AVOID! Awful company to deal with. Nothing but problems. Rodent issues in the kitchen not sorted for over 2 months… Until we threatened not to pay the rent. Toilets didn’t flush properly for the entirety of the tenancy. Black mould build-up in most rooms. We were told we had to wipe the walls down every other day. Ridiculous After countless calls and emails Sheila Bowers (lettings manager) did the bare minimum to resolve the issues. Ball-ache from start to finish

I would highly recommend Ellis Winters in Chatteris. I’ve been letting through them for the past couple of years and have just completed a purchase through them as a first time buyer. While renting the lettings team were professional and responsive and helped resolve any issues as soon as they could. My purchase process was quite lengthy, through no fault of anyone, but both sides of the team were very helpful throughout, keeping me updated as things moved along and were always happy to answer any questions in a way I could properly understand and offered support regarding the whole process, which let the process move as smoothly as possible and was much needed and appreciated as a first time buyer. Ellis Winters have made the whole selling and buying journey alot less stressful than what it could have been. They have been professional from start to finish. Their communication and expertise meant we knew what was happening and they have gone above and beyond to help us achieve the sale of our house and to keep us in the know about what was happening along the chain. Wouldn’t use another estate agents, Louise and Kate were both amazing throughout the whole process. From the valuation of our bungalow to putting the house on the market all the way through to completion day they really couldn’t of done more! Always on the other end of the phone and replies to our enquiries with them were always answered quicker than expected. Their friendly down to earth nature makes dealing with everything a breeze. They both went above and beyond to make our house selling experience as least stressful as possible even with the bumps in the road we hit while selling.

My wife and I used Ellis Winters & Co to purchase our property. Unfortunately the first one fell through but the second one we were able to complete and move in within 71 days from having our offer accepted to obtaining keys which was amazing. Natalie and her team were extemely helpful, provided more than enough support and helped us through the first time purchase and I would have no hesitation to pass them on to potential buyers or sellers. We imagined buying during the pandemic could be a nightmare but it was the complete opposite, mainly down to the Somersham team/office Even the after purchase support has been fantastic.

Although we sadly didn't buy through Ellis Winters, I can honestly say that Natalie and her team really went the extra mile to try and find us the right property. Nothing was too much trouble.The team were so proactive in trying to find us a property that fitted our budget. They even let us know about possibilities before they hit the market. We needed to find something asap, and the Ellis Winters team were right by our side searching.Sadly in the end, we had to look elsewhere, as just couldn't make our money go far enough in the areas we were looking. The whole approach of the Ellis Winters team was friendly, honest and with nothing but our needs/requirements in mind.Was such a shame we couldn't purchase something with their help.When we eventually found our home, we had a pretty dire experience with the Agent selling that! I cannot stress enough how useless the old women at Ellis winters in Chatteris were. we viewed a property and decided that we would like to rent it, at first glance the property looked in acceptable condition, it still had tenants when we looked around so we assumed it would have a clean before we moved in. We didn’t have a lot of time to move so maybe we were a bit hasty in taking this property on. On the day we moved in the smell of smoke hit us as soon as we walked in and the place was filthy. We didn’t have nowhere else to go so decided that we would clean the place up and give it a good airing. When we viewed the house, we smelt a strong smell of air freshener, I imagine that was to mask the smell of smoke and the previous tenants had all of their stuff there so we couldn’t see how filthy it was. I made a complaint to Ellis Winters straight away, and whilst they had previously seemed nice, they became very frosty and didn’t want to hear or deal with our complaint. I persisted and they came round a week later to tell us that the place smelt lovely and was perfectly clean. Ellis winters told us the landlord just wanted his money monthly and wasn’t interested in bringing the place up to standard. My babies and boyfriend all started coughing and that’s when we decided that we couldn’t stay any longer and got another place to live. It has cost us lots of money. Please beware of this lot. They are only interested in taking the money and have absolutely no duty of care to their tenants

I’ve been renting a property for 7 months with constant hot water supply issues. Have requested on multiple occasions for this to be fixed and have had the worst experience with a high street estate agency possible. Communication is horrible, I’m always chasing for a resolution. I moved in and was left without electricity for over 24 hours and with the electricity key not working after being told there was £15 on the meter. Then having to call Utilita for an emergency call out after waiting all night with my 2 year old son. Sheila at Ellis winters promised me there would be a good will gesture for the mishap and I haven’t heard a thing about this in 7 months. I feel Blagged. I’ve had a hot water tank working intermittently that has had low pressure and is virtually not able to use as a shower. Tracy at Ellis Winters told me to sit down and have a shower as that’s what the last tenant did. Nobody told me at time of viewing this was the case. I have since then notified them of broken tank, thermostat issues and all sorts and after requesting an electric shower they have been unhelpful and unresponsive giving me false quotes for an electric shower with no communicate for months. I will be happily moving out at the end of my tenancy and not using Ellis winters as a chain by no circumstances, I suggest you do the same. Absolute crooks and mis selling of a rented property.
