people involved, but they are by far in the minority. The houses are a great design and look wonderful in the brochure. Can't fault the location, or the neighbours but the Company is a joke.Every single house on our street has problems, ours is probably the best of the lot. Some are having to rebuild parts of their houses for the second or even third time. NB. As a little extra cherry on the top: Really enjoy the regular fights which break out between contractors in full view of the children playing on the street and the vile language morning til night.Don't buy.

Cannot put in to words how awful this company is. Please beware!!

I cannot stress enough how awful this company is and warn people to stay away, they should not be allowed to build houses full stop. The house itself that we have moved in to is fine (although lots of people on our estate are having a lot of trouble with various things) however, after being delayed time after time we finally moved in 30 months after our initial date!! It cost us thousands in rent and the constant stress of having to deal with the worst customer service team I have ever encountered was major contributing factor to me suffering from severe mental health problems. Fast forward 3 years from moving and the builders have left the site completely unfinished. We look out on to a wasteland which was meant to be a beautifully landscaped balancing pond and the roads are totally unfinished and barely drivable causing constant damage to cars. Do they care? Not one bit. They have our money so we are nothing to them. I honestly cannot put in to words how awful this company is, I don’t know how the directors sleep at night knowing what they are doing to thousands of people that have worked hard to buy their dream home. There is now a Facebook group of victims with over 500 members and counting, I bet that only scratches the surface. Fingers crossed that one day justice will be served and this company will face legal action for the suffering and distress they cause.

Communication is key

The positives - sales staff extremely helpful prior to purchase. I noticed there are many “5 star” reviews from customers at this stage. I personally was offered a £50 voucher by the sales team to leave a positive review. I politely declined this kind offer. The negatives - everything after they have your money. Even after we had exchanged contracts, paid our first mortgage payment and got the keys, Harron told us we could not move in for another month as it wasn’t yet complete. I will gloss over how we were left homeless for a month as things have moved on since then! I moved in to my home 5 years ago, and still waiting for the snagging list to be completed. There are major items remaining to be booked in along with half finished jobs, such as the replacement tiled flooring that was started in 2017 and simply left half way through, or the driveway that has been put down incorrectly with a huge trip hazard and not in compliance with building regs. All reported to you correctly well within the 2 year period for logging snags. And all logged way before Covid.The communication from Harron staff, well it is none existent so not much I can comment on other than to say it is more than a little frustrating when trying to have a conversation about how to resolve ongoing issues amicably. The state of the roads and communal spaces. The roads remain incomplete 5 years on. The pavements are an accident waiting to happen and I have emailed photos to Harron to flag the major trip hazards. The grass has not been cut in years, residents have taken this on themselves where possible to try and maintain some kind of standard. There are weeds growing throughout the estate, at the side of the roads and communal open spaces. In summary, the grounds maintenance is none existent and a far cry from the glossy advertising photos you are shown.There is also some major dispute going on in relation to the drains on the estate. However Harron will not communicate what the problem actually is, or how they propose to put things right.Are you aware of the discussion raised in parliament today 9/9/21 by Mark Eastwood MP where Harron were named and shamed for the disgraceful way they have failed to fulfil their planning obligations to new home buyers? It is a shame I now feel the only way to raise a response is to leave negative feedback. I would much rather prefer to speak about these matters privately. If you can change my mind on the service I receive I will happily amend my star rating accordingly. I await your response.

Having dealt with Jan at High Gables over a number of weeks, we can honestly say she’s been so incredibly helpful throughout the process of us reserving our first home. We’ve gone through so many financial hoops to try make buying this house possible and Jan has been there every step of the way, helping and advising us as best she can. All I will say about Harron Homes is the following: Read the newspaper articles regarding the Forest Reach Site in Mansfield. The article is in the Mansfield Chad. There is another article in the Nottingham Evening Post . These are damming verdicts on the Company the quality of the builds poor customer service with customers having been verbally abused ignored left behind. Customers have mold in their walls a cooker not screwed in falling on a customers arm burning her. Poor quality builds uneven fences poor road surfaces. Now for myself who is a customer who lives of the Forest Reach Site to put it polity its horrendous and if anyone is thinking of buying a Harron Home pop down and see for yourself. The roads are a mess uneven pot holes its awful. The street lights are diabolical the site is a dump. What Harron do is if they get a good review they reply Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our teams are always working hard to deliver our customers with the best possible experience.
