Highly recommended for managing your properties

I am very glad that I chose Chestertons to let and manage my flat. My property manager Julia Ptooshchenko is fantastic. She is professional and knowledgeable. Not only does she look after me (landlord) well, but she also equally cares about my tenants, which is very impressive! I have had quite a few managing agents over the years with my other properties. Chestertons is by far the best. I would highly recommend Chestertons to any landlords and tenants alike.

Tamara Price- Totally Amazing After a long process of looking for a property, Tamara's support was invaluable in helping us find our perfect new home. Chestertons Property Management - Maida Vale

This is specifically for the Property Management side of their business. In the last year they left us with 'foul water' coming into our kitchen sink and dishwasher for 4.5 months causing my flat mate and I to be ill on several occasions. There was no care or urgency to fix this and seemed to be absolutely no escalation path. This was followed up by 3.5 months of no heating control from Oct 24 till mid Jan 25. This is in no way due to the landlord who has been very good but is now as frustrated as we are and has caused us to leave the flat as we no longer feel safe and treated fairly. On top, they take weeks and weeks to respond to any questions and we eventually had to escalate through the Lettings side to even get a response. Steer well clear. This is in no way a reflection of their Lettings side of their business.

Avoid at all costs

My experience with Chestertons was absolutely shocking. On the move in day I picked up the keys and arrived at the flat with two removalists and their truck full of my things and furniture, only to walk into a building site. Chestertons had over 2 months of time to supervise the renovation works (they also managed the flat and they had absolutely no issue taking 6 months of rent upfront), but they are incredibly incompetent and they simply couldn’t care less. Works kept going for 2 months past the start of the tenancy date. For 2 months I had nowhere to stay and nowhere to store my stuff and furniture. I had to arrange storage and extremely expensive short term accommodation, which to this day still hasn’t been refunded to me by Chestertons/the landlord.Even after I moved in, for 5 months I had no hot water, and no one cared to fix it. It was winter and I had no hot water to shower. Also, the team is probably the most incompetent, rude and arrogant I came across in my whole life. If one is unable to speak to people in a polite way and has no basic manners then perhaps they shouldn’t have a client facing role - or any role at all. This agency is a total joke.

I rented with Chestertons for three years until the landlord decided to sell the property. Everything was managed by Chestertons rather than through the landlord and I had an excellent experience using Chestertons throughout my tenancy. I would love to commend Risida Geeganage who is the Property Manager. She is friendly, professional, very easy to deal with, has great communication and always responds quickly. Any queries or issues I had were immediately resolved. Thanks to Risida the renting process was very easy and stress free. Risida was also extremely kind and helpful after my tenancy ended and returning my initial deposit. I would also like to commend Prue Semba who helped me throughout my initial property search and has always been friendly, charismatic, professional and also goes above and beyond for her clients. Thank you Chestertons for the last three years. I would highly recommend using Chestertons in the future.

Chesterton’s with-held a third of rent for best part of a year

Chesterton’s bought out Featherstone Leigh who sourced our tenants for us and who were great. However….For almost a year Chestertons did not forward the correct rent. They denied this at first, of course, until the tenant was informed and rightly became upset with them. We’re seeing what the property ombudsman says now. Needless to say avoid these clowns like the plague!

I have been impressed with the service of Stephen and his team right from our first interaction in approx 2009 when I was looking for a new property manager. I didn't chose Chestertons then due to their management fees being higher than the company I chose at the time.Stephen stayed in touch every year religously to see if I needed to review my property management. Eventually in approx 2019 that time came, and I went changed over to Chestertons. Rarely write reviews but my recent experience with Amanda Goodman compelled me to. Amanda is able to wear many hats, and is an expert when it comes to managing the relationship between the tenant and the landlord.
