I can’t rate Thornton’s Solicitors highly enough.Right throughout the process I was kept up to date with everything and given good advice from Jamie Lyons. I’ve never had cause for a solicitor previous to this and always thought of them as quite pompous and unapproachable which could well be the case with others but not with this CompanyJamie, although a true professional, was friendly and helpful throughout with a down to earth approach and he always asked for my thoughts on the matter. I now look forward to a very good settlement figure which he negotiated for me.Thank You !

Nothing is too much trouble for this team!After my father passed away, his home went on the market during lockdown and I am delighted with the service and advice given to me during the sale of the property.From the start we were given advice about what the COVID restrictions would allow and what they would not allow and the compassion that was shown by the team at the loss of my dad was evident as the cold reality of the sale process began.The photographer produced the most stunning photos of the house and along with the description on TSPC, it was not long before there was a steady stream of potential buyers. We were kept informed about all viewings and offers as thing progressed.On accepting one offer a purchaser was unable to bring their funds together and after giving them more than sufficient time the property was then put back on the market and very shortly after that another offer was accepted but this buyer wanted to conclude the sale before the 31st of March to avoid stamp duty. This put the legal team under considerable pressure and I am aware of the amount of work that was carried out in a very short time scale to allow the purchasers to take advantage of the stamp duty holiday. The house is now sold but the legal fees could have been much higher because of all the twists and turns the house sale took.I am impressed with the care, compassion, diligence and hard work of every member of the team we dealt with and it has made selling the house I was brought up in much easier.

I sought Thorntons for the settlement of an executry which required links to three of their departments, Executry, Conveyancing and Trusts to benefit from specialist experience. Communication was very effective in spite of Covid restrictions. I have been given confidence in them and reassurance in the process even when an accepted offer had to be withdrawn. Communication with other solicitors and the estate agent were handled very smoothly and without drama to achieve a positive outcome on a very acceptable time scale.

Thanks to Thorntons Solicitor, LLP at Thorntons Dundee I was able to claim some compensation for a medical matter. Right from the beginning I was made to feel comfortable with talking about what had happened to me and then they explained in detail what would happen next. If I had any questions or didn't understand something legal they were very happy to explain in layman's terms. They were able to settle out of court regarding my case. My conveyancer worked tirelessly to keep me informed at all stages of the negotiations even under the problems of Lockdown. She supplied helpful advice to keep me safe but accepted when I agreed to differ (on a minor point) and sought support from a colleague when things were becoming a bit fraught, i.e. when there was a delay or failure in the potential puchasers being able to secure a mortgage. I got the impression that she was not being given full information from the other parties, but she remained determined and supportive.I can truthfully say that at all times she had my complete trust and confidence and dealt with my business politely and cheerfully. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her.
