Andrews took over management of our property. They promised excellent service and communication and a full management service that meant I would not have to manage the property. From day 1 of tenants moving into the property, I was given wrong or incomplete information, I had to chase Andrews to do their job and when they didn't do what they were supposed to do they lied about it to cover their backs after taking 6weeks to respond to me after tenants reported problems at the property. Further to this, when I enquired why they were holding money on my account, it took the regional manager to tell me what it was for as the staff and branch manager couldn't figure it out and when I asked why this money was held for several months unnecessarily I was simply ignored. I asked to leave and move to another company and have been waiting for several weeks for the branch manager to get back to me. Another company has taken over management but I am still awaiting responses to ongoing complaints. During all this I found out that neighbours have complained about the tenants and I was not notified and I'm disappointed as it was dealt with wrong and had I been contacted the complaint would have been resolved for a better outcome for the tenant. The entire service from Andrews has been stressful and upsetting and taken up far more of my time than necessary. Communication and basic property management has been poor and the branch manager has taken responsibility and apologised but failed to reply to get a resolution.

Thanks to the brilliant efforts of Bailey and James at Andrews Letting in Bristol, I think I have found some great tenants for my flat. This is the first time I have let out my flat and I was feeling apprehensive. I have received great support from Andrews throughout the process. When Bailey showed prospective tenants around he made sure he passed over information to them that I thought was important.

Having let properties for many years I can claim that Andrews is the worst agent I have ever used. Their main concern was to let my property in the shortest time possible, the tenants moved in 1 day after Andrews received the final reference, and the substantial concerns of the referencing agency were ignored. The full deposit was not collected, and the references (all failures) were not checked or the contents disclosed to me (other than "everything on them was fine”). There were fundamental failures even to verify the tenant's addresses. Andrews did meet the cost of repossession but refused to reimburse lost rent, or take any action against the “guarantor” who Andrews guaranteed would result in “no loss to you”. Andrews offered £1200 in compensation. After a review by the Property Ombudsman, all my complaints were accepted and I was awarded £8200 to cover unpaid rent and damaged furniture. I will be pleased to supply a copy of the Ombudsman’s report to any interested landlord. Date was date of actual experience.
