TrustpilotPraise for Peter at the Worcester branch
My husband and I would like to give our deepest thanks for the efforts of Peter Newitt. He did an amazing job of matching us with the perfect rental property. He is very perceptive at matching landlords with tenants. Through Peter keeping who we are and what we were hoping for in mind he found us our dream place after just one previous viewing. By this point we'd had viewings with various other local estate agents and we can state categorically that Peter is of a calibre that you'd hope to find but rarely do. Professional, genuine and delivers.

GoogleMy experience with Martin & Co Camberley has been extremely frustrating and, at times, very stressful.
From the outset of my tenancy, I encountered significant disrepair issues that were not addressed within a reasonable timeframe. For example, I was unable to properly access the garden because the door lock was broken when I moved in, and it took approximately three months for this to be resolved. I also reported issues with no heating and leaking windows in the sitting room. It took around four months for anyone to attend regarding the windows, and to this day, there has been no proper resolution to the heating issue. As a result, the sitting room has been effectively unusable due to how cold it is.
Despite raising these concerns multiple times, matters were consistently delayed, with little urgency or effective action taken, causing ongoing inconvenience.
A particular concern was my interaction with the branch manager, Diane. When I attended the office to discuss these issues, I felt I was spoken over, not listened to, and treated in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. I was not given a fair opportunity to explain my concerns, which only added to the frustration.
After raising a formal complaint regarding this conduct, I was subsequently served with a Section 21 notice. I understand that this type of notice does not require the landlord to provide a reason; however, from my perspective, I have met all of my obligations as a tenant, including paying rent in full and on time and not breaching the terms of my tenancy. This has made the situation feel particularly unfair.
Since then, there have been further actions and communications that I consider unnecessary and disproportionate, which have caused considerable stress and disruption.
Overall, I found the conduct at this branch to be unprofessional, unresponsive, and lacking in fairness. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution and to keep thorough records when dealing with this agency.

The process of searching for and acquiring a rental property can be extremely challenging and stressful, but when you are assigned an agent who’s willing to work with you to find that property, then work with your interests in mind, that makes the process that little bit easier, my agent Ryan McKenzie was that person.thank you Ryan,

From start to finish this has been the most efficient, respectful and informative process I could have asked for from Martin and co. The professionalism of the team at egham especially Jasmine Gahunia has been of the highest standard and I’ve so much gratitude for the way it’s been handled. All stress and worry was taken care of and left me convinced my best interests were at heart. Even with it being at Christmas the speed at which it was all done shows exceptional standards. Would recommend this company and team to anyone looking to rent, buy or sell.

I have dealt with Janet from Hinckley branch for my house sale. She has been absolutely amazing always contactable, poilte kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help us and settle my mind when issues occurred with the property sale, she also helped us to get the sale completed and contacted buyers solictors countless times when they where being really unhelpful. We are really grateful for all her work.

GoogleI have had a very positive experience with Martin & Co Camberley. From the initial viewing to moving in, everything was handled professionally and smoothly. Special thanks to Louis Mundy for being extremely kind and supportive throughout the viewing and paperwork process and to Chantal Regan and Diane Peacock for their quick, professional responses in resolving issues with the oven and kitchen sink, both were dealt with efficiency by arranging the right professionals to fix the problems on time.
The only area of difficulty was with Martin & Co’s partner company Vouch, whose guarantor process felt unnecessarily complicated and caused some personal stress. I hope Martin & Co can work with them to streamline the process for future tenants by ensuring that they contact the Guarantor 'just once' in the overall reference process.
That said, I am extremely happy with Martin & Co’s service and responsiveness. I’ve now been in this property for nearly 3 months and have rented through Martin & Co across cities for about 20 months, always with good experiences. Thank you to the team for making the letting process as smooth as possible!

TrustpilotThe only good experience is when you aren't interacting with them
Sent harassing emails to entire flat building during tenancy; expecting tenants to maintain the building in a way that is clearly the landlords responsibility. Would also try and sell us 3rd party insurance coverage to cover "damage" that falls under wear-and-tear, so the cost would not fall onto them. When we first moved in there was a clear fire hazard (exposed wires hanging from the ceiling with running electric), that after requesting maintenance for, was told it was a known issue for months. Oven upon move in was essentially broken, with the top heating elements bent at a 90 degree angle into the oven, and it produced a bad smell. Hob on top was rusting off. Was told that because it was "technically working" they didnt have to replace it. They finally replaced it after 6 months, but only when we emailed them saying they were infringing on our rights as tenants. Bad at communication for viewings when we were moving out. Also, the woman I turned my keys into on the last day was EXTREMELY rude, mocking me, and overall completely condescending and snarky for no reason when there was a small issue of keys not matching their inventory. The keys issue was resolved quickly as it was my housemate who had misplaced a key, but Martin and co were absolutely no help in resolving it and were horrible to deal with. Landlords are evil.

