Avoid Renting at all if disabled.

Myself and family have been living in a 4 bedroom house rented firstly by Fox property's which was outstanding.And then Martin&co took hold of the management which is where it went totally horrible.The lettings manager Laura Gillet at the southend on Sea branch is one of the most arrogant horrible people I have ever come across.We have an extremely overgrown tree in the rear garden and has caused pigeons to crap everywhere so can't sit in the,garden properly.I constantly complained about the situation and was eventually trimmed over 4 years ago I have spoken to them again and Laura's reply was it's in the contract for the tenants to maintain all works that need doing to the trees and bushes and for myself that is disabled due to spinal fusion on L4 L5 And had 2 hip replacements we also had a problems with mice due to living near fields And her reply it's in the tenants contract so you deal with it they eventually sent someone round and all he Done is put wire wool into some holes the mice where in the cupboards underneath the floors I complained again about the tree and wallop Section 21 for us to leave the house after 8 yrs living here no rent arrears no trouble at all we are being evicted with no reason pls keep away from them they ruin lives and send horrible emails saying the house stinks of dogs after 16 inspections the house now stinks we have had dog ever since moving in Pls Avoid

What an amazing experience with Dayna at the Prestwich Branch

What an incredible experience we have had with Dayna from Martin and Co! From the beginning, Dayna went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and show you the house. She even took time out of her busy life to show us around on a Saturday. Her friendly and approachable nature made us feel comfortable, and she patiently answered all of our questions. Diabolical estate agent. The Fulham Rd, London branch should not be allowed to operate as a business and judging by the other reviews, class action should be in order. Reporting it to the property ombudsman, but really, the agency needs to be stripped of its license to operate - it's a license to rob essentially

Unable to clean rented property as…

Unable to clean rented property as washer inlet seized open. Water was switched off at mains to avoid flooding. Reported to Martin & Co but not fixed in time I needed to vacate. Email from them stated not a problem as property being sold. Now want £500 cleaning fee. I mentioned no water supply and they said YOU SHOULD HAVE FETCHED BUCKETS OF WATER FROM NEIGHBOURS!!!

Taking and accepting multiple holding deposits at once.Mine was requested and paid/received/accepted within 4mins, but apparently someone else paid before me - then don't request mine!! Also lying about confirming a viewing as the lady had driven away and wasn't there when i turned up 20mins early (she had to come back). I had no correspondence since the viewing confirmation 5 days prior.

When I set out to relocate back in November 2018 I already knew of the tedious task I had ahead. A million and one phone calls from estate agents whilst at work, questions and answers to a new estate agent every single time I enquired on a property. Fishing me into viewing everything and anything, even when told I was not interested.. Although I knew I had to relocate, I avoided pretty much all contact and gave up in the end with estate agents as no one ever got back to me with properties that suited my needs, which was vital. However, with a very patient, professional and empathetic Raymond Veljkovic I finally found a property I was looking for (and an estate agent I was happy to do business with). Raymond viewed a property with me back in January initially and probably gathered I had needs/wants back then. He kept in touch but not in a way where I felt bothered and hounded by his calls, emails (as I had been previously by others). Only ever with good properties and helpful advice. Ray also took matters into his own hands when my situation and budget changed and suggested alternative methods of deposit schemes and without this advice, I would still be unhappy living in a property which was no longer suitable for me. I would like to commend Ray for his fantastic customer service and professionalism from start to finish. Something so stressful for me personally has been made very easy and smooth sailing straight through. Having worked in a sales environment for just under 3 years, I am aware of how people are often quick to complain but not quick enough to applaud excellent service. Ray Veljkovic is a credit to Martin Co and Camberely and I will be recommending the business, Ray in particular to my work colleagues and friends around me. Thank you for all your hard work and patience, I will without doubt come to you again in the future on my next property hunt. Holly Yeomans.

