Decent Letting Agent.

Everything went well and communication was good. They were also helpful when we wanted a second viewing. The downside was our landlord was hounded during the referencing process, even when we were promised they would not be contacted if we allowed the open banking. This resulted in our landlord discovering we’re leaving before we had a chance to tell them. Aside from that, it was a pleasant experience. We dealt with Eloisa in the Weybridge office and Loren for any letting problems - both are engaging and are fast to respond.

The Jackson-Stops (JS) Reigate office recently acted on both our sale and purchase. Their service was outstanding and we cannot speak highly enough of the entire team.JS provided unwavering support throughout what was a protracted conveyancing process. Chris was our main point of contact and was tireless in guiding us through every stage. We are also hugely grateful to the rest of the team, Louise, Tim and Andrea, and particularly to Pip for his advice and support throughout. All contributed significantly to getting us over the line.The team were proactive in chasing open queries, identifying and advising on missing documentation, and keeping us fully informed. Their ability to facilitate and work with other agents across the entire chain to was also crucial.Most importantly, JS worked closely with our solicitors, often going above and beyond to maintain momentum and resolve issues. I recently had a challenging experience with Jackson Stops Agency regarding necessary repairs to my flat that required me to vacate temporarily. Initially, my attempt to address the issue was frustrating. When I called the agency, I was met with an unhelpful and hurried response from a staff member who informed me that the rental team was in a meeting. She didn't allow me to explain my situation and instead provided me with the email address of someone who was on annual leave, which added to my anxiety and frustration.However, my experience took a turn for the better when I spoke with Jess Lynagh. Jess was incredibly kind and understanding. She listened to my concerns attentively and assured me that she would take care of the situation. Don't Hesitate To Use Jackson-Stops

From us finding a house we liked to making an offer, the agent - Samantha, was always approachable and helpful. Samantha monitored the selling process diligently giving us constant updates when there were delays and negotiating with parties when there were was a hold up. Unexpectedly, the first sale was withdrawn after a protracted period and Samantha delivered the unwelcome news sensitively and then went out of her way to find suitable alternatives. Samantha was very caring and diplomatic when dealing with some of the questions I posed and when considering a suitable alternative. All the staff that answered the phone in the Newmarket Office were extremely approachable. Our experience spanned seven months.

Jackson Stops in Newmarket were absolutely faultless from our initial meeting with Ed and Lottie, the marketing of our property, to the completion of our house sale.They know the market very well, always keep in touch with updates and are constantly searching to match your home with the right people. My nightmare thanks to Jackson Stops

UPDATE - thank you to the chairman of Jackson Stops for calling me. Unfortunately leaves me even more frustrated. Not willing to reimburse me for to not delivering our contract but an admission that processes will be reviewed going forward…… I employed Jackson Stops to let my home to an honest, trustworthy, professional individual. I am not a career landlord but needs must whilst I worked away and I trusted the experience of the agent and that my verbal instructions that were met with many assurances would be delivered. I went with this business as had great service when they sold my property but the sale unfortunately collapsed so I felt duty bound to give them the business on the lettings side. The organisation seemed professional and has a great reputation in the area. I was explicit in my instructions and this was met with many assurances. The tenant stopped paying rent 2 months into the tenancy and although helpful at first, Jackson Stops have turned their back on my predicament and ‘closed the file’ . The tenant was actively recommended and championed by the agent whilst others were discounted. The agent wrote he ‘expected the references to come back perfectly’ even though at that time they hadn’t been referenced. I now realise huge red flags weren’t picked up on the applications, information that only the agent had. Now I have sight after the fact, I am wondering how this ever got passed an experienced Director of the business. Perhaps due to the preconceived idea the tenant was ‘ a nice young woman ‘ and ‘perfect’ . As they got paid but didn’t achieve what we’d agreed and are wholly responsible for my financial and emotional stress, I reached out to JS to give them an opportunity to do the right thing. I asked for a gesture from them to help with the mounting costs to recover my home and was flabbergasted to a polite but firm refusal. I am now 6 months into this nightmare with only Jackson Stops ( and the non paying tenant) benefitting from the whole horrid situation. I was told by the Director responsible that Jackson Stops have never had a situation like the one I face. Perhaps this has led them to complacency and why the obvious flaws in the applications weren’t picked up. I accept JS used a third party to reference and I was privy to the ‘pass’ document but that was all we had, that and being led by the agents recommendation. Him being the only one who had met the applicant and the only one with sight of all information. In a recent conversation the director admitted he had noticed potentially fraudulent information had been given. Had he shared this knowledge, we wouldn’t have progressed. I go back to my instructions, I required an honest, trustworthy, professional tenant. There is copious information in the public domain on this individual, again that only the agent had access to at that time that suggested the risk was high my instructions and a happy outcome for their client (me) was not going to be achieved. I maintain that JS were duty bound to give me all the information, regardless of the positive reference result. Beware!! Ask questions, don’t be swayed by a ‘pass’ based on the most basic of checks and don’t allow the agents opinion to sway you as even though you expect due diligence and impartiality, this particular agent may not deliver that for you as they certainly didn’t for me.

Can't recommend highly enough

I was looking for a new estate agent April 23 for a property that I lease. After speaking with Will Jordan at the Alderley Edge branch I knew they were the right company for me. Will was friendly, knowledgeable & is always available if & when I need advice. Unlike my previous estate agent where I got passed from pillar to post & to be quite frank they had become very complacent & were not looking after my best interests. I can not recommend Jackson Stops highly enough. So if you are looking for a change I can assure you, you won't be disappointed. Nearly a year later I can still say it was the best thing I've ever done.

I can recommend Jackson Stops knowing the service i have received over decades has been brilliant. The relationship with Anthony Jevons at the Jackson Stops Hale office is built on 30 years of buying and selling property through Anthony and his Jackson Stops colleagues at the Hale and Chester office. The professionalism shown by Jackson Stops has been brilliant on each property sale and purchase, and i wouldn't consider using another estate agent for a UK property. One of the properties that they sold for me near Chester via Stephen Cheshire in Jackson Stops Chester office was sold for £170,000 over the asking price, and the property they sold for my mother in February 2025 in Bowdon sold in just one day after signing up Jackson Stops to sell the property, and there were an additional 4 people due to view it the following day!!!

A great experience from start to finish!

We purchased a house earlier this year through Jackson-Stops. Rosanna, who, was our first point of contact was exceptional throughout the whole process, from viewing until the day we completed. She was professional, kind and managed to guide us through a tricky few months and reassure both myself and my husband, with the house sale (which took much longer than anticipated). The icing on the cake was a lovely gift bag on the day we moved in, which was completely unexpected but a really nice touch.
