“APPALLING LANGUAGE”-Total Lack of Respect

I telephoned the Torrington office to make an appointment for my house to be valued, it had previously been valued by Howard Bowles from the Torrington branch some 18months previously so just wanted to check whether he needed to re-visit. Whilst on the phone making the appointment I heard a male member of staff shout at the top of his voice..”Well you can F*** right off”.. I can only hope he was not speaking to a customer on the phone but someone else. The guy I was speaking to made a sshhhh sound as he was clearly very embarrassed and apologised for his colleagues appalling and very unprofessional behaviour. Whilst I was called back some days later but at a time much later than arranged by Howard Bowles I certainly would not now consider using BOP as clearly they have shown themselves to be extremely unprofessional in front of clients and certainly totally uncaring of clients opinions. I certainly would have expected better, obviously did not attend the good Customer Service course.

Worst Agent In Devon

I've only ever had bad experiences with Bond Oxborough Phillips, more than with any other estate agent in North Devon. On this occasion I went to visit a very affordable rental property of which I progressed to referencing for. After travel and paperwork time, and providing income proof, a guarantor, references and meeting the criteria, I was given a very weak reason for my application being refused. I queried this and came to the conclusion that the landlord was either taking the property off of the market or was doing someone else a favour.Having had multiple experiences with this agent, the problems clearly start at the top of the company, with them either designating talentless partners or training them insufficiently. Likely both. I've never known an agent take the phrase "winging it" so literally. The only saving grace is that the staff, particularly junior associates and apprentices, showing potential and talent don't seem to remain at the company for very long - likely once they realise that they will progress with their career further with a different company, if they haven't been put off for life.I would recommend looking into alternative agents, these will take advantage of you.

The worst agency in Bideford and the worst customer service I've never seen in an agency. I went three times asking to see properties (for rent), two asking for viewing the properties and they just told me that they had already many bookings to visit these properties. Also they didn't make any effort asking if they can help me with any other or what I was looking for. The third one I asked by email and they sent me some questions and when I answered they didn't answer again. They have 0 communication skills with customers and you have the feeling they don't care about what you are asking for.

The office is generally very communicative and always action things that they say they will do (this is also the case for bop in Bideford). In particular we felt very supported by Tracy doing the sales progression, who was very responsive and effective in helping coordinate all parties concerned and moving things along. Awful! Through Barnstaple Bond Oxborough I went to view a property that was described as "country side views". I noticed some building at the back and to the side, but was told by Sara that as far as she knew the building would stop there. She also mentioned that some of the neighbouring properties had been mowing grass into the field at the back & implied that that field was owned by a "farmer".

A poor experience

Scheduled to view a property in Chagford, made a 3hr round trip to view and had a limited window of time (30 minutes) as had children to collect from school. Firstly, they turned up 15 minutes late, we were told because of the rain, so that reduced our viewing time. Entered the property to be faced with poorly tenants (apparently not covid) but still was totally inappropriate for us to be there and left promptly. We were then told we couldn't view the shop part until 2pm when we had made it very clear we would have to leave then. So we didn't view the shop at all

Totally incompetent

The most incompetent, unprofessional and downright dishonest Estate agents you will ever come across. They have consistently lied to us about the property we were purchasing, at one point saying our offer was accepted and then we find out they were still taking viewings. Prior to that another property we were bidding on was sold to someone else at below market price without even having the decency to ring us and ask if we would like to increase our bid. Time and again our calls go unanswered and the lady who works there is incredibly rude and needs to work on her customer service skills. I urge people not to use them as you have many options in the area. We have lost track of the lies they've told us. In a nutshell their lies and incompetence have left us in a really awkward position that had they just been honest with us, we wouldn't be in.
