Even though you don't know whether you will go ahead with the renting or not. And the application form talks about a pending move and not to book a viewing. From my impression, my own opinion based on my experience, they are trying to discriminate against people with the excuse of following Covid-19 government advice JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE TO REOPEN INDOOR HOSPITALITY!!!!! THIS IS ABSURD!

As I cannot answer to their answer I edit my review....
They do ask for references through the rent4sure.co.uk system, with emails subjects: Reference for X, address, Leicester, LE2 ... - Reference #...... and the content of the email is: Your letting agent Knightsbridge Professional Lettings has asked us to carry out a reference on you with regards to the property address, Leicester, LE2 .... In order for us to complete this reference, you are required to submit mandatory information onto our secure online system.
with underneath a red button that says: complete your application. Is this not a request for references?
then, via email they ask for:
Household Details (who will be living with you at the home)
Employment Details such as employer, position and annual income, etc
Current history of addresses you have lived at for the past 3 years
Current residential status (owner, rented, etc)
Which is basically what they ask also in an application form for credit checks. They do not say they will perform a credit check before a viewing, but they ask for all information to run one.....NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

We are sorry to hear of your feedback, but we need to point out a few inaccuracies in your comment.
We do not ask for references before a client views a property, we ask for a basic and brief application form to be completed so that we can financially qualify applicants and make sure that we are only showing applicants around a property that will most likely to meet the referencing criteria, and therefore limiting the amount of people we come into direct contact with during the current pandemic.
We do not discriminate against potential applicants by asking for this brief and basic information, we use this process to protect our staff and clients during Covid.
We are sorry that you find this to be “absurd and unprofessional”, but we can assure you that the majority of potential applicants appreciate how seriously we aim to protect our staff and themselves.