GoogleI have rented twice in Surrey. Both through Martin & Co. I have found them friendly, honest and responsive and would class them as an example of what a good estate agent should be. I’m about to move in to my new property next week , and have been helped, listened to and even championed. Jevon has been fantastic help and highly professional throughout the whole process. I would highly recommend them!

TrustpilotMartin and Co Oxford & Thame
Martin and Co Oxford & Thame: Not that any estate agent cares about a bad review but, what a joke, as a landlord, you try to be nice, you try to treat people with respect but clearly its just about money. I have spent countless hours chasing money due to financial errors on M & C side and I still have yet to get it back. Repairs have been done in my flat without my permission, so I just receive bills for things I wasn't even aware were broken. Emails ignored, calls ignored, communication = zero.Just absolutely rubbish but then, Not my first estate agent that has been like this. I have

TrustpilotI viewed a property at Bestwood Village
I viewed a property (House) at Bestwood Village as i am very eager to move there. The agent showing me the property put me forward for an application right there on the spot after i told her i was desperate to live in this area to be close to relatives. On viewing I mentioned one concern about the bath panel needing repair but there were several other minor concerns i was prepared to deal with myself on moving in. Once i had been put forward for the tenancy everything seemed to run smoothly until it came to being handed the keys. It was only after paying the deposit and getting the keys that i was told there was an inventory attached to the contract with repairs that were pending. I took my own photos and added these to an email and sent them to the agency and the landlord.

This letting agent in Coalville is absolutely horrible. Throughout my tenancy, they were always unresponsive, care less about the tenants, and even breached their own contract. They refused to return my deposit and showed zero professionalism. I strongly advise anyone to avoid renting through them.

TrustpilotWorst company ever
If i could give zero stars i would, please please NEVER rent using this company. They do not care about you they only want your money. Got Mould? Has ur boiler exploded ? Or want a nice clean apartment when u move in? Yea nah they do not care im afraid, all this stuff happened to us, when we moved in the house was disgusting, the washer cupboard had like crusty carpet (and im no princess i can make do but bro it was so disgusting) like 10 year old hoovers covered in mould, trash bags with ripped out blinds in, all the bathroom cupboards had mould in and the legs on the bed were like snapped and the light in the bedroom wasn’t attached either it was such a safety hazard and now these guys have the nerve to ask us for money towards a cleaning service for the next people when i know theyre just going to keep the money and leave it. I left that apartment c l e a n too! Oh yea and when we moved in the water wasn’t even attached to the washing machine properly so we had an apartment flood which happened like 4 times while we were there, 2 was the washer just spitting so much water and 1 time the boiler exploded water everywhere to the point half the walls doors and frames all swelled up! and i swear it was the reason i got a lung infection cus there was so much mould and water in the air bro AND THEY STILL ASKED US FOR MONEY!!! I swear im not a dramatic person, i cleaned that apartment so much and im very understanding but it got to a point where it was just ridiculous and you’re paying all this money and nothing but the bare minimum ever got done! And i had to email so much to even get that! For real if you want your sanity, just go with literally anyone else!

Google❌🔴 Do not waste your time with this agency🔴❌
I had a very disappointing experience. I called three separate times to arrange a viewing for a property, and each time I was told that a colleague would contact me shortly, but no one ever did.
On my last call, I clearly explained that I had already contacted you twice before and received the same response without any follow-up. The representative assured me she would pass my details to the sales team and that someone would contact me, but unfortunately, that still didn’t happen.
This lack of communication is very frustrating and unprofessional.

TrustpilotRubbish
Well, I know that the staff are leaving the company, but an Estate Agents job is to keep their clients informed of all aspects of their sale and to liaise with the solicitors. There was no communication for 4 weeks and having found out that the perspective buyer had pulled out of the sale after 2 weeks. To say the least I was very disappointed. Moving forward I would not use this company or recommend it. As I am not a vindictive person, I will not be mentioning any staff names that I had dealt with.

GoogleThank you Martin&Co, especially Ben Luckett, for helping me and my family find and secure a very suitable place to stay here in Camberley. We've arrived in the UK on the 27th of Jan and was able to move into the property on the 11th of Feb! I was really amazed at how our transactions went on smoothly. Ben has been doing a great job and providing extra mile of his service. Apart from that, we do have a very kind and supportive landlord. We will treasure this wonderful experience forever. A million thanks again, Ben!

Communication is key when moving into a new property and Ben has always been consistent with us and given us regular updates and answered any questions we had in a timely manner.
We've moved houses previously and I would probably say this has been the best experience so far with an agency, I look forward to continuing our relationship with them and would recommend them highly if you're looking for a smooth process when moving into a new home.

