Went into the Chesham branch earlier today to discuss the options of either renting or selling my property, I was initially met by Loryn who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and gave me several informative tips for when it comes to renting. I then spoke to John who guided me through the sales process and gave me detailed insights into the local market. Having gone into a couple of local offices over the last few days I must say this was bay far the most welcoming and knowledgeable and I will definitely be in touch when I come to make my move. I cannot praise or recommend Brown and…

I cannot praise or recommend Brown and Merry Wendover enough. I have never been one to leave reviews, but I felt incredibly implied to do it in this case. Our fantastic experience began with viewing the house we were purchasing. We viewed the property two times, firstly with Sylvie and secondly with Ruby. Both were absolutely fantastic experiences, and they both did as much to sell the house as the property itself. On both occasions we were handed beautifully presented brochures, which were fantastic additions to the viewing and more than anything, fantastic memoirs for the house we were purchasing. They were knowledgeable, kind and not in anyway overbearing, completely contrasting all other experiences we had had with estate agents. We submitted an offer for the property, which was accepted, and were immediately given all options in relation to conveyancing, processes etc. Once again, a really thought through stage. During our purchase, through no fault of Brown and Merry's, we began having issues with our solicitors. And in particular, issues with an enquiry from our conveyancers. We were advised by them to call Brown and Merry for advice, and upon doing so were passed to Claire. Claire took it upon herself to liaise with us, the sellers, the sellers solicitor, our solicitor etc. to assist in organising a resolution that would allow exchange and completion. She chased everyone almost everyday, updating us throughout and creating communication between both sides where there never was before due to incompetent solicitors. We had a point of contact for which nothing was too much to help with, and the purest example of someone going above and beyond where they were in no way obligated to. I truly believe without Claire's assistance, we would not be at the exchange stage we are now. Thank you Claire. In summary, if you are thinking of buying or selling through Brown and Merry, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better.

We bought through Brown and Merry- longest house purchase timeframe ever (19 months) due to broken chains and other issues. Brown and Merry were highly professional and supportive throughout the challenging process. Edward was encouraging and helpful every time we spoke and kept in constant contact- even with congratulatory phone calls on exchange on contracts. Apathetic and over promise

Went with them as they offered a 1 month contract and the salesman was very convincing. Put our house on the market for too high a price, even though we asked them to go in closer to all the other valuations we had. Photos were not great and neither was the brochure. Had a some interest and a few viewings, but not once did they negotiate and get an offer. Stuck with them for 1 month and then went with another agent. They were much more professional and hungry for the sale. We sold within 3 days, and are moving in the next week :)

Recently just completed on renting in Chesham. Jake was the agent that was supporting us in our search. From the moment we met him, he was professional, honest and transparent. Really refreshing to see and he has literally answered every question we have had. He also communicated effectively with the owners as the property was going through deep renovation. Brown and merry Tring have put a "for sale" board outside my home, My home is not for sale. The bord relates to a house 500 yards away. I have asked the Manager three times to remove the board but to no avail. Have had to resort to complaint to property ombudsman.

Do not rent or buy from this company under any circumstances

Do not ever rent or buy from this company. They are the absolute worst of the worst We rented a property at the start of October and were told that we could rent the property for up to 10 years as the property was an investment for the landlords child. The previous tenant moved out the day before we picked up the keys so when we moved in, despite a so called cleaner being bought in we had moved in to a kitchen with greasy worktops and cupboards, handles in the kitchen that you could feel grease and gunk, burnt on food on trays in the oven, rubbish swept under the kitchen units, kickboards missing, holes in walls, cupboards leaning from the wall, cat poo and glass all through the garden, bathroom sink and bath plugs that were unusable and electrics that were faulty. The landlord was apparently a trained electrician but didn't realise that a flickering light switch in the kitchen was linked to a faulty mains electric input, something we only discovered when our electrics went and we had to call national grid to come and get our electrics sorted due to a faulty mains input. We were told that the weight of what we had put in cupboard is what pulled it off of the wall (kitchen units are supposed to support weight) yet the units were leaning when we moved in. We had a wooden back door that expanded after over 24 hours of rain and caused the expansion of joints, an issue that had previously been experienced due to screws and obvious glueing of joints but we got the blame by the landlord for slamming the door despite no evidence. We were asked numerous silly things by the landlord including storing all of our cleaning products on lower units despite having a 4 year old child that would have easy access to them but no care was given about this. Apparently the landlord requested this because it was the weight that apparently pulled the cupboard off of the wall which is absolutely ridiculous. Alex at the Stony Stratford branch doesn't give a cr*p and does anything to keep the landlord happy without a care in the world for the tennant and Poppy at the same branch is absolutely rude and will happily get into a full blown argument after putting the blame on you for situations that you have reported according to your contact. We have a neighbour that has bought a house through this company and experienced similar problems. DO NOT buy or rent through this company or their parent company Sequence unless you want to experience complete lack of care for the tenant or buyer and want to be blamed for everything. They take no responsibility, they backup the landlord and not the tenant and seem to not have a care in the world for anyone as long as they gat a sale or let. Steer well clear and go with someone else because this company are an absolute joke. We have never experienced a company so rude and with such a complete lack of care. If you ever deal with Poppy or Alex good luck to you. I really wish I could mention the landlords name but I can't but I will say the he likes to drive past and keep watch on you. Something I find a little bit weird. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

Massively inflated estimate that they wanted to "review" after 2 weeks into the listing, once the 6 months sole agency kicked in. The long list of ready buyers' contact details that the agent showed in the estimation meeting never trickled down to their list of introduced persons, so beware of that tactic too and don't waste your time with them.
