Appalling company

Appalling company, they have messed me about for 5 months reduced the price of my property without my permission then agreed a sale price well below my reduced price and put sold on their sign. James the manager is full of waffle informing me he’d get the property I was buying reduced to !!!! It would then keep this buyer on board, I said that was undare but they did it anyway. When I found my ideal next move the time came to instruct solicitors and proceed with the sale we called but rarely got our calls returned ...when they did eventually call me 3 times with silly reasons my buyer couldn't proceed yet 1 away with his children 2 away with workFinally they were sorry but he’s going back to his wife5 months of having "sold" on my house to now having to start again IT WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE WITH ROMANS: they lied to cover their mistakes all through the time you are dealing with them They are now under investigation it was shown on South today !!

Definitely the worst estate agent

Definitely the worst estate agent. I was looking to purchase a flat in a different town (Basingstoke). We had 2 viewings booked. When we got to the property, the tenant was surprised because she was not notified that we were coming. For the second property they didn't have a key and they didn't know where it was. They promised a call back. After 2 weeks of waiting I called them to check on it and they still didn't have a key and they promised another call back. After 3 weeks of no calling, I called them, they promised another call back. I feel I need to chase them that I want to buy something and even then they do not do anything to take me as a buyer. I am not sure how they make their profit, but not with great customer services, for sure.

Attended an auction run by Romans…

Attended an auction run by Romans today. Beforehand I was told by a Romans employee that properties are typically going for auction at the moment at around 10% above the guide price. Result? Every lot went for about 30%-50% above the guide price. Thus, a 200-400% lie(?) to get you in the room and wasting money on surveys.Had you won you'd have to pay over £1000 in "auction fee", if you bought 5 times, you pay the fee 5 times!

Rented a house through Romans

Rented a house through Romans, wasn’t professionally cleaned and had damages that weren’t fixed before we moved in, Romans didn’t even do a routine check like they are meant to. Since leaving the property Romans have tried to charge us for everything that was wrong when we moved in! Whenever we complained nothing was sorted. We are now having to follow a long and painful complaints process while I’m heavily pregnant to fight for what we don’t even owe. The Reading Romans branch were not interested and just passed it on to a debt company. Romans do not look after their tenants and it’s all money money money. Most unprofessional company I have ever come across. My advise would be to avoid!

1 star is generous

1 star is generous. Whilst the estate agents are OK at best, the property manager, Caroline Hay, is less than useless.It was a condition of my lease that certain repairs were to be made, it is now about 2 months later and I still have a broken balcony door leaving the lounge unsecure with the cold winter air entering all day long.Add to that aspects such as faulty wiring, outdated heating and mould I would suggest any potential tenants and landlords stear clear of Romans

Fantastic job. Keep it up

I have been using estate agents for years to let my properties and I recently found Roman and they give the best rate with the best service. Hettie and Ema have always been prompt in responding to my emails and queries with satisfactory answers. We had not been able to let the property and they went through a list of what needed doing in order to promote the house and it worked! It was let within the first viewing. They both have always been on hand and ready for anything including picking up the keys from my house and giving me a lift to the house for our appointment when my car was in the garage, Absolutely helpful with fantastic results. I certainly cant find any letting agent to top that. Keep up the fantastic work. Sam T

I would actually give them no star

I would actually give them no star, even minus star! Had the worst experience renting with Romans. They are nowhere near professional. They probably don't even know the word 'professional'. After living in our flat for a few years, we were told that we could not stay anymore because the letting agency/landlord did not want to pay for an HMO license. So we started looking for other places. Then they unsurprisingly changed their mind and would like us to stay again. But they messed up with obtaining an HMO before the deadline. So we were kicked out eventually. During the last few months, they had been extremely horrible and unprofessional! On the day when the photographer was supposed to visit and take photos for their new adverts, I called to say I would not like them to visit anymore. They agreed to cancel the visit. But in the end, the photographer still visited when I was not in. They not only took photos, but also hid my dirty laundry under my duvet and made my bed. What a great person! I need more people like this to come to my flat and make my bed without my permission! It was not until we questioned the letting agency, they apologised that they could not reach the photographer on the day. Apparently someone is very good at their job! So if you would like to be kicked out just because someone does not want to pay a little bit extra money for a license, or, you would like someone to make your bed without your permission, then Romans is your best and only choice!

Without a doubt the worst experience I…

Without a doubt the worst experience I have had with a property company - both Sales and Lettings. Gross negligence from start to finish. As an overseas Landlord I was sold the “fully” managed service. Well what a fool I was, the tenant missed 3 months rent, Romans didn’t even mention it, I flagged it to them!! I served notice, tenant scarpers and leaves the place in a mess. Romans contributed NOTHING to the whole process - in fact they let it happen. Beyond, and I mean way beyond terrible, please please please do not give this company your hard earned money!

Abysmal service and terrible company

Since Romans took over managing our property we have had terrible service, and certainly not what was expected from how they portray themselves on the website. So Caveat Emptor when letting through this company! Their communication is poor ignoring many of our emails. Our property manager has either not been properly trained or is just inept. They have no senior directors prepared to answer our complaints and these were just handed down to more junior staff. The lack of service has cost us dearly in terms of money and time and we are not using them anymore.

Roamans Surveyors are rubbish

The only reason I'm giving this lot a 1 star is because I could not choose no stars as a rating.I did my survey on a property I bought through Romans, the report was detailed but just crap, the surveyor clearly didn't know what he was doing and just made up stuff. I wrote a fairly long paragraph about there being no evidence of Japanese Knotweed on the property even though there were old stems three feet high clearly visible. I would not use this lot, they do nothing for their fee and their surveyors are poorly qualified.

Awful service from Romans Winchester

Awful service from Romans Winchester. If you want to let DO NOT use them! Emails and requests are ignored. Lies told! We’re told everything would be removed and sorted prior to our move in date (3 days after the start of our tenancy) yet nothing done. At our new house until 2am cleaning and removing a washing machine which we were promised wouldn’t be there. Previous tenants white goods still in our house, unclean. We’ve had to remove a washing machine ourselves and are likely going to have to remove all the rubbish ourselves. Absolute joke of a company and completely ruined our moving in to our first house.
