Horrendous!

The response to my initial review (posted on 28th November, below) is as unsatisfactory as the service. Whatever the company claim now, I can evidence all of the concerns I listed. Further, almost three weeks after the moving date, problems persist. The fridge and freezer were not working and the tenant lost £130 of food. He is still without a working oven and has no access to the electric meter to obtain an initial reading. The latter is especially concerning because the hot water tank heats up constantly and then drains itself: imagine how much this is costing! Various items are broken (door handles, toilet seat) and there is black mould around the windows, very unhealthy. The tenant is facing Christmas with a microwave meal. How unacceptable is this! Happy Christmas, ReedsRains., , , , , -Dealing with this company has been a nightmare, for myself and the tenant for whom I acted as guarantor. Annabel Gilbey was the nominated negotiator but emails and phone calls to her went unanswered. On one occasion, the tenant drove several hundred miles for a viewing, leaving home at 5am but no-one turned up. A phone call would have been helpful. Sending a text when the negotiator knew he was travelling was not. We were sent repeated requests for information, money and urgent legal confirmations - none of which were necessary had the negotiatior or her colleagues acted professionally. The Branch Manager Justin Barton must bear the greatest responsibility for this. My concerns can be evidenced if this is necessary.

Unprofessional and unhelpful staff. We loved the property we inquired about, but the listing was not transparent hence why I think such a beauty property is still not rented yet and has even been reduced. There is no parking and it is unfurnished, though the listing will not state this. When called to ask, two agents could not point out to the written bit where it says it is unfurnished or furnished, with one condescending agent hanging up the phone.

salford quays barance were the worst letting agents we have been unfortunate enough to have dealings with, if you can avoid them I suggest that you do. the move in inventory was a work of fiction with not a single fault or damage mentioned and the flat was filthy with numerous items of damage and disrepair that they are now trying to claim from us after moving out and leaving the place in better condition that we moved in Jessica was so tardy at arranging repairs that we gave up. never again would we deal with these people

RR advised they couldn’t contact the branch. We took matters into our own hands and contacted St Helens and advised them of the situation and could we come in to scan passports which they agreed…Why are we doing all the running around when paying RR to act dopey and do nothing….There is a fantastic university I’d Durham so why do they have to employ morons in RR Durham…Surely there must be students looking for part-time work!!!!Worse estate agents ever used

Don’t touch with a barge pole!!

Truly awful experience…so unprofessional. Total lack of communication. On completion day, went to drop keys in and office was all locked up! We had been in a few days before to make sure of arrangements and were told there would be someone in their office at all times on completion day. Eventually Luke arrived - he had been for lunch, but there was no-one to cover…unbelievable on a Friday, the most popular day of the week for moving house. Whoever is the manager in Chester needs to realise that we are paying good money for a service, when it shouldn’t be unreasonable to expect someone to actually be on the premises to receive keys from their customers. It gets worse…our buyer went later to collect the keys and the shop was locked up again! It’s 5:30pm now and they still haven’t been able to get the keys. No phone calls to either ourselves or our buyers before hand to explain what was going on - we had to do all the chasing to find out why we were being let down. Begs the question ‘what are we paying for?’ Please avoid this Estate Agent.

First class service from reeds rains in Bridlington. Offered several viewings next day, Letara was informative about the properties, answered any questions gave me lots of time to check everything out. I put in an offer on one of the properties which was dealt with by Miles who was on the ball, and explained everything to me, I felt really confident that it was being dealt with very efficiently. My offer was accepted in a few days and all the paperwork etc. was done very promptly by Letara who again gave an exceptional service. We recently sold our property through Reeds Rains Carrick, and overall, it was a very positive experience. Chris Gabbey, did a fantastic job keeping us updated throughout the selling process. He ensured we were always up to date on what was going on, which we really appreciated. I'm sure it's not easy juggling all the issues with however many properties he has to manage.. an unenviable task! Our only observation was that our property wasn't shared on their social media platforms as we had initially expected based on our early discussions. This was a bit disappointing, as we believed it would have been an effective way to reach more potential buyers. That said, it’s clear that the whole selling process in general could benefit from an overhaul. However, I want to stress that this is no reflection on Reeds Rains or their staff. They did a great job with the resources and systems they have in place. To summarise, despite the few hiccups, we were pleased with the service provided, and we would recommend Reeds Rains Carrickfergus, and I'd like to thank Chris Gabbey for his work throughout.
