Selling your house? Stay clear of Keenan's. After an agreed sale on our house, I had been chasing Keenan's for weeks for a for a response from the buyer. This is normal Keenan's kept telling me. So I've now contacted the buyer directly as it seems Keenan's were incapable. Only to find out they buyer had emailed Keenan's 3 weeks ago to pull out of the sale and Keenan's had 'missed' the email as they put it. This isn't no excuse and left us in a very difficult position having to sell our house again when there is a whole chain of people waiting. Thanks for nothing. No offer of anything in way of fixing this other than them relisting. No thanks, thanks for nothing.

My experience of Keenans was very poor. Right from the start the Burnley branch didn't have much info on the property they were selling. I quickly gave up on them and went to speak to the property owner myself about it. We struck up a deal between us, but everytime Keenans got involved it just went downhill. The staff were evasive, they lied and were sometimes aggressive. All phone calls are vetted by the receptionist so if anyone there doesn't want to talk to you they just don't answer the phone or make excuses why they can't speak to you. If you want to speak to someone just lie about who you are and you'll get put through. We had a much better experience with Yopa.

It is difficult to find the correct words which explain how ridiculous the service received from Keenan's will be. If you are looking for an unprofessional, incompetent and poorly trained estate agents team, then this is the agent to choose. As a seller, the sales team will push any client through to update a property status to sold. The team who manage the sale are incompetent at best. You hear from the supervisor how hundreds of issues can be raised during a sale and how his team are trained to overcome them. Then when a problem occurs the advisors are that poorly trained that the most minor issue becomes such an over exaggerated problem, causing constant unnecessary delays. During my contract, I refused to work with one adviser as she was absolutely useless, lost a sale and then didn't have the professionalism to tell me herself. It very quickly became evident that the advisor handling the second sale was exactly the same. You can negotiate your fee. This is likely standard practice with an agent of this calibre, as they know what their service is really worth. If you enjoy helping incompetent staff, that you are paying, overcome issues they create, on a daily basis, then this is the service for you.I am likely to loose the second sale on my house, resulting in a broken down chain after 7 months with this agent. Agents like this take no accountability for there actions and always pass blame. Anyone who has a career within professional environment will understand how this approach would not be tolerated in any other industry. In summary, I could not be more disappointed with Keenan's and I would not recommend this agent to anyone wanting to buy or sell a house.

GoogleI bought a house from Keenan's Estate Chorley and some of the staff were friendly, however some staff were not that nice. They use to be very biased towards the sellers point of view rather than the buyers. I have purchased a house through this agent and they are okay, however I would warn you too look at the house properly before purchasing it to avoid any disappointment, as they don't let you view in the property after the offer has been accepted. They only let you view in the property after you have spent money for your house survey, which I thought was unfair after I wanted to book a second view in.

GoogleWe thank and congratulate all the staff at the Chorley Office for their professionalism, patience and understanding of the situation we experienced this year, which was made more difficult due to the pandemic, which cuased delays all along the journey from our sale to completion. Every member of the team dealt with us in an appropriate way at every step, encouraging, supporting and advising where necessary. The initial sale went through quickly due to good marketing and the skill of those who showed potential customers around our property. The follow -up, so necessary after viewings was completed promptly and efficiently, giving us prompt feedback. We looked around carefully at several agents before engaing Keenans, but our choice was fully justified.

Trustpilotviewing for a property…
I arranged a viewing for a property several days prior as I’m a clinician and having to take time out of work to view. I called up on the day to confirm and was told it was not booked. Apparently they had tried to “call” me but must have taken the wrong number down. Next appointment offered was a week later. I have seen all this before. It stinks of unprofessionalism and incompetence. Would tread carefully with this company.

Avoid this estate agents at all costs. If I could give them no stars I would have done. Initially had my house on the market with them and it sold within a couple of weeks at full asking price. I did all the viewings myself. Found a house I wanted to buy which Keenans were also marketing but the building survey showed up many structural problems so wasn’t willing to proceed. When I rang Keenans to advise them of this I was told ‘all building surveys say that’ and was met with exasperation that I wasn’t willing to proceed. I was then told that I would have to pay their full fee as they had a buyer lined up for my house. At this stage the buyers hadn’t even done a survey on my house and had only had an offer on theirs. When I questioned this I was told they had done an awful lot of work so I would have to pay. I checked the contract which clearly stated payment was due on completion of a sale. When I rang to complain I was told it was a mistake and I shouldn’t have been told this. I suspect if I hadn’t have challenged this they would have invoiced me. I asked for an investigation to be conducted into the conduct of the employee who told me this. She was rude, abrupt and aggressive in her manner. I was assured they would do this and let me know the outcome. Even though I chased this up no one ever came back to me. You have been warned!

