I couldn’t recommend Jay and Shari enough, it wasn’t an easy sale and they both stuck by us through thick and thin. Shari answered every call and put my mind as rest, she was honest and transparent about what was happening which I think is key. Jay was also willing to do lots of viewings and helped being the middle man, again no question was too much and his replies were fast. Thanks again team, it was a great service and we couldn’t recommend you both enough! You are great at your jobs and an asset to the team. Thanks

The team at Jackson-Stops Alderley Edge went above and beyond to support us with both our house sale and purchase. Their professionalism, commitment and tenacity - as well as the fact that they are all such warm and friendly people - made them an absolute pleasure to work with. Our sale was a little knotty but Shari invested huge amounts of time and effort, and we genuinely don’t think we would have achieved the outcome we did without her persistence and commercially astute approach. A special mention also to Jay, who was a delight to deal with and consistently kept us informed with clear feedback and updates following viewings. Our thanks to the whole team for guiding us through the process, we are extremely grateful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Poor service

Asked to view a property on Bures Road and was told I had to provide proof of funds before even being allowed a viewing. I understand proof of funds is needed at offer stage but demanding it just to view a house is unnecessary and comes across as rude and intrusive; the tone felt more like an interrogation. And for clarity, questioning an asking price is not the same as being unable to afford a property. In a previous transaction, we declined to overpay for a house we did not believe was worth its asking price, and it later sold for significantly less. That is a valuation judgement (a mistake by the same agent), not a funding issue.

Shari was amazing at getting the purchase over the line. It was a very difficult purchase for Shari as the Vendor was very emotional about if he really did want to sell or not. Shari work so hard to balance emotions with the Vendor and me on the other side. She always kept in touch to let me know where it was up to all the way through. Great Credit to Jackson Stops.

A breath of fresh air! The day I met James he was professional but friendly and his advice was perfect. He spoke honestly about our home and the various sales / marketing options. Everything was organised for us and extremely easy. All the staff at the Alderley Edge branch were super polite, helpful and very courteous; our sale was quick and went through very smoothly. Shari was always attentive and Jay really worked tirelessly to accommodate us and achieve completion of the sale. In fact the whole team were just fabulous! When it became clear the appliances couldn’t be fixed, she provided 3-4 replacement options at varying price points, all of which were cost-effective and competitive with retailers on the high street. Happily do it again...

I met Toby Whittome, a Director at the Jackson Stops office in Lindfield, at a neighbour’s Christmas cocktail party. As my wife and I were pondering selling our house the following spring/summer, I spent quite a few minutes peppering Toby with a number of questions. I immediately liked his manner, patient, detailed, humorous and tolerant of me chewing up his time away from the office.We have now sold our house with Toby brokering the deal. Despite knowing that I was going to use him, we interviewed a number of other companies. None of them had the manners nor manner that I wanted in my partner for this deal. As a foreigner, I am fascinated about the strong opinions that homeowners or buyers have about property agents. The English system is far from simple and there are numerous opportunities to fail. Ours had the typical ebbs and flows but it certainly didn’t feel like it. Like anything you get what you pay for and I, possibly, didn’t pay enough so we got a steal. In fact, the process was seamless, lacked the gravitas of what a transaction of this size could have had and was just plain enjoyable…except for the moving of possessions part. I queried Toby robustly about his strategy and the process and ultimately deferred to him despite having worked in property in the past.I would strongly suggest you use Toby and his team. He may not tell you what you want to hear but he will tell you what he knows. If that is not what you want to hear or he sounds uncertain, that is the reality of the market, the process, the English system and he will still know more than you do. You are in good hands. I should know. Best of luck.
