In safe and experienced hands

Having managed an old property letting for 26 years I decided to place the renovation - much needed - and management in the hands of Rebecca Gee at Carter Jonas . She has project managed extensive work , which , although expensive was done to the highest standards and is entirely satisfactory . She understands completely what is required for a successful letting in contrast to what I in the past have chosen according to my own , perhaps antique , tastes. the work was done in a predetermined timeframe and estimates were adhered to . I can certainly recommend Rebecca as a sound adviser and am most grateful to her .

recently completed the sale of Burnfoot Avenue with Carter Jonas and cannot thank Leo and the team enough for their support throughout the process. Leo was professional, proactive, responsive and always willing to pick up the phone and talk things through when needed. His communication was excellent from start to finish, and he consistently kept things moving during what became a complex and sometimes stressful transaction. What stood out most was that I always felt Leo genuinely cared about achieving the best outcome and was prepared to go the extra mile when challenges arose. His advice was calm, practical and honest, which made a huge difference throughout the sale. I would also like to mention Maddie in the office, who was incredibly helpful and supportive. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and she went out of her way to assist with administrative issues and paperwork when I needed help. That level of personal service is rare and very much appreciated. I would have no hesitation in recommending Leo, Maddie and the Carter Jonas team to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, professional and genuinely supportive estate agency. Accommodating, Straightforward, Reasonable

The letting agent we worked with, Tanya Hall, was just fantastic -- a real pleasure to work with. Besides being friendly and straightforward and accommodating in showing the property, she followed through consistently at every stage of the letting process. It was (to me) a complicated process--perhaps we were a complicated case--and Tanya was always there to answer questions promptly, to reassure, and to step in to make sure the process proceeded smoothly when it looked as if it otherwise would not. It was a pleasure and a relief to feel that we were in safe hands, that there was human reasonableness instead of an irrational and inflexible 'bureaucratic system' to engage with--and a great pleasure to find when it was all done that our confidence was well-placed.

Unfortunately I live in an owned property next to a rental property managed by this agent. In 17 years of owning my property every single tenant has caused me problems, the present ones are the worst yet. In the 15 months they have lived there they have received a letter from Environmental Health requesting they be considerate to neighbours (loud bass music in house and garden) had 2 visits by police and were finally served A Community Protection Warning (which they have breached)

Tenants are not treated as 'customers' in my experience.

I'd be positive if I could be, but I feel like a cash cow and not a customer. The previous agents engaged me in rent reviews, I felt like a valued tenant to them and the owner. For reasons I don't know, they were ousted by Carter Jonas last year 'and then the problems started'. 18% rise last year! These agents just assert rises. They set other houses at a high rent, then point AT THEIR OWN HOUSES to argue the prices have gone up. I sent a reply to their rent proposal this year, they claimed my proposal did 'not comply with tenancy law'. They admit market rate for my house last year has come down (the ONS data says so, too), yet they want more rent from me. 'Go figure' ! They like to assert things and don't seem to like you challenging them. Maybe they think the tenants work for them? They aggressively push rental prices for sitting tenants that my neighbours felt they had to leave, and the owner lost thousands when Carter Jonas could not find any renters at the price they were asking, so had to drop the rate again! What a waste. If they'd just had sensible rises, the owner would have ended up with more money and happy tenants!

Quality rather than quantity - works for me!

Listed in June, not a million viewers but given that we had an intervening (and disruptive) election and budget the 3 views we had gave 2 repeat views and an offer in August. I am happy to have quality rather than quantity! Also kept us informed of the progress of the sale - a better option sometimes than relying on your conveyancer/solicitor. Helped liaise with the buyer, and finally got us over the line! Happy days and a new adventure on the horizon with our next project house!

Awful service

Awful service! I went to view a house with my 17 year old son and we really liked it. We dealt with Nyah from the Shrewsbury office and I got the impression that she immediately discriminated against us. She was giving us false figures to try and put us off saying the deposit was higher than it worked out at, also that the council tax was 2 grand higher than it actually is! It was as if she did not believe we could afford such a house. Then told me that as we are both self employed we would have to prove income for 3 years. As I knew this was not correct, my husband phoned a few days later and she told him self employed was fine and we’d need to provide bank statements for 1 year for referencing and would he like to apply for the house. He asked why she had told me completely different information and she got completely defensive and then said we could not apply. Good luck to the landlords with her being in charge of managing their property.

Sam Jarvis was brilliant in the acquisition of the rental for our 2 bed property in Fulham. We wouldn't be living where we are now if he wasn't as quick and efficient with his email replies, always giving us in depth and great answers for any questions we had regarding the property. Naturally, renting somewhere for the first time in London was a tough experience, but having an agent like Sam who was extremely helpful and understanding with his replies made the process so much easier. Despite being worried about finding a flat in London in the current state of the housing market, CJ made it easy for us to view the flat, did not pressure us to make an offer which made us feel comfortable, and when we did decide to make an offer they, especially Sam, were helpful in letting us know next steps. I also emailed several times with loads and loads of questions which were all answered quickly and with clarity which made me feel better about the whole process.