If I had the ability to give this laughing stock of a firm no stars I would. Unfortunately I am not able to and trustpilot likes to be kind and cheer them up with at least one!My offer was accepted as a full and final offer on a house and costs were incurred from getting my mortgage in principle and going forward with the mortgage. Keenan's refused to take the property off of the market after my offer was accepted. They were the first agents I had ever come across who hadn't done this (I should have listened to my gut instinct at this point.) Their excuse was some nonsense about UK law (being a law student I was very aware that the poorly constructed explanation was pulled from thin air) though I have to give them credit here - it did make me smile.My offer was eventually gazumped as people were still allowed and encouraged to forward offers on the house. Keenan's saw no problem with their unethically sharp practices towards myself and I do truly fear for their future clients...Plenty of professional, well practicing and ethical estate agents in Burnley. Shame Keenan's is not on the list of them.

Asked Keenans and one other local agent for a valuation. They were quick to come round, gave a decent valuation and a solid pitch but repeatedly slagged off the other agency ("oh they're doing it online are they, well we've actually come out to visit you", "I've heard their staff aren't following Covid safety on viewings" etc). Two follow up phonecalls in 24 hours plus someone coming round with a bottle of wine and some paperwork (a standard valuation letter that hadn't been properly completed - price info and agency fee was missing). Found it all a bit off-putting so we went with the other guys. Reader, Keenans went NUTS. Guy I spoke to kept telling me the agency I'd gone with was useless and rang me back 3 times in the next two days to ask if I'd changed my mind (I said straight away that I wasn't going to change my mind and never wavered from that position). I then got a weekly phonecall from Keenans staff, asking how my sale was going ("oh so you haven't completed the sale yet, that's a shame - just wanted to let you know we're selling lots of flats in the area"). The agency we went with got us a buyer within 3 days of listing, who then pulled out, we got a new buyer within another 2 days (for over the asking price) and I have zero complaints about the process - on the other hand, being stalked for 2 months by an agency we DIDN'T EVEN GO WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE has been pretty weird. I've asked to be taken off their database now. But I'd recommend steering well clear.

I have my property with Keenan's. I have found them to be fantastic. They listen to you, advice you in the best way possible. The staff are so friendly. They go the extra mile. Over the years I have dealt with many of Rochdale Estate Agents, and I have found Keenan's to be the very best by far. I would recommend them 100% every time. Nothing is too much trouble. Well done Keenan's.

GoogleSince putting our house on the rental market with Keenans we have had so many different members of staff to deal with our predicament and just been informed that we now have another one. The communication has been very difficult and frustrating with the situation we are in now with bad tenants. Hope this situation improves.

Totally unprofessionalBooked an appointment, had it confirmed (with a reference number). Chased them up to confirm timings, they had lost the appointment !Totally wasted my morning and ended up in numerous phone calls. Go elsewhere, I would hate to think how they deal with house sales based upon my experience - AVOID THEM.

BEWARE of everything they put in description as although they know it is lies they don't care ! Property took over 4 months to complete with a cash buyer and no chain ! They are also now advertising part of my property for sale with the next door property (owner of mine owned next door property as well ) When I pointed it out to them they said it was up to me to prove I owned it ,they were sooo rude !! They only sold it to me 4 months ago !! They refused to take it off and the owner was told and didn't care but still they continue to advertise it 3 weeks later !! So whoever buys next door won't know till they see the deeds when they are further down the line with the sale ! THIS IS MORALLY WRONG !!Trading standards here I come !!

OMG I have read the reviews on Keenans and could not disagree more with them. Keenans came around on a Saturday took pictures etc. The house went on the systems on Monday morning by 12pm that day we had 12 viewings booked in for the Saturday. By Saturday afternoon the house was SOLD. We were kept informed all the way through the process the staff were amazing and helpful. WELL DONE. Keenans. I got one would strong recommend you .

Right! Where to start? Buying so put in offer but they won't put STC on site or board? The vendor agreed price and then they still showing around! I started mortgage and legal costs incurred and still showing people around and advertising it. Called them up to be told will take off when survey goes to. Did so and gave them details then they say will take off when survey comes back. Came back then wanted to see deposit. Showed them they wanted mortgage offer. Showed them then they wanted actual offer not in principle. This went on for 3 weeks and then told them to shove it up the Niagra. Oh, at one point was told the vendor had someone mess him about so he wanted 10k deposit in his account!!!! Told them illegal and are they nutz. Apologies and then same crap of this and that. Madness.
