Paula is absolutely amazing! I had a booking with Shurgard for my house move, showed up at the time they gave me, only to find no one there. I called head office and all they did was apologise for the inconvenience. I tried calling around all the local units, but everything was closed. Luckily, I called Big Yellow Self Storage in Croydon, Paula was due to close up for the day but stayed behind after her shift had ended and went above and beyond to help. She really knows her stuff and was a total lifesaver - without her, I would’ve been completely stuck with a full van. I’ll definitely be using this location from now on!

I have use a few storage places and this is the best one. They deserve more than 5 stars, the staff are very helpful and always greet you with a smile. Today is a bitter sweet day for me as I’m moving away from the area but if I ever need a storage facility I will be coming back to Thornton Heath.

This is long overdue, but had to share the really great custome service experience we had at Big Yellow (Thornton Road) on the 13/12/25. We are really grateful to Mark (staff) who made a stressful situation easier by going above and beyond to help us put things in place. Today, it’s our first time to take a look at what self-storage service we could make good use of. We surfed on net and shortlisted 3 out of that many providers in the area. We got response from Mark almost immediately after we left message for initial enquiry. Note: it’s Sunday! So amazing… Upon arrival, a man of sweet smile and warmest regard came out to welcome us and introduced to us everything in details about the services and took us around those available storage rooms of different sizes upstairs as well as on ground floor until one that would fit our needs… Not only about room sizes, prices and date/time moving things in/out are also flexible and of course fit our needs and expectations. I popped in on a random day to ask about storage space and prices. Laquann and Mark were SO friendly and took me through all the available options. Both these gentlemen answered all my queries and we came to a great decision based on my price range and finalised my storage space. So happy with my decision. I moved things in on a Saturday morning in January, and it was here I met the other half of the team in Paula and Kathryn who made the moving process so enjoyable. We had a great conversation on storage (and life!) and left with all the information I needed to use the facility.
