Put us completely off buying a new build ever again. Waited over 18 months for it to be finished only to find they’d added something that wasn’t in the plans and took away space. Constant snags and poorly made house. The customer service team are NON EXISTENT! Always being ignored, refusing to rectify snags (even though we are in our 2 year time frame) Started a complaints procedure months ago, even they are ignoring me. Useless company and not worth the stress. Stay clear!

2 years in now and still issues not sorted! collapsed drains, majority of the estates drainage is not connected, raw sewage in back gardens due to drains not being connected. roofing not installed correctly on all houses, air vents in lofts not connected, installing flooring on wet sub floors resulting in mould / damp, hollow pavements, hollow roads ( to the point a skip wagon went through the floor on the road) virtual tour not to spec as what people have received. all back gardens have no drainage therefore complete bogs, downpipes are tarmac'd into the ground with no drainage connected to them, customer services appalling and tell complete lies, fob you off or worse claim all things are to spec.even local authority wont take the site on because of how bad the estate is.the basin / soak away on the vertual tour was beautiful - trees, grass, metal fencing - people have paid a premium for houses facing it, however we have been left with rubble - looking over a scrap yard would be more appealing! no response from director levels. 300k house and its been a total nightmare! contractors are the lowest of the low, dont have no passion in the job they do! and as for the NHBC - how they even signed off properties on this site is a complete mystery - they too are not responding either and the majority of issues are serious health and safety breaches.thats not to mention the 'average snags' residents get with a new build. The entire estate are now getting together to source a legal team.

If I could give ZERO I would. It is the most soul destroying experience giving your hard earned money to this company. They treat you like dirt and don’t feel the need to even respond, the only thing they are experts in is ghosting customers.we are now 11 months into a constant construction site right next to our house not treated as a priority as its a showhome and not being sold. On our land under a ‘gentlemans’ agreement that involves no communication from Avant and no respect. Deadlines drift with no explanation and you have to chase and chase. they do a days work then nothing for weeks. Here we are again with a promise our front garden will be finished by the end of April and all they have done is dig it all up and leave it an embarrassing mess! Truly deplorable company. Avoid purchasing a home with Avant if you can help it.For anyone considering a purchase with Avant, just look at the reviews here. Almost everyone who has gone ahead has had a miserable experience after the shiny sales process ends.Once they’ve got your money you are no longer of interest to them. You might find there sales patter is fine and all will look good at the outset but trust me, run a mile before they ask you to sign on the dotted line.Their customer service is non existent. It really is. You’d have more success talking to one of your (probably incorrectly installed) doors than you would expecting any level of service from them.And I speak as someone who has spent a truly miserable 3 years as an Avant customer.I recently found my Avant sales folder tucked away in a cupboard. The slogan - excellence without exception.If I could be bothered suing for false advertising then I would.

Service is appallingWe have been calling Avant for weeks, you are lucky if they pick up and when they do... they promise to call back and that's it. You will not receive the callback. It's exhausting, unprofessional, and annoying which is a shame because we really did like their properties.

We live in the Carnethy Heights development in Penicuik. There should be a drain outside our property but there is not so any time it rains we get flooding. They told us the bricks would allow water to drain faster however it is full of weeds and does not drain. It’s disgusting and a drain needs to be put in immediately. Contacted Avant with photos so many times but you just get ignored. Absolutely shocking

The 5 stars are only for Laura otherwise it would be 1, if the rest of Avant had an ounce of her professionalism and dedication to ensure issues are rectified it would be a much more pleasurable experience of buying and living in an Avant home. Laura makes you feel valued and always goes above and beyond to sort any issues you have, she’s a credit to the company.

Customer service doesn’t exist. The completion dates aren’t true. They guarantee the houses are going to be ready knowing that they aren’t going to be done and putting people in trouble. Because of them the dream of having a family house became a nightmare. We are homeless now because of them. I wish l would have bought a house elsewhere. Save your time, stress, money and dignity and don’t consider Avant!

We are happy with all the services being provided by Avant and all staff is good and cooperative. I have purchased a show home which absolutely ready but there is no driveway construct yet.I have been told that driveway will be completed till February 21.Don't you think it is too much time to build a driveway...

Worst builder , worst staff . Builder not making agreement as per rera , he want nearly 60 to 70 percentage amount before plinth . False commitment by staff . Pls don’t buy anything in Avant .Trust me you will end up in trouble . Purchasing flat in Avant means you are inviting trouble. your happiness will go after purchasing flat in Avant .

TrustpilotMajor issue not resolved after 7 months
We have been living in our new build since April 2022 and since August 2022, we have been unable to use our en-suite shower due to the floor dropping and causing a leak to come through our kitchen ceiling. Avant's after sales support is non-existent and we keep getting fobbed off my different people within the company. If you are looking to buy a new build, stay away from Avant Homes!

TrustpilotSmooth and easy process (until you want snagging fixed).
We bought a new house from Avant Homes in Ellis Vale Armadale and we were extremely satisfied with the whole process. Starting from booking our initial appointment right the way through to moving into our new home everyone we dealt with made sure that we had all the information we needed and that everything ran smoothly. Particularly our sales advisor Rebecca, she was more than happy to answer every query we had and went above and beyond to make sure that things were running smoothly for us.The house itself is done to an incredibly high standard and we are very happy with our move.Update:There seems to be a pretty inefficient process in getting the snagging done where you are entirely reliant on people remembering to pass information on. If you don't keep on top of following up then you will just be forgotten about.The after sales service is a complete 180 from the pre sales service.

And today, after 5 months wait and 4 weeks of remedial work the botched up job has failed! Water pouring through the ceiling, so we are now in a worse situation than before - should have bought Persimmon, at least you know you’re buying crap through them

We were shown around 3 different sized houses at different stages of being built by Lewis at Skelton woods. He was very professional, friendly and informative, answering any questions we had. He knew how the area was going to be developed and I would recommend to others.