We are in the process of purchasing a house through Martin n Co Camberley. We are already renting a property for last 2.5 years through them and now they are helping us to find our own first family home. Of particular mention is Raymond. He is indeed the best of the bestest agents i have ever spoken to. My husband and I, are more than thrilled with the level of support, guidance, understanding and general professionalism he offered. He always get backs and replies to emails amd calls promptly. I remember last year i needed a document urgently for my visa and he personally dropped in that letter for me at our home. He is very patient and finalized our deal in just 1 week and helped us in finding what we needed. We are hoping all goes well with the purchase. But still we can't thank Raymond Veljkovic enough for all the support and patience he gave us through this otherwise stressful process. Due to him alone, we will be recommending Martin n Co. and if in future we need to upsize our house we shall definitely be using Martin n Co only because of Raymond. Not your 'typical agent' Right from when Ray came out to value our property I realised that Martin & Co were different to the others. There was no pressure and no 'sales pitch'. We got full asking price for our property and Ray was accessible by phone and email whenever I needed help but if he wasn't, Giles stepped in. Always someone on the end of the phone and a good honest agency to deal with. Would happily recommend.

Martin & Co, Richard Hall is the owner who try to withhold deposits also shared illegal photos of my possessions to a third party. And then lied to me. They cause a 73 year old to have a heart attack and think saying sorry is enough, while still trying to withhold a deposit. This company needs to be stopped.

I don't even want to give this company one star

I don't even want to give this company 1 star. Myself and my partner have had awful experiences with Martin and Co. we rented a property from them for 2 years. The fees were extortionate upon moving in to the property but due to our circumstances we just paid up. When we had issues with the property it took them weeks to respond (to the point where the landlady came and solved the problems herself). After our annual contract ended they charged us to renew our contract although when we moved out the paper work stated we were on a rolling contract all along. Upon leaving the property we spent a full day cleaning. There was no damage and the property was left in pristine condition. Martin and co even commented on how well we looked after the property then proceed to charge us almost £200 in 'cleaning fees'. I wouldn't recommend Martin and Co to anybody unless you wish to be ripped off.

I'm only leaving one star because I can't leave no stars! Contacted the Saltaire office trying to book a rental viewing for my mother, bearing in mind she is 78 and a non-driver. I was told that I couldn't book a viewing after 4pm or on a weekend! When I explained that I travel to the US frequently and would find it hard to take my mother to a viewing under these circumstances, was told that I should book time off work! What a shocking way to run a business and teh person on the other end of the phone couldn't have been less inerested if she tried.

Untrustworthy, impatient and arrogant

Agents were at first friendly, until unavoidable delays (we had kept them fully informed as we were travelling a fair distance) meant they thought it was acceptable to dismiss our viewing in the space of 10 minutes after saying the delays were fine. If delays truly were problematic, they should have mentioned this rather than come across as excessively arrogant and rude to anyone who doesn't fit their Cinderella's shoe. Additionally they were entirely unresponsive following this and unwilling to reschedule, so clearly aren't actively interested in homing those who need it.After the amount of time, money and effort wasted due to their nature, I can assure that I'll never be interacting with Martin & Co again as well as warding off those seeking properties.Thankful to have missed this pitfall.

Solihull Birmingham branch. Fab letting agent so much more efficient than my previous who really didn’t care for their tenants. I was kept up to date constantly with our application and asked a ton of questions which were all answered. Fees a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Laura is fab. Just let a property from Martin and co and the way they deliver is excellent. I was shown round many properties that day by many other agencies and the letting agent at Martin and co. Louise Pearce was one of the reasons I let the property. So helpful, I wasn’t rushed, given all the information I needed and it was easy to do. Everything was wonderful to the point where they got your money but then they show little to no interest at all. Asking for illegal premiums like reservation fee or whatever they called it and made us pay for the credit check at first. (Check your rights people) When moving out of course asked for money but when asked where is that money gonna go got no real answer. They should be able to tell you how your money is spend is they ask for it. They found a scratch in front of the fireplace and that’s it. Never trust these people ever again.

Shocking service!!

I had struggled to get hold of the estate agents for 6 days, when i finally got hold of someone they told me they were understaffed! I arranged my viewing for today at 12.. im still at the property at 12.30 with no email, no phonecall to state that they were held up or not coming at all!!! Absolutely disgusting service!! Noone is answering any calls from the office, despite them closing at 13.00! Im shocked how you are still in buisness i really am! I confirmed that i wanted to put the holding fee down after i have seen the property but they cant even be asked to turn up! livid!!

Try other agents first- this company very discourteous

My experience when seeking to rent through their Battersea Reach office was very poor. I expressed interest in a property but calls and messages all unanswered. Spoke to Jem who said they didn’t do viewings and I should rely on video. Promised to send form and never did. Very arrogant and treated rudely. Try other agents where you will be treated with courtesy.
