I used William. Property to sell my house in Mountsorrel as I wanted a more personal approach than using a high street estate agent given all the negative stories you hear about these and this proved to be a very wise decision. I found Will to be very approachable, honest, friendly and was always contactable throughout the whole process as well as carrying out all the viewings which was very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending.

Unexpectedly Excellent

Historically I would avoid W H Brown at all costs, but they happened to be selling a property my son wanted to buy, in what was the absolutely perfect location. Ruben Stobart at the Reepham (Norfolk) office drew the short straw for showing me and my son round. He was helpful, informative, answered our questions, and guided us through the process. I had steeled myself for a battle against high pressure selling but what I got was quite the opposite. In the end my son's circumstances unexpectedly changed and we couldn't proceed, but I couldn't fault Ruben if I tried.

Awful experience with a bradford…

Awful experience with a bradford branch, I think Wibsey. We applied for a house put a holding deposit down and was quite transparent about our past. They had no intention of going through with it as something I had no idea about came up on my credit rating. They then pretended to be busy every time I called. Wouldn't call back when I asked for a update. Then at the last minute said they were keeping the holding deposit and we wouldnt not be getting the house. No correspondence via emails, lies said when I rang the office. Awful inhumane experience

Our experience with WH Brown Rentals…

Our experience with WH Brown Rentals was shocking. Upon taking a rental property under the managed scheme, like many tenants, we faced maintenance issues. For example, we lived in a property with an oil boiler. One morning, we awoke to find an issue. Despite informing WH Brown that we used oil, they repeatedly sent gas engineers, eventually stating, "We can't fix it; sort it out yourself." After obtaining the landlord's contact information, it took three days to resolve the issue, leaving us without a boiler during winter. When we requested a hotel due to WH Brown's refusal to address the problem and having young children, we were told, "Sort it yourself; we don't offer that. It's not our problem."Other reported issues weren't addressed under the management scheme, leading us to contact the landlord directly, who addressed them but requested we not report him to the council due to WH Brown's ignorance. When deciding to leave the house, the situation worsened.Upon contacting WH Brown, they told our new agent we were in contract and wouldn't be moving. After challenging this, they acknowledged our break clause. Regarding referencing, they claimed 2-3 weeks, which our new agent and the referencing agency found unacceptable, prompting an alternative approach due to WH Brown being labeled as "the most difficult agent I have ever dealt with for absolutely no reason."Despite three emails, we received the final account balance four weeks later from a company associated with WH Brown. The amount requested was incorrect, and when questioned, they refused to provide clarification. We paid the verified amount as per our contract through a solicitor.During checkout, we returned the keys, receiving the checkout report seven days later, conducted four days before we received a copy. WH Brown absolved themselves, stating another company handles the deposit. Ten days later, with no information, we've threatened legal action for deposit recovery. WH Brown, when contacted, cited busyness and non-responsiveness to emails. The checkout report showed photographed parcels, which we arranged to have collected by a neighbor. However, they were removed without permission, and we've reported this to the police as theft from WH Brown.I've never experienced such shocking service from an agent, and it seems we may need to take legal action to recover our deposit. I strongly advise anyone considering renting with WH Brown to think twice. This review is based on a genuinely terrible experience, and we will continue to fight to get our money back, regardless of the legal implications.

The business has sort of developed a 'call centre' style operation for selling houses. Its poor to say the least.I viewed a property in Doncaster and chased them at least 4 times for info on it.Many failed promises. I accept they may have had to get info from the seller but 4-5 weeks later and nothing? No holding call,no contact.Good luck if you are selling with them, opportunities will just go by the wayside, your property will sit there and with the passage of time just be reduced loosing you money and time.

If I could give a -10 I would the wibsey branch in Bradford is absolutely shocking, and I don’t even live in their property anymore. They were shocking when I lived there back in 2019-2021. They were so hard to get hold of if something needed sorting with the house, staff were diabolically rude and could care less. Turns out even with new staff it’s still the same diabolically rude, they really are the worst estate agents to ever rent from and I would stay clear of them.

Avoid - horrible company and staff are useless.

I have had my house for sale with them for 20 weeks (crossgates/Leeds Branch) and it has been the most painful 20 weeks of my life. They have lost me 2 sales on my house due to lack of communication - I should really seek compensation as they have cost me thousands. Unless you want to have yours and the buyers time wasted do not use!

Swaffham - Aston 10/10

Aston at the Swaffham branch was fantastic. He made us feel really comfortable and answered all the questions we had. As first time buyers it can be all very overwhelming at times however Aston made the process very simple. 10/10. Also Tony and Emily at the Swaffham branch are great. All very friendly and they are there for you across your house buying journey.

