We Love our New Home

We have been in our new 3 storey townhouse ( Egstow Park , Clay Cross ) about a month now and we still feel like we're on holiday! 😊So many great things about our lovely new house. It is a brilliantly designed space , the house has a,broad entrance way and landings too on the other floors, with plenty of cupboards throughout ,a lovely kitchen with modern state of the art appliances , smashing bathrooms - quality abounds. We have simply been bowled over by our new Avant Home

Portland’s phase 2 beware

In a nutshell Not what it says on the tin . Reserved then bombshell of losing majority of spec . No floating sinks /vanity unit or toilets, no wardrobe to main bedroom,no hive as standard , no digital showers, different kitchen manufacturer, small skirtings, no dishwasher as standard,no garden fence. Internal doors and furniture lower spec ,the list goes on. Managed to escape just in time as found out through a friend who reserved after us ,they are now changing the windows to the second half of the phase and putting green balmoral to the front and white to the back. We were never told of this change. Have you? They have also decided moving forward ALL front doors are white and so are garage doors. Saving grace we have managed to get our £500 deposit back before it’s too late. Never have I seen a new house with different coloured windows . Our worry was would we actually get tarmac on our drive or would that be changed. Don’t put up with second best

Been in my home a year now and the…

Been in my home a year now and the standard of finish is terrible, I have been on to customer services at least a dozen times over the last 6 months to get all the snagging rectified and as yet not had a reply from the site to sort. After numerous attempts and no reply I am at my wits end. Don’t buy their homes as once they have your money they are not interested in fixing the terrible workmanship.

Worst builders Worst customer service after buying the house. 5 months waited for a washroom leakage repair and still no repair done. 100s of issues which you don't expect in a new build house. Broken taps Broken boilersDamaged doors Damaged kitchen Still waitinf for repair. Every day a customer service person comes to the house with a promise to repair. 5 months are enough to build a house but not to repair the washroom.I would recommend burning your money or throw it rather then buying a house with Avant homes.

Absolute scumbags. They refuse to finish the Balfour park estate in newcraighall despite it being completed years ago. Excuse after excuse. Get customers money then it’s a big f you. No avant customer would ever deal with them for a 2nd time

House falls apart and they Ignore you

This company is an absolute joke. During the sale process, they will respond in seconds but once things start to go wrong they ignore you. So far my property has had roof tiles fall off twice, three separate leaks with a major leak leading to the whole ground floor needing to be replaced, cupboard doors fall off daily, the wardrobe is broken, sink tap has fallen off, bannister rails fallen off and the boiler needs replacing less than 1 year after the property was built. The estate looks a mess and they never maintain it even though we pay a fee.The worst thing is they completely IGNORE you if you contact them with any issues. I have been waiting THREE MONTHS for a reply now.AVOID!

AVOID AVANT AT ALL COSTS!!!

Honestly avoid this company like the plague!! I'm in the middle of buying a house and the whole experience has been horrible,if I had realised sooner what was going om id have pulled out but my partner and I are now stuck. I can only blame our naivety on being first time buyers.It's very clear this company don't give a toss and have been bought out by a shower of cow boys who want to cut corners and cut extras to the bone to make sure they maximise profits. I'm surprised at this point they aren't charging extra for bricks and cement as an upgrade option!Complaints get you nowhere either. They have ruined this whole experience for us and I despise everything about this company and I can tell you hand on heart please take this advice and honeslty do not buy an avant house. Reading these reviews I dread to see what state of house I'm going to get and I expect no after sales care. The crap they put in is cheap and rubbish. You'll get about 5 same tiles (cheap and nasty looking)to pick from and the kitchens are truly grotesque. There's not one positive comment I can bestow on this horrid company.

If your thinking of buying from Avant…

If your thinking of buying from Avant please Stop!!!!!Quick enough to take deposit and let you buy from them. To actually get any thing done in the house is more stressful than actually buying the house. The products through out the house are cheap, the workmanship is very poor.We have a retaining wall in rear garden that looks like a 4 year built. Over 2 years with multi visits we have our garden wall started. They think that trying to bodge the wall will help. If any one would like to see photos of what poor workmanship is from Avant happy to show. Please, please avoid these don't ever buy from Avant. They are no different to Bovis, Persimmon and all the rest of them.

