I recently had a valuation done by the Shirley Cubitt & West Office. Initially I spoke to Caitlin the Sales Manager who was excellent and took her time with me on the phone and she booked a time in for Mia the Branch Manager to visit me. Although I am not in the position to sell yet I cannot speak highly enough of how professional, informative and courteous Mia was on the appointment, she answered all my questions and I will definitely be returning to Cubitt & West when I do decide to sell my home. I would not recommend this agency. My experience with them was extremely disappointing. They attempted to charge me for defects and damage that were already present before I moved into the property, despite there being photographic evidence showing the condition beforehand. I found the way the matter was handled very frustrating and the overall level of service was poor. Based on my experience, I would not use this agency again.

I have been so grateful to have Abbey throughout the process of renting my first ever place, she was helpful, kind and never pushy like other estate agents I have come across throughout my time of looking. When Abbey showed me the flat I was pleased and fell in love it meets all of my requirements and more. Abbey is a great estate agent and a ray of sunshine a great asset to the company you guys are extremely lucky to have such an attentive professional as a team member. I wrote this review a month ago and now my opinion has completely changed, beware first time renters, run very inefficient, unorganised and no one takes any accountability. I was told to come into the office 9:45 to pick up my keys then was told they cannot give me the keys as the landlord has to look at the tenancy, sat in a cafe till 11am when I had a removal van waiting at the property with my belongings. When I applied for the property I said I get paid monthly meaning the end of every month I didn’t get the keys till the 27th yet my tenancy started from the 26th? And I have to pay my rent on the 26th when I get paid on the 28th when I told the estate agent this I was told I would have to pay an additional £88 pounds on the day to move and for the foreseeable future for being two days late! UNACCEPTABLE who gets paid on the 26th? Ridiculous! Then to top it all off no contact with the landlord, I was told if they don’t hear from him to come at 11 collect the keys and only given one set when there are 2 tenants and was told someone would meet me at the flat to cut them, after leaving the office 3 mins later recieve a text to say the landlord will be dropping the keys NO where to be seen! And told I will have to cut them myself now I’ve had to spend 30 pound on keys and take time out of our ridiculously busy weekend to cut keys AVOID AVOID AVOID don’t waste your time or your hard earned money with this company, not worth the time of day which is a huge shame as the property is perfect. Blinds were also broken had to call someone to fix them myself! Was told it was domestically cleaned wasn’t clean even in the slightest it was FILTHY! Dust, cobwebs and spiders in the entire flat! It stunk to high heaven of only God knows what I had to buy a plug in asap as it was making me feel sick! My advice to landlord find someone else to manage your property! Spend your money on someone that is more organised and efficient.

I generally keep a close eye on priorities that matter most to me, and finding a rented property was certainly one of them in such a short period of time. Throughout this process, I had regular communication with Abbey, and I truly appreciate her patience, professionalism, and consistent support.
