GoogleAfter being left homeless twice by another local letting agent, we went to view a property with Northwood on the 26th August. We immediately said yes. Obaida was polite and friendly at the viewing and said he would do everything he could to get us moved in to the property ASAP. Our offer was accepted the next day and a move in date of the 2nd September was proposed. As I went back to school that day, we asked if there was any chance it could be 1st September instead. Obaida and Emma said they couldn't promise that as it depended on references being completed quickly enough but they would try their hardest to make that happen for us. We received the reference requests via email the morning of 28th August and by lunchtime, everything had been processed and the let agreed, including a move in date of the 1st. Obaida and Emma were both amazing and we couldn't sing their praises enough after making this happen for us so quickly! The whole experience was professional and smooth sailing and we'd recommend them, and Northwood to anyone.

GoogleWe had a wonderful experience with Northwood Agency in Crawley while finding our beautiful new home. When we came across a property managed by Northwood, my wife quickly got in touch with a staff member named Obaida who was truly excellent, he arranged a viewing for us within just two days and we had the keys in hand within 1 week.
Daniela was very helpful and friendly during the house viewing, making us feel confident about our choice. A special thanks to Emma, who made the paperwork process incredibly smooth and took the time to clearly explain everything in detail before handing over the keys, which gave us real peace of mind.
Even after we moved in, the Northwood Crawley team has been very responsive, always quick to help resolve any issues.
Thank you once again to the best team -NORTHWOOD CRAWLEY

As a company they are professional, courteous, knowledgeable and happily go over and above to help. Their platinum service worked well for us for years and then they even helped us sell our property while we are living abroad. We can't thank them all enough for everything, we highly recommend them to anyone

GoogleI have been using Northwood in Crawley for over 10 years to manage my rental property. The service and the professional standards they have provided over the years have been consistently very high. A very special thank you to Sue Hall the Property Maintenance Co-ordinator for her hard work and support she provided after a serious water leak required significant repairs and refurbishment to the property. I would highly recommend Northwood Crawley for their friendly, helpful and professional service.

GoogleThank you to Ben and the amazing team at Northwood letting agents. Ben was outstanding at helping us find a flat to rent. He made the whole process easy and smooth. Nothing was too much trouble and the transaction was completed really quickly and with ease , this was so helpful as we live some distance from Crawley . Thank you Ben and hope you and the family have a lovely Christmas. Geraldine xx

GoogleMy partner and I were looking for a 3 bedroom property for our son and little baby. After viewing a house we were happy with, we put in an offer but were unsuccessful. Obaida rang us on the very same day with 2 other potential properties that met our requirements, and we picked up the keys this week! We truly felt that there were no silly questions (I must have rang Obaida about 3 times within and hour) and Emma went above and beyond to speed up our references. When we collected our keys, we felt as if the whole office was happy for our new adventure.

GoogleOne year after having left the property we rented, I am still in shock at how Northwood made our time in Crawley miserable. Here are some events that we experienced throughout our 4.5 years renting in Crawley:
- Spent an ENTIRE winter with a newborn without heat. Northwood took every attempt to avoid replacing the boiler until it was obvious it required replacement.
- We suffered from huge mold issues on the upper floor. Northwood’s kept blaming us and telling us that we were not opening the windows despite the landlord’s acknowledgement of the issue. This caused allergies on most of the family which are gone now that we moved property.
- Northwood increased Rent on a yearly basis using their “experts” to assess the value of the house. Well their expert used the neighbor’s house as a benchmark who had indeed the same house size but omitted that:
o He had negotiated the price down
o His house had a fully equipped kitchen
o His house had a garage
Now, the worrying part is that one year after leaving the property, we were sent the cancellation documents of the next renters, including personal info’s. I had then a look at Northwood’s website to see our previous property. The pictures shown were those used to present our property when we moved in 6 years ago…
That being said and on a positive note, Northwood had been very helpful when it was time for us to move out. Taking this into account, I wish I had taken the decision much earlier. Indeed, having left Northwood has proven to be such a relief on all the family. Our new agency has the decency to rent good property and provide an excellent service when needed.