TrustpilotWorst tenancy ever
The agency does not provide any support or help throughout the tenancy period. I have been charged with nonsense expenses such as a part of my initial deposit been taken for unnecessary cleaning although the apartment was left in a far better condition than at the beginning of the tenancy. Also the agency did not provide any help in moving out and I had to contact all the utilities suppliers on my own.Bureaucracy is a nightmare and prices unfair. Sleeping under a bridge is a far better option

TrustpilotThe worst estate agent going
The worst estate agent going - Martin and Co Folkestone / Dover. Please avoid this estate agents - they allowed me and my partner to live in housing disrepair for 2+ years we had someone come round once to de mould using de mould spray and fit a vent in the bathroom which caused the mould to get incredibly worse, Matt done a property assessment with NO notice and made out we was the problem with a comment ‘ do you even turn on the vent ‘ I explained it had got worse since that being fitted ( we later found out this was fitted incorrectly ) so we was treated poorly over a mistake from there contractor. We had cried out for help on multiple occasions and had been ignored. Every time someone visited they said how bad the mould was and to avoid sleeping in the bedroom being a small house we ended up having use of half the house. We got desperate and thought to withhold rent ( this was done once over the 3 years we stayed ) still nothing done and we sent up a rent arrears payment plan. After living in a property not suitable for even a animal, me being allergic to mould and them not caring, we informed of our pregnancy and begged for this to be sorted prior to baby arriving low and behold a no fault eviction given. ( no support given during this time from them ) We have had to push the final payment of arrears back by 4 weeks to help with a deposit on a new home Katie was incredibly rude and seems to care more about £125 then a family about to become homeless. Trying to speak to anyone there is incredibly hard, they fail to take care of the tenants, the only way to get somebody to contact you is when you don’t pay something ( suddenly the replies become very quick with this and extremely rude ) Please do your research and avoid them where possible ( especially if you have children and if house has a history of mould / disrepair ) The last 2 and a bit years since these issues started we have lived in hell, my mental health being at its lowest, we have been actively trying to get out for ages but have struggled finding another property, we asked Martin and Co for help on this as overall as tenants we have been good except missing one months payment over a course of 37 months. Begging for help doesn’t make us bad tenants, the property disrepair is not on us we have paid out of our own pockets multiple times to sort things. Martin and Co treated us like animals and expected us to clearly live like one to.

TrustpilotAvoid them at all costs!
If I could give 0 stars I would - I implore everyone to avoid martin&co like the plague if you can because they are the worst estate agents I’ve ever come across. They act nice at first and then as soon as they’ve got your money and signature, they don’t care. Lynn and Sean were the rudest most inconsiderate people, both of them have huge attitude problems, and talk to you like you’re dirt on your shoe. They trick you into thinking the property you’re signing onto is all fine and good to go, and then the second you move in it falls apart because it’s all cheaply done and they cut corners for everything (as confirmed by their own handyman!). The first day I moved in the power wouldn’t work and I got told it wasn’t an emergency even though all the food in my fridge and freezer was ruined. They also never respond to emails, I had to constantly chase for months and months to get even the tiniest jobs done, and the big jobs like fixing a mould issue took over a year for them to actually get someone on it and still it was never properly fixed. No matter how calm and reasonable you are to them, they are rude and aggressive in return and then when they’ve ended the call in a huff, when you have to speak to them again they actually try to gaslight you into thinking you were also contributing with the same temper as they were (luckily I always have witnesses for my phone calls and so I knew that wasn’t true!). Lynn and Sean are clearly two very narcissistic people. They also steal your deposit for no good reason - I wish I had read the reviews before signing with them as there are tonnes of people saying the say things, so it’s obviously an ongoing scheme they pull with all their tenants, they will rob you blind. They regularly inspect the property and say everything is fine and looks good, and then turn around at the end and try to take your whole deposit because they know they can get away with it. So in summary: beware and stear clear! And if you have no choice, then at least make sure to document everything, record conversations, and take pictures of everything, so you can at least beat them at their own game.

TrustpilotMoved into this property with my…
Moved into this property with my partner to find it was a complete and utter state. When I viewed the property over 1 month prior to moving in, they said that they would clean the black mould from the bathroom which was fine. What a shock when we moved in to find the black mould was still there and the entire flat was a mess and hadn't been cleaned at all. My partner had to take 2 days off work because of stress and physical exhaustion from all the cleaning. There was no sense of urgency from their side when we called to stress how bad the flat was. They've still not resolved the issue and we have been in the flat for almost 1 week now. We continuously have to wear a face mask when we use the bathroom. It just makes me wonder how they can run a business like this and don't seem care at all. The bottom line is that the flat should have been cleaned and checked over before they handed over the keys, it's not rocket science.
