GoogleErrington Smith - Simply the Best for Rental Tenants I have rented for 20 plus years and recently taken a rental property via Errington Smith. The customer service, professionalism and support I have received from them is outstanding. If I call, a member of their team will pick up within 4 rings, if I email them I get a response within a working day. Their portal is intuitive and easy to navigate and their tenancy process is clear, robust and recorded for all parties. I couldn’t be happier, finding them was as satisfying as finding a unicorn. Just can’t believe my luck.

GoogleI cannot sing the praise of Errington-Smith as a firm highly enough! They were all friendly, efficient and professional at all times. They did the most wonderful job of selling my parents' house and it was the most enormous relief to know that the entire process was in such capable hands. As far as I am concerned, each and every member of the team is a star but with a special mention to Karen and to Nigel who were always available and ready to offer advice and reassurance. Never have they let us down in all the years. The service has been professional.and excellent at all times. From viewings to arranging repairs, we can not fault the great service they have given us. GoogleThe team at Errington Smith were outstanding in helping me out early this year. I've never come across a friendlier cohort of estate agents, they truly care about their customers. I was residing outside of Cheltenham at the time, so it was challenging to orchestrate viewings. Nevertheless, the team at Errington went above and beyond. They accommodated a last minute remote viewing on a flat, kept in contact over WhatsApp to keep me up to date and welcomed me into their office on the day I was picking up the keys, about 2 hours early, without prior notice. GoogleI have just completed my third house sale using Errington Smith, and there will be a fourth one in about 18 month's time. There's a good reason for this; Nigel, Karen and the rest of the team, are always on top of the situation, calls are followed up quickly, both purchasers and vendor are always kept informed, and admin is always handled efficiently. Thanks to everyone on the team, and I'll see you for the fourth sale!

GoogleA recent one star review fleetingly and obliquely extolled, but also damned, ErringtonSmith in the same sentence. ES were '...great for landlords, but if you're a renter, beware'. If further proof as to ES's misguided allegiance to landlords was needed the reviewer went on to say 'When moving out, expect them to nitpick and try to charge you unfairly'. To a casual observer of the review it probably smacked of ES deploying practises that Peter Rachman would have condoned and embraced. Great news for landlords but not for poor beleaguered tenants. In the light of an ombudsman's findings this week it would be remiss not to keep the five 'Thumbs Uppers' (those supporting the 'One Star Review' and the assertions of tawdry practises at ES) up to date with what's happened. They might want to look away now. And gently withdraw their thumbs? But first, let's go back to one of the claims made by the disgruntled reviewer. 'Despite hiring professional cleaners, they (ES) falsely claimed we hadn’t cleaned at all'. And now, verbatim, the ombudsman's findings below. 'However, the more detailed and dated check out report illustrated the extent of the staining to the carpet of bedroom 2, additional staining to the lounge carpet, areas of the bathroom, kitchen and its appliances, as well as a number of cleaning issues to numerous surface areas and woodwork around the property. • While I note the provision of the cleaner’s PLI overview, it is for the tenant to ensure the property is cleaned to the required standard and arrange for any re-cleans with their cleaner, where required. • For these reasons it is reasonable to award for cleaning of the property because it was returned in a worse condition than it was let. • The letting agent is claiming £345.00 and has provided an estimate to this effect, which the cleaner states in the estimate is based on the contents of the check out report. • Noting those minor issues present at the start, I award £305.00 towards property cleaning'. And one final time for those that may have missed it .....'because it was returned in a worse condition than it was let'. Do try and keep up at the back because you seem to have struggled with 'the actualite'. Oh, and looking after the place.