Tatiana Delacroix, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. Having looked into the details within your review I can see that the boiler has not been replaced and the current tenant to date has not reported any issues with the boiler at all. The only issue that you reported to us regarding the heating was raised in December 2017 and was resolved by January 2018, there were contributing factors meaning the boiler was working intermittently during this period so the contractor had to attend and repair several minor issues. With regards to the damp unfortunately 9/10 cases are as a result of the way that Tenants are living within the property. We issue 'Damp Prevention Guides' at the start of each tenancy and then again at renewal stage for this reason. It is very rare for there to actually be an issue with the property and our current Tenant is not experiencing the same issues that you were whilst in tenancy. With regards to the rent increases the Landlord is entitled to increase the rent on a annual basis in line with the current market conditions. Tenants are able to refuse the increase however that can often lead to notice being issued to the Tenant. If you would like to discuss any of the issues then please feel free to contact the office on 01293 515588

GoogleBE VERY AWARE!!
I've been a long term tenant for 10 years. After repeatedly asking Northwood to do essential repairs to the property, I had no other option then to get my local health & Safety involved. Once I did they kindly served me a Section 21 thirteen days before Christmas, clearly a (retaliatory eviction).
Northwood also failed or couldn't be bothered to let the Landlords know about the bad state of disrepair of their home. Hence now they have been served with serious Improvement notices from my Local council. Leaving them with an unrentable property!!.
Northwood have also hit Crawley news earlier this week regarding serving a section 21 on an elderly Gentlemen! ( very decent of them!).
Tenants and Landlords be very careful of this unscrupulous company.

GoogleWhile renting, they were lovely people, very well prepared and willing to help.
Quick response regarding the issue we had.
Of course they tried to charge us for stains on the carpet that were already there. £240 Good thing I took pictures from the beginning and also emailed them as well but, as any other agency, they are trying to charge you as much as possible for any little thing. My advise, if you’re renting, take pictures of any defects and email them to the agency.
On top of it, after check out, I received an Amazon package at the old address. I contacted Northwood Crawley and spoke with an agent at the office. They treated me with absolute disregard speaking with me but without looking at me. I went outside the office and told my wife to forget about the package. Northwood never contacted me even though the package was visible for weeks inside the house.PositiveProfessionalism

GoogleThe staff in NorthWood is not helpful and staff tries to put everything on tenant even for the things which are under warranty.
This is not the first time and my feedback is collective for the last few discussions that i have had with the Northwood staff. Instead of helping me the simple answer is that its my fault and needs to be corrected by myself by bearing all the cost.
Reply to your response:
I think you have not received the complete information regarding this. Its not about me asking that agent of owner had to clean the hobs.... Cleaning is very well tenants responsibility and am very well doing it. Actual problem was that without even touching/checking the hobs engineer concluded why hob was not working which is very strange. Same thing i was trying to make the staff understand that let the engineer properly check the hobs and if it comes out that its due to tenants mistake i'll take the responsibility but staff was not able to understand. And AM not able to understand that without even checking (checking is very big thing without even touching the hobs) how engineer can conclude that HOBs are not working due to this or that reason.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review however we are disappointed you have not found the staff to be helpful. The issue I believe you are referring to is that the cooker hob was filling the kitchen with smoke whilst in use. I would like to point out that this hob was only 6 months old. A contractor was sent to the property and sent us photos of the hob in question which was filthy and completely covered in burnt food. The only issue with the hob was that it needed cleaning and that is most definitely Tenant liability. You cannot expect a Landlord to bare the cost of cleaning oven hobs. This is called 'behaving in a Tenant like manner' and cleaning the property is most definitely the responsibility of the Tenant. If you would like me to investigate any other issues then please contact crawley@northwooduk.com

