GoogleUpon trying to get to the bottom of my returning deposit (of which £200 was wrongly taken backed up by the check out inventory) I met the hurdle of a rude Natalie. Within 10 seconds of being on the phone (never spoken to this woman prior) I was bring rudely spoken to just because I was asking for the landlords contact details as apparently this process is nothing to do with page and co but just the deposit scheme and the landlord directly. Not once during my tenency did I receive contact from my landlord or see him. Now when I need his contact details they were unable to be given to us, but they cannot understand that this is needed. After asking to be spoken to a bit nicer I was met with more rudeness and then Natalie said 'im not dealing with this' and 'Laura will be in contact' and then she hung up. I called back to tell her she hung up before taking any details, she then asked for my details (again with a rude tone) and they were given. I was still talking and then she hung up on me again. I have since tried to call back 3 times almost immediately after and the staff seem to have disappeared. Is this a joke? Trying to con £200 from the deposit and then running away when questions are being asked, is this professional? You decide. I (and im sure you) have felt the urge to be rude to customers in my time working, but the difference is I wasn't rude, and this isn't just a little bit rude.

Response: More lies? Natalie did not tell me not to be rude to her, I told her not to be rude to me. Nor did she go above and beyond, clearly shown in my review where she said 'im not dealing with this' She had an attitude and I feel for you to openly lie about the account of what has happened is a joke. Throughout our tenency there were no problems, I'm not discrediting that. But the behaviour of your staff was completely unacceptable and I would never ever act like this to customers, without expecting to lose my job.

I am sorry that you felt compelled to write such a negative review of us because as we have explained your deposit is between tenant and landlord, we merely put the claim through on behalf of the landlord and you are completely in your rights to disagree. It gets dealt with fairly and responsibly by the deposit scheme that holds your deposit. We do not con anyone, we are a highly respected agency and accredited and bound by the ARLA code of conduct. We are fair to all our clients and strive to ensure our tenants, including our students are well looked after. We do not treat our students any differently and are proud that we have good relationships with all but a few of our groups. We work hard to ensure are students are happy throughout their tenancy and don't have to keep being concerned about maintenance issues whilst studying. Sometimes we have to wait on the instruction of a landlord but the majority of issues we resolve quickly. Maybe you have not appreciated our constant reminders of your groups late rent payments and this is unfortunate. It is unfortunate that I was not in the office when you called, as I would have been able to spare Natalie the upset. Natalie chose not to answer the phone to you when you called after she asked you not to be rude to her and waited until I returned to the office to tell me of the situation. Natalie went above and beyond to send you information on how you can dispute the landlord's claim. I rang you upon my return but no answer. I then followed up with an email. There are always other ways to deal with issues or complaints and we do have a complaints procedure you could have requested at any time throughout your tenancy if you were dissatisfied. I am hoping we can work more constructively together in order to resolve your deposit claim effectively moving forward.

GoogleEDIT: sometimes letting agencies do get stick when it is not entirely their fault, but over the course of the year the degree of quality from page and co has varied. Some of them have been very helpful and nice about certain circumstances such as laura who was very understanding given certain situations. Some are more incompetent such as jak. And one collegue in particular natalie was very rude on the phone to my house mate, putting the phone down on him twice. Whilst i did put up an initial review out of frustration, it hasnt been the first time i have been left frustrated with page and co, with service often being slow and some requests not even being processed. Many items such as the fridge, bin and other kitchen items, were not installed untill about 20 days from the start of the tenancy date, the hoover took over a month. Now sometimes i understand its the landlords fault as well, and it seems he stinged out alot, extremely overcharging on rent, buying cheap goods, and leaving items such as the table and couch in a bad condition. The kitchen and bathroom were outdated, and costs of bills were high in the house. However, the letting agency are part responsible for this when taking on such responsibilities, hence they have failed us. The reason why they have not recieved a one star review is that one of our tenants was late with rent payments on a few occasions and they dealt with it very well, i myself on two occasions told them that i cannot pay on the first of the month and would have to pay when student finance comes in and they were very understanding. Therefore, it is an okay letting agency, maybe we got unlucky with the landlord trying to suck every penny out of students, or maybe it was the short comings of the letting agency in this particular house.

Thank you for your review Bihzad. It is unfortunate when letting agents get caught in the middle of a battle between landlord and tenant over their deposit. As you know we have put a claim through on your landlord's instruction and have explained to you that if you do not agree you have a right to raise a dispute. The property was in good condition when you moved in and we have dealt with any issues raised by you throughout the tenancy. We have had to chase your group constantly throughout the tenancy for rent payments and have had to endure abusive behaviour from one of your group whilst trying to do our job. We are a highly respected agency and give a good service to all our clients. We treat our students with decency and respect, although unfortunately this is not always reciprocated. We do have a complaints procedure and if there was any time during the course of your tenancy that you felt we were not providing a good service to you, then you could have made a complaint through the correct channels. We had to call and email you all frequently for non payment of rent so there was plenty of opportunity to notify us if you were not happy with something. If you wish to discuss this further, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Selling a property at a distance, the team at Page & Co. were exceptionally helpful, from hosting viewings to reading the meter on our behalf to assist wth closing the electricity account, saving us a nearly 200 mile round trip. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Communication was excellent with regular updates by phone and email. By far the most professional and attentive of the agents we approached, Page & Co. would be my agent of choice were I to need the services of an agent in the Canterbury area again.

We had wanted an estate agent who knew the market, the local area and was personable and approachable and Page & Co really fit the bill. Our hopes and expectations have been more than met. All aspects of the sale of our house were handled excellently.
