As a first time landlord, Tony at wards took the time to visit me at the property and explain the options to me when renting the properly out. Where to start.........DISAPOINTMENT

Where to start.........Communication, there is none, we have had our house on the market for over 10 weeks and we have not had one person step through the door, with this we have not had any phone calls or feedback, my daughter use to work for the company many years ago and advised me that her boss at the time insisted that vendors are contacted weekly with updates and to have a chat to see what can be done to help sell the property! Thats the biggest disappointment, as i appreciate a house sometimes does not sell the same day but not hearing from anyone is not great!! Then when we would call the branch we would be told nothing is wrong with our house. We had a open house arranged, again I heard nothing all week, so I called the branch to ask how many people to expect, to be greeted with a slightly confused person who did not know anything about it. Nick the branch manager and Katy have been very helpful and polite but I just really feel the service has massively dropped from what we was promised at the time of listing and that is not his fault if the branch staff aren't on the same page. I also called a number of times on different occasions to be put through to the call centre, who again was polite but couldn't help me with my enquries, so how can a branch sell the house when they aren't answering the phones? Just very very disappointed, I am not stupid, I know things do not happen always quickly but a little bit of communication and assertiveness wouldn't go a miss!

My sales progressor ,Jodi Wyncoll, was an absolute pleasure to deal with once I had a sale STC and my dealings came under her personnel attention. Her communication was faultless, she had her finger on the pulse at all times ,and she oozed client empathy which I am sure was in equal measure to both buyer and seller. A very professional and committed individual who stood out above all others at Wards. In all honesty my 4 stars are a result of 5 stars for Jodi and 3 stars for the process period up to Jodi taking control . It all ended well after some unexpected complications to deal from with from my side, and Jodi should be commended for her role in my experience.

I have contacted in the morning agent for viewing the property to rent. Agent told me he will speak to the Landlord and let me know. At the end of the day I have called Wards agent regarding the viewing but he told me there is no updates and that tommorow he will be on day off so I need to call to the agency and someone else will help me. Next day no one responded to me and the advertise have dissapeared from their website and righttomove. No explanation, no calls back. Avoid by any chance this company. They are not serious and no custommer support.

I have never experienced such an unprofessional team that is at this agency. From the first impression, the lady was rude over the phone and late for her viewing. Then when I followed up, they had not picked up the phone when they recognized the caller ID and when I called from another number( 2 minutes later) after picking up and asking how can they help, they just hung up on me. We have put an offer on a property with them, and they have never got back to us to update whether our offer got accepted or not. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!

I saw a great studio flat on the Wards website and spoke to the Dartford Lettings team about renting it. I needed a place ASAP and this studio’s location was perfect for a commuter. I had all the money ready to pay including holding fees and also had good references to hand. The property was advertised as immediately available from 17th January and I asked for a viewing in January. However, Wards kept delaying it blaming it on the previous tenant not moved out yet. Consequently, I didn’t get a viewing until the last week of February (4 week wait!), which makes no sense as the property was advertised as immediately available in January! When I called/emailed Wards about why it was falsely advertised, they could not respond. The whole experience felt like a waste of time as in the end, the landlord chose another applicant. I wish I had spent the time looking at letting agents elsewhere. My advice to anyone dealing with Wards is to always have inquiries with another lettings company elsewhere as backup, as Wards can tend to let you down and waste your time. Really upsetting.

Intimidation

My Son and partner have just completed on there purchase of their first home together. I have tried to help them along the way as much as possible advising them on how the process works. I recommend mortgage advisors and solicitors that I have used over the years and told them to avoid using the estate agent recommended solicitors MARTIN TOLHURST as we had a very bad experience with them. I was then told by my son that Wards would only accept the offer that they put in on a house if they were going to use Martin Tolhurst. We looked into why this was and they are paid commission by them for each conveyance. They had no choice but to use them and as usual phone calls are answered occasionally and usually by someone who has not got a clue. This type of forceful behaviour needs to be reported and should not be going on. It was over seven years ago i made this mistake and I am still cross about it now . Shame on you Wards - shocking.