GoogleI would like to give 0 stars but unfortunately this is not possible!
On the day we signed the contract the branch manager was yelling at us as we were not fast enough with signing and said, that if we won't hurry up we won't get the keys! But this is not everything...at this time my wife was highly pregnant! But the branch manager didn't care even on my request to calm down! This is simply disrespectful!
I would recommend a seminar for proper behavior!
During our tenancy:
For fixing the roof (after a heavy rain it was dropping inside the apartment) it took ages till something happened!
Check out day:
I got a mail and was asked if I will attend to the check-out appointment. I agreed and went there - one of the agents then told me they can't go on with the check-out as long as I am present. Why you are asking then if I will attend to this appointment?
Nearly at the end of our tenancy:
Viewings were agreed and I went to this appointments. I don't remember exactly but it was 2 or 3 times that I went there and nobody came. I didn't get a call or a message that this viewing won't happen! And the "funny" answer I got is that my telephone has some problems - what?? On my answer that my telephone is working without problems I got the answer that the agents telephone has a problem or it was a misunderstanding - ridiculous!
Strange that this was just a problem with my number!
Before you will answer that I don't need to attend to this viewings: I know but it was my wish to be present. And a call or a text message is the minimum what you can do - at least in my opinion. And don't say that my telephone has a problem.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, perhaps a formal complaint would be more appropriate however I am happy to respond publicly as you wish. With regards to the day you checked in to your property. You had arranged to be in our office at 10am to sign your paperwork, pay your initial monies and collect your keys. The team had been trying to contact you all day to find out where you were and when they finally got hold of you at 4pm you advised you were half an hour away and would get to the office when you can. You were advised at this time that our office closed at 5.30pm and the check-in process takes approximately 1 hour so if you were going to be later than 4.30pm you would need to rearrange your check-in for the following day. You arrived at the office at 5.30pm (when the office was due to close). You were unapologetic even though it was explained to you that both staff members needed to leave the office promptly (for your information to collect their children from child minders). You were both advised that you needed to sign the contract as it was the same copy that had been emailed to you, instead you insisted on reading page by page (15 page document plus, deposit information, how to rent guides and welcome information). The staff did not leave the office that evening until 6.30pm meaning they had to pay additional child minder costs which Northwood as a company ended up paying on their behalf. So if they appeared stressed then I can assure you that they were, now that you are parents perhaps you can understand why. With regards to the issue with the roof, as you were advised on many occasions, this was the responsibility of the block management company - neither the Landlord or Northwood were permitted to organize any repairs. We kept you informed at every step of the way and even provided you with the block managers contact details so you were able to contact them directly for updates. With regards to the check-out, as explained in the check-out letter the staff member needs 1 hour to perform the check-out and you are invited to meet an hour later to discuss through their findings. This is common practice as the check-out must be performed impartially. You however arrived at the same time as the check-out clerk meaning you had to wait until the check-out was completed. With regards to the viewings, we have records of texts and telephone calls being made to you either confirming or cancelling viewings so I am unable to comment any further. Perhaps you could email crawley@northwoodwooduk.com to advise of a specific time and I could advise if a call or text message was made as all of our texts and phone calls are recorded and logged so it would be quite simple for me to check this for you. If there is anything else you would like us to investigate please email crawley@northwooduk.com

GoogleI recently found a flat through Northwood and I wanted to mention how much I enjoyed the help I received from Katelyn Byrne. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. I had previously seen a couple of other properties with other estate agents, and it was shocking how little they knew about the properties. Katelyn was able to answer all my questions, and she made the viewing and application process very easy. She was also very speedy in getting back to all my phone calls. It was a pleasure to work with her!

GoogleBen and his colleagues at Northwood were brilliant in making the move possible for me in a short space of time. As it was the Christmas and New Year festive break many of the organisations they needed to deal with were closed, but they worked around that well, and eased my stresses regarding whether the move would happen on time. I would recommend them to anyone seeking to relocate in the Crawley and Horley area.

GoogleAfter many years with a larger rental management agent, the service had deteriorated to such an extent that we felt compelled to look for an alternative provider. We short-listed three and benchmarked them with varying criteria, before having an easy choice to pick Northwood Crawley, who were head and shoulders above the competition in almost every category. The lengths they have gone to to help with the transition has been above and beyond what could reasonably be expected, and it is such a joy to be referred to as a "person" again rather than just a "number". It is early days, but so far I would not hesitate to recommend them for serious consideration.

GoogleI was selling my flat and as it was my first time, I went to a couple of local estate agents for guidance etc. I chose Northwood, as they were a smaller agent and I felt Ben Pugh was more personable. He made me feel he would do what he could to make the process as quick and easy as possible for me. Having no previous experience in selling a property, I had to have trust in my estate agent. My instincts were correct, because within the first week, I had 4 offers. Ben was on hand to help me through the whole selling experience, for which I was extremely grateful. On occasion it wasn't easy, and Ben was there to explain it all in simple terms. Even if Ben was out of the office, his colleagues were helpful and very professional. I can't fault Northwood and will recommend them to my friends and family at every opportunity. Thank you all once again
