Having arrived in a country where we know no one and nothing about how things work, feeling lost and even afraid most of the times, stepping through the door of the Brown & Merry Chesham Office was one of the luckiest moments of my life. Have been dealing with Brown & Merry in Newport Pagnell for some time now and have always been pleased with the service. Both Matt and Lydia are great people, who with the hiccups I have had, through no fault of theirs, have always been positive and kept me going (and sane!!) We contacted brown & merry through…

We contacted brown & merry through there wendover branch based in buckinghamshire. They arranged a viewing very polite and knowledgeable lady. Property was lovely just what we wanted. Then they informed us it was being sold through an auction by Iam sold.This is where the problems started. Having never purchased a property by auction before they put me in contact with iam sold who agreed a price with the seller I then put down a non refundable deposit which was a massive mistake. Unfortunately the sale could not be completed because of problems with the lease and we lost our deposit. I must add I done all my research and had a mortgage agreed in principle. So although it’s not all brown & meets fault. They should not deal with this dodgy auction company and any who gets advice to by property through an auction site please take my advice and go through normal channels.

I used Brown & Merry Hemel Hempstead branch and spoke with Eliot and Stephen. From the very first contact I had with Eliot I was pleasantly surprised of how informative he has been with communications. I felt I was a valued customer to them. I noticed property and contacted Brown & Merry and everything was smooth running from there. All the staff I spoke with were polite and professional. Eliot phoned me back when he said he would. He was also able to squeeze me in to view properties at short notice, which I was very pleased with. It is stressful, looking for a new property to move into, and I felt that Stephen was very informative with every property showed me. All my questions are answered, and if he didn’t know the answer, he got back to me. I had to nip into the branch to sign the paperwork and receive the keys and Eliot and Stephen could not have been more helpful with helping me navigate around the process of renting. Any questions I had was investigated before responding back to me, which made me feel confident with the company. I’ve been in the property over a month now, and I am very happy with my decision. I’ve had no surprises since moving in regarding misinformation. I could not recommend this branch more. Thank you guys.

I regret to say that my experience with…

I regret to say that my experience with Brown & Merry's Leighton Buzzard branch has been extremely disappointing. I accepted an offer on August 2025 and instructed them for conveyancing services immediately after. However, nearly three months later, the sale remains incomplete, with little to no progress from their sales team. Despite repeated attempts to get updates, I have been left in the dark, with no visible effort or action on their part to move things forward. I had hoped to work with them through the process, but the lack of professionalism and urgency has led me to seriously consider switching to a different firm. I would not recommend this service to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and professional conveyancing team. Very disappointing overall.

Be careful with this agency…the agents are asking for part of deposit to “check your references “and they will tell you that you don’t pass and you will lose the money .They don’t provide you with information about the rejection which I find normal to have because you pay for them.Agent name that I deal is Eliot…very kind but also very sharp when you ask about explanations If they do like that with 10 people per week this deposit are money in the pocket If anyone have the same experience don’t hesitate to share it.This is Hemel Hampstead branch

Overvalued and little contact

Over valued and little contact.So much contact to get us to sell with them, as soon as we listed the house with them I received loads of marketing calls trying to get us to upgrade the marketing package. They encouraged us often to drop the price they valued it at. I really believe they give you a great listing price but then always encourage clients to reduce. If you look on rightmove you’ll see lots of there listings reduced. Sarah branch manger French promised calls back but never did. Alex was the only person in branch that was helpful. I also went with the solicited they recommended and they were also awful, slow and never communicated with us.

I could not recommend James Gibson enough! What an outstanding mortgage advisor he has been! He is a Godsend who was tactfully recommended by Charmaine at a time when my husband and I were suffering from mortgage broker fatigue! Our application turned out to be more complex and drawn- out than we expected. However, James’ patience, determination, expertise, professionalism and ever so positive attitude were instrumental in us obtaining a great mortgage offer. After this major achievement, James went above and beyond his duty by liaising with the seller’s estate agent, solicitors and the mortgage provider in what was still a very stressful process for us. I can say without exaggeration that his kind involvement and support helped to bring the purchase of our first home to completion. I have recently purchased a property marketed by Brown & Merry. The experience was quite phenomenal. Though appointed by the seller, I felt like the team were acting on my behalf and were quite supportive throughout. Perry, Chris & James were super efficient and kept me well updated of the status, from time to time. They were always available on phone and quick to react in case of any issues/impediments. On the day of completion, Perry went the extra mile(literally) to handover the keys personally at my residence as the Chesham branch was quite far from where I live. I will definitely consider Brown & Merry, Chesham branch in particular for any future transactions of mine and also recommend them to anyone considering estate agents.

Finally have completed the sale of my property in Chesham. It was a roller coaster of almost there, but this year was the year obviously. Charmaine has been superb in steering things along the way and it has been a supportive and superbly helpful throughout the process, a great communicator and always available or would call straight back. This sale took 12 weeks to the day almost from offer to completion (could have been 8 but you know... Solicitors...) and I am very pleased to be able to tie the ends up and move forward. Top class property sales service

We do not believe we could have chosen a better estate agent to market and sell our investment property. Living abroad as we do, we needed an agent who would provide an efficient sales service and give us the comfort that we had someone with the requisite knowledge and also act in our best interests. We cannot speak highly enough of Mason Janes, Branch Manager of Brown and Merry Stony Stratford, and his sales team. From initial valuation right through to completion, they provided us with an exceptionally high level of service and support. We have nothing to criticise or complain about.
