We couldn’t have asked for better support from Southgate’s during the sale of our property. Josh was particularly amazing, his calm and positive presence, combined with incredible efficiency, made the whole process feel so much less stressful. Even though we were dealing with Southgates from overseas towards the end, it didn’t hinder anything at all. The team were always professional, responsive, and supportive, keeping us informed every step of the way. We felt completely confident in their hands and would wholeheartedly recommend Southgate’s to anyone buying or selling a property.

If you need an estate agent who puts your interests first and is realistic as to price and is incredibly professional, then please use Southgate. All the members of the team are lovely and nothing is too much. I received an offer within 2 to 3 weeks of putting my house on the market and had numerous viewings in the fortnight before the offer. To top it off, I also purchased my property through Southgate and again, I was constantly updated and never had to chase Southgate. Plus the lovely Kate was in touch regularly during the sale and purchase. Definitely the best estate agents I have dealt with. Wholeheartedly recommend Southgate.

We cannot recommend Jon, Laura, Josh, Jasmine, Kate and the team.at Southgate Estates highly enough. We needed experts who were also patient and knowledgeable in dealing with my mother's property in higher St. Thomas. From the beginning we realised we were in the hands of professionals who also really cared not just about the outcome but the service along the way. They explained the current market conditions and how we could get the most interest quickly, and then they followed through with beautiful photographs, marketing, personalised viewings, and we went to best and final offers within 10 days on the market, which far exceeded our expectations. Kate was amazing at ensuring the sale went through to completion and the whole team were responsive and driven to get the very best for my mother. Selling a house is so much more than the initial valuation. It is a whole process which will need professional advice and navigating to succeed. I would not trust this complex job with so many moving parts to anybody else in Exeter. Thank you!

We went to Jonathan at Southgate Estates in September 2025, he put our property onto the market at a price we were happy with. Within what seemed like 2 minutes, they had produced well worded sales particulars with fantastic pictures, the brochures were really brilliant, so professional. Within one week they had a buyer for me at a very realistic price. The dedicated sales chaser, Kate Boddington picked up the sale and was absolutely amazing, kept me fully up to date on such a regular basis, informing me of every step & stage of the sale, she contacted me several times a week with relevant updates. The service that the entire team and I mean the entire team have given us has been utterly brilliant. They do not charge anything like some other agents who do far less for the commission. Southgates have out performed any agent I have ever used previously, we cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism, the attention to detail, the updates, the efforts made on our behalf - this firm are literally amazing - thank you so so much for everything you have done to bring our sale to an amazingly quick exchange or contracts ! Exceptional service from start to finish, without doubt the best estate agents in Exeter. Ryan, Kate, Josh and Jonathon were fantastic in dealing with the sale of my flat, which involved dealing with a chain, flat block management agents, consent to proposed works and a whole myriad of other items - all dealt with quickly and in the correct way. I particularly liked the fact that all parties in the sale were kept up to date and everybody knew what we were waiting on, a breath of fresh air versus previous sales, taking away a lot of stress! Southgate also 100% found the correct buyer for the property, who was committed and will enjoy the property as much as I have which is great for me to know. I will definitely use Southgate when I come to sell my property again. 10/10

My wife and I would definitely recommend Southgate Estates. We sold our house in a very slow market and they were committed to the process throughout. Josh did an excellent job of showing the house to potential buyers and answering their questions, and kept us informed with feedback after every viewing. Various delays on the buyer's side made it look like the sale might not go through at some points in the process, but Kate was able to maintain good communications with the buyers and their lawyers throughout, chasing up details whenever needed, which meant that we got there in the end. If you want an honest estate agent which communicates well, you should definitely have a look at Southgate Estates.

First class service. Easily the best estate agents in Exeter. Ryan was incredibly helpful and driven in getting our property sold. The whole experience was professional and had a touch of class: the brochure, the website, the advert and the video were all just miles ahead of any of the competitors. You get a personal and dedicated service unlike with the national chains. They took care of the whole sale and have excellent local connections that help with a range of house moving necessities. Kate was an absolute trooper: she was always on hand to chase the chain, was always responsive and efficient. You would be hard pressed to find such a level of dedication anywhere else. We are really grateful to all the team at Southgate for their help and would recommend them in the blink of an eye. A friend recommended southgate and I met Ryan who I instantly trusted so I signed with Southgate .It was the best decision ever my house sold within a couple of months of being in the safe hands of Southgate . we had a couple of bumps on the way but Ryan and the team at southgate were amazing always keeping me informed and my best interests at heart as well as the chain . I have just sold a property through Southgate Estates and I can honestly say they were the best estate agent I have ever used! I have sold a few properties in the UK in the last few years. Ryan went out of his way to help me with the sale - I live in Spain so it was really hard to get meter readings and anything 'on site' and keep a track on the property which was empty at the time - I only had to send a message and he was there sorting any issue! I really can't recommend them enough. Kate and Jessica in the office were great too sending ongoing text messages to keep me up to date with the sale. If you are looking for an estate agent in Exeter I would highly recommend Southgate Estates!

When we arrived at the property for a viewing, Ryan was already there to greet us. It was a large farmhouse with several out buildings, which could have been very confusing, but Ryan had excellent knowledge of the property and he explained everything very clearly. We felt unhurried and had ample time to explore the property on our own. On this occasion the house wasn't for us, but was Ryan was relaxed, friendly and professional and I was very impressed with the viewing process.

We cannot fault Southgate estates for their assistance in the purchase of our first house. We aren't even their clients, we are the buyers, however I felt compelled to write a review because of how smoothly the process has ran as a direct result of them! Kate and Ryan have been outstanding and nothing has ever been too much trouble, often with phone calls taking place back and forth after they should have gone home to resolve urgent issues to meet deadlines (for us the buyers!). All requests have been responded to promptly and efficiently and without them being so on the ball and not being afraid to lean on solicitors to complete promptly I think the sale would have taken twice as long. Outstanding customer service and we would thoroughly recommend you use Southgate estates. Thank you Kate and Ryan.

As a buyer I can't fault Southgate Estates in any way. Throughout our transaction they acted professionally and ethically. From our first viewings with Josh and agreeing the terms of our house purchase with David they were great. Special mention has to go to Kate, who despite the usual solicitor delays, kept our property chain alive! This was despite our buyer having some particularly odd (and inaccurate) advice from their conveyancer at Tozers. When their enquiries brought our house sale within minutes of us pulling out, Kate managed to arrange extra time with our seller so that we could smooth out our buyer's issues so the chain could complete. We're now very happily in our new home. Thanks guys!