I found a rental property online and…

I found a rental property online and asked for a viewing. The property was located over 100 miles from my residence and as a consequence of this the employee said that they had a recent video of the property, she sent it to me and it looked amazing so I put in an offer. Contracts were exchanged and then on the day of moving the agency contacted me to inform me that the cooker had been condemned and had to be removed from the property and that the landlord was now refusing to buy a cooker and that they were not required to provide one. As you can appreciate at this stage I was very upset, however the agents said they would get back to the landlord to see if she would change her mind. The contracts had already been exchanged and the landlord was refusing to honour her side of the agreement on the moving day when the arrangements had been made and I had moved out of my current home. I would not use this company at all they have no common decency and to add salt to the wound I have to take them to court to get my money back for the E first months rent and deposit because they think that I should be held to the fixed term contract and be liable for paying the rent nevertheless! Do not trust this company!!!

The service the landlord received from…

The service the landlord received from the lettings manager at WH Brown Crystal Peaks branch in Sheffield is significantly concerning. The property lettings manager at Crystal peaks branch, was not aware of the legislation regarding property lettings. She failed to follow the codes of practice and the organisations legal responsibilities. The codes of practice for property lettings state that staff must have a good working knowledge of relevant lettings and property management related legislation and the law of contract. The lettings manager failed to serve a 24 hour notice to the tenants informing them that they had breached their contract by constantly refusing the agents access to the property. There was two big holes in the roof of the property clearly visible from the other side of the road of the property. The gable end was hanging off and it was dangerous. The property is an end terrace house and the neighbours have access to the pathway of the property to access their own property. The tenants denied the holes in the roof and the lettings manager refused to believe the landlord that there was two big holes in the roof when the landlord reported the holes in the roof, and she refused to go and take a look for herself. The landlord brought the relevant legislation to the lettings manager. The lettings manager still failed to act on the landlords request to serve a 24 hour notice in writing to the tenants, to enable the landlord to gain access to the property with a construction worker. The lettings manager at the Sheffield branch also reported that the branch did not have the keys to the property. This was despite the landlord having a receipt from the Sheffield branch proving that they had three sets of keys as requested. The keys were later found approximately a week later. The landlord eventually gained access to her property when the tenants finally moved out, two weeks before the bailiffs from the court were about to remove them from the property, and the check out inspection was eventually competed. The two big holes in the roof were visible from the loft. We could clearly see the sky, It is significantly concerning that the agent believed the tenants over the landlord, and furthermore she refused to check the property from the outside to see the the two big holes in the roof for herself. This is just two examples of the poor, unacceptable service that the landlord received from WH Brown. They are terrible and only want your money. I do not have enough time to write all their failings in this review.

W H Brown (Nottingham) made my dream come true of owning my own house

I have recently bought my first home and I can honestly say that without Haaris Alam and Megan Evans, it would of never of happened. Haaris helped me find the best mortgage deal and signposted me to the best solicitor (Campions Solicitors Nottingham). Megan kept in contact with me over the 4 long months it took to finally get my first home. Both individuals are extremely knowledge, were friendly, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them. Haaris and Megan are brilliant at their jobs and they made my dream come true. Thankyou Haaris and Megan :) Shazadi Bashir

Never get back to you, no customer service

DEREHAM branch. Desperate to rent a property for my son and young family. Been on their waiting list. Contacted them on the day a suitable property was advertised (photos awaited). Asked for a viewing. Was advised it wasn't quite "live". We were reassured we would be contacted. Did not hear a thing. Then was told they have had an offer 'accepted' by the landlord. When I complained that we didn't stand a chance was told we could "still view" if we wanted because no money had changed hands yet. What would be the point. Waste of our time and theirs. Rubbish service. No care.

Rocco Tona and his team @ Hoddeson

Rocco Tona and his team at the Hoddesdon branch did an exceptional job during a very testing time in the industry. They helped me find new buyers as the increasing interest rates stifled sales. Supported me with all the info and patient understanding that I needed. We made it through to the end after a year of hard graft all round!! Thank you so much guys!🙏

Satisfied sellers

Lisa Dove, the Sales Progression Manager at WHBrown in Sudbury, Suffolk has been an enormous support to us in the rather protracted process of selling our 2-bedroomed flat. She is both highly professional and efficient, yet friendly and approachable and her input in liaising between our solicitor and that of the buyer has been much appreciated. Thank you Lisa!

Do not use this estate agent

Do not use this estate agent. They did not act in our interest and quite openly attempted to bully us into selling our property at well under the market value. We had a ridiculous offer, which they just expected us to take. Zero effort made to push the property after the offer.
