Very unprofessional rental agent. Very doggy. Said I failed my reference when after just 2 days. I provide 2 bank details which one was my salary account and they intentionally did use the salary account. Came back and said the other accounts doesn't have trace of income.They told me the Landlord is going with someone else. Please for anything you do, don't use them except you want to lose your holding deposit or they might make life a living hell for you even if they give you the house. They can do anything for money these lot.

We approached Bairstow Eves to find a tenant for our property which was new to market. Amy Rest was our main contact at the Purley office. We were novice landlords, so were very grateful for her help and guidance in preparing for our first rental. I have used Bairstow eves to manage my property

I have used Bairstow eves to manage my property for the last two years. However the deliverables that were set out when signing the agreement were not met, from increasing rent annually according to market rent, to making sure that licenses were in place throughout the two year let. I have both times went out and got the gas certification and then sent it over to them myself, this was a managed service and Ideally they should have provided this service if not a reminder at least. 3 months ago, I had asked for Bairstow eve to cancel my contract so I could manage the rental myself. After emails back and forth and now being ignored I am still being charged for an expensive service which I no longer want. I would not recommend the management service as it is pointless, collecting rent and their charges seems to be the only thing they are good at, which seems to be a centralised process rather than dependent on the branch it self.

I have been dealing with Kerry Walker at Bairstow Eves and as everyone knows buying or selling a property is one of the most stressful things a person can go through and i can honestly say Kerry has been a Godsend, every step of the way she has managed the one and most important thing any seller or buyer needs, and thats Communication. Every appointment every cancellation or communication and feedback with my tenants etc has been passed on to myself from Kerry , and this has put my mind at ease knowing that my flat is 100 percent in the best hands. I cannot fault her professional manner one bit and i would have no hesitation in recommending her services to any of my family or friends. Kerry is an Asset to Bairstow Eves in purley and they would lose an incredible asset to the Croydon,Purley Surrey area if they do not follow her way of informing the clients the way she does. We approached Barstow Eves to help us to secure a new tenant for our rental property as the existing tenancy was coming to an end. Our initial contact was with Marcus who carried out the valuation and prepared the marketing information. Following that our main contact was with Sophie, whom we found to be professional, efficient, persistent, an excellent communicator and overall, a pleasure to work with. She arranged viewings and sourced potential tenants until she found us the perfect fit. She also provided us with regular feedback and talked us through the whole process. Most importantly she ensured there was no void between the old tenant moving out and the new tenancy beginning. We would have no hesitation in recommending Sophie and the team!

Very poor communication & unprofessional experience. I would not recommend using the Cannock branch. Lack of dedicated service to sell a property when we are the paying customers, no faith in them doing anything they say, if you can get in touch with them the right person will never be there and they will be blame it on someone else. Disappointing Move-Out Experience

My experience moving in was smooth, but I’d encourage anyone reading reviews to also consider what happens at the end of a tenancy. In my case with the East Croydon branch, it took nearly a month after moving out and the landlord confirming a full deposit return for the payment to be processed. This required multiple follow-ups, calls, and chasing on my part. Communication was inconsistent, key information about what was required was not provided until much later, and there was little sense of ownership or accountability for the delay. I chose not to leave a review at move-in, despite being asked, as I wanted to reflect the full tenancy experience. Having now completed the process, I can see that others have raised similar concerns around delays in deposit returns. This was the worst part of my experience with the agency - while the move-in process was smooth, the handling of the move-out and deposit return was poor and unnecessarily frustrating.

Worst interaction and customer care I…

Worst interaction and customer care I have ever experienced. I am a new landlord and decided to rent my property out. After a week or so I was told a couple and 1 family member had offered on my property. I was told they were 2 professionals tenants and the third tenant wouldn’t be referenced as she was pregnant and not working. I wanted professional tenants only but the estate agents were well aware I was pregnant myself and I feel they have made up a story based on my circumstances to play on my emotions and heart strings! I accepted the tenants based on the information I was presented. I later found out by the tenants themselves that they had no children and had never been pregnant, this was completely made up. The story I was told was completely fabricated by the estate agent Karun and Harry, they took advantage of me. A few months after the tenants had moved into the property I discovered from my neighbour that 6 people were living in the property and not the initial 3 that I was told. I spent over 20k refurbing my property and it’s very disheartening to know that the people that are renting it out are not the only persons living in it. I booked in an inspection with the tenants directly and I was shocked to see several mattresses in the living room and next to the beds in both bedrooms! There was also a piece of paper sellotaped to my recently new and painted bathroom door which read, rules of the bathroom. It was clear more than 3 persons were living at the property. My neighbours have provided my with cctv from their ring door bell and I’m shocked. The estate agents manage my property however the tenants text and call me when issuesarise sooo what exactly is the management fee that I’m paying for? I have made many complaints about Karun and Harry to the owners of the estate agents, countrywide however these complaints have landed on deaf ears! I have made a complaint about the above because it has and is causing me so much stress… Countrywide who own Bairstow Eves have responded to my complaint saying that the references was a misunderstanding on the estate agents part and apologising… No resolution offered! It wasn’t a misunderstanding, I questioned the referencing multiple times and each time I was assured. The referencing process is very strict with any estate agent so simply saying it was a misunderstanding is a lie! With regards to the extra persons living in my property, Bairstow Eves have said this wasn’t the case at the start of the tenancy. Despite them managing my property, they haven’t offered a resolution or told me what they are going to do to make things right! I have emailed them today informing them the tenants are in breach of their contact and the estate agents are not acting within my best interest! The customer service is awful at this estate agents and they continuously lie anyway they can to agree a deal! They do not take accountability for their mistakes and also have an excuse. There owners countrywide have not been helpful either. I’m currently obtaining legal advice and progressing this!! If you’re looking for an honest estate agent, I would urge you to read my review first!