Disgusting experience! Been an absolute farce for the last 18months! Nothing is covered under their warranty and just tell you to go to the nhbc. Like anyone with a job or family has time to do this. Talk rubbish about excellent customer care but this is a blatant lie! Wish I would have seen the reviews before wasting money on this joke of a house!

No after sales services from Avant Home

Avant home always said the issue has been logged with the plumbing contractor who will contact you direct to arrange an appointment, but never someone will contact you. Reported the issue to them early after I moved in. Problems with radiator still not fixed. The two years warranty period almost expired. What are they doing? Nothing! Don’t buy their house. There are no after sales services.

12 months on from damage to my kitchen…

12 months on from damage to my kitchen work tops when we moved in. 3 repairs later and Avant have our once beautiful kitchen in a right mess.Miss cut work tops not fitted to the base units,massive gaps where you can fit your fingers down the sides.Unleave work tops sink not fitted back correctly heat sheild removed from the hob.Scraches to cupboards damage to walls and personal belongings.No updates from avant on when thus will be resolved.Poor service poor work manship of repairs Poor communication from Avant just left with a kitchen not fit for purpose.Avant are quick to take your money but as far as aftercare not quick enough to fix what they have not done correctly in the first place.Photos of the poor repair to embarrassing to post.Would I recommend an Avant home to family and friends well that would be a no.12 months to leave a repair is unacceptable.

Avoid! Terrible experience

Avoid! They promise the 2 years warranty of customer service to our showroom. Before the completion date, they didn’t fix all snags but they told us again we can call the customer service to fix it after we move in. We got the black and white email to prove that. But after we moved in, they just no show. Call the customer service centre, they just keep saying we don’t have this 2 years warranty, and keep saying we are misunderstanding. Also, the Regional New Home Coordinator just disappear and don’t reply any calls or emails any more. Before that I called her to confirm my 2 year warranty again and she keeps saying we got this. But after this call, she just disappeared. I ask her colleagues to call me. They say they are different departments, they can’t do that. They just avoid responsibility. We can’t found them. We make the complaint, but useless, they just keep saying this is showroom, no warranty included. It’s totally different from the sales team and the new home coordinator told us before. What a big company, but doing this, it’s really unacceptable. This is cheating. Don’t believe them, just avoid!!!! Be careful.They also didn’t give us the door plaque. It’s over 6 months, we just keep ask them many many times, they just keep saying will give the estimate delivery date to us as soon as possible. It’s really ridiculous. After so long, they can’t even give me an estimated date.

5 times avant has been out to fix a…

5 times avant has been out to fix a crack on my bathroom ceiling and 5 times the crack reappears after a few weeks!! Every engineer slates the last engineer for his work and promises they will do it correctly. Today avant have refused to do anything further for us after the site manager being a no show AGAIN!! Zero customer service and zero care for the money people put into buying their homes. Never again will I buy another avant home.

I purchased a house from Avant nearly 4 years ago and we are still awaiting repairs to be finished, and getting ignored by customer services. The sales lady was great, promised the world, as they do to sell a house. As soon as we signed the papers problems started, they were nearly a year behind schedule yet upto the week before we moved in they were still saying it would be ready on time, yet you could tell by looking at it, it was still a shell! We’d already sold and living with my mum so we were going to pull out but we were offered a different house instead, we were upset we didn’t have any of the fixtures we’d spent ages picking, but we had a house and with 3 kids, we moved in, the sewer backed into and flooded the downstairs a week after moving in, the finish was awful, plaster lumps, walls lopsided, scratched windows, electrics in the garage tripped, flat roof leaked, mains electric meter was put in the box wrong so it didn’t shut properly, we’re still waiting for this to be fixed, rain leaking into the window frames, which apparently isn’t covered, the grass died because they used no top soil, but apparently our lawnmower was blunt, the list filled 2 a4 pages. It ruined the whole experience of buying a new home, and I wouldn’t buy one again, trying to get anything done is like banging your head against a brick wall, so we ended leaving a lot of want needed doing and just focused on the big things, here’s hoping they’re fixed within the next 4 years! Save yourself the stress and buy with someone else!

I very nearly bought an Avant home at Purbeck Village in Warwick. It did not finalize in the end through no fault of Avant just circumstances.Through the process i have to say they were very helpful and friendly , id find it hard to fault their efforts to accommodate what i wanted. They let themselves down a little with a mega delayed part refund of my reservation fee but got there in the end.Special shout out for Rachael Mark-Leonardt at Avant who "held my hand" all the way through. If you can find Rachel you are in good hands.
