TrustpilotAvoid: Years of unresolved damp and unprofessional conduct
I had a very difficult experience with Property World regarding ongoing damp and mould that persisted throughout my tenancy. When I sought help from The Property Ombudsman, they unfortunately could only consider certain timeframes, meaning the majority of this multi-year issue could not be formally ruled upon. I found the agency's conduct to be unprofessional. Communication was often disorganised; staff frequently got names wrong and at times seemed to question why they were even being contacted regarding these valid concerns. I also felt pressured to sign fixed-term contracts that they claimed were "non-negotiable," which disregarded my right to remain on a rolling contract. I am sharing this so other tenants, current and prospective, are aware of my experience with the practices here. Be aware that the formal redress system may not be able to help with long-term issues due to strict time limits. One star is too many. In my opinion, Property World have disregard for tenants, looking at turning profit rather than providing homes fit for living.

Recently, I had an issue with the boiler, which could have been a major inconvenience, but my property manager handled it swiftly and efficiently. The problem was resolved in no time, and I really appreciated how smoothly everything was sorted out. Every time I've had to contact Propertyworld, the communication has been polite, professional, and prompt. They truly care about making sure everything runs smoothly for their tenants. GoogleUpdate: Thank you for responding to my review. The problem is not whether or not I get accepted by the landlord, but the lack of feedback and follow up from your company. The comment on my personal situation, such as how I am "relatively new to the UK and at the time, not working" is also not that relevant. The focus is on how I wasted my precious time on viewings after which the agent just ghosted me. For your information, I have offered to pay rent upfront, given that I am not working full time at the moment. So, this will not necessarily put me in a disadvantage compared to other applicants. But again, the discussion is not on how strong or weak my position is as a candidate, but the lack of response from your agents. Yes, I am thankful that you waited for me for 30 min to do the viewing. But the viewing is in fact futile in retrospect, because no one followed up. If you are not interested in taking me as a potential applicant, then please say so, and don't tell me to submit my application and pay the holding deposit as it is "first come, first served". Anyway, thank you for getting back to me here on this platform and I do wish that your company could improve your service in the future. Original review: The service this company offers is poor and unresponsive. The viewings were arranged promptly, but there was NO follow up afterwards whatsoever. In fact, after the viewing, I was told by the director Richard to place an offer through email with my details if I was interested. I sent him an email within one hour having viewed the flat as I would like to pay the holding deposit. On the phone, Richard said he would go through my email and give me a response tomorrow morning. But, by tomorrow morning, there was no response. It was only a few days later when I did another viewing that I bumped into RIchard, and he told me the landlord needed more time to consider the various offers. He said he would let me know when he had updates. Unfortunately, it has been TWO WEEKS so far, and he has not responded to my email, or given me a follow up. The SAME sitation happened with another flat that I did a viewing through propertyworld. Again, after viewing, I was told that there were many people interested in the flat, and if I am interested, place an offer through email. AGAIN, NO FOLLOW UP AT ALL. Given the highly competitive and time sensitive nature of renting in London, with bidding wars everywhere and avaliability given to whoever who first pays the holding deposit, how could the letting agent not respond quickly, or in fact, not respond at all? If the landlord decides not to rent to me, please at least follow up and let me know? Overall, time wasted, and very frustrated with the lack of response and communication from the director of the company. If there is the problem of communication even in the viewing phase, if you do end up renting with propertyworld, and have problems with repairs in your flat, will the people at this company even follow up in a timely manner? I have my doubts. Fortunately, I have secured my place having found another letting agent company that is a lot more responsive, professional and communicative.

Samson I have replied to you directly and as I said I would, I am now responding to your review on this platform. I have apologised to you directly for the lack of feedback after you placed two offers with us. On the first, as I explained, the landlord took far longer than we had hoped to decide, but ultimately chose another person. On the second property we had 12 offers including yours. Again, the landlord preferred another candidate. I accept as a company we failed to keep you informed as we normally would. In a extremely competitive letting market, your position, being relatively new to the UK and at the time, not working, put you at a disadvantage when other applicants were in a stronger position. We did all we could to assist you, including waiting for you for over 30 minutes after our final viewing on one occasion because your train was delayed. I am pleased you have now managed to secure accommodation, I apologise again for the lack of feedback, and I wish you the best of the luck for the future. Richard Crowley

GoogleGreat service and great staff. I have just bought a flat in south London through Property World and I am happy to say we got the sale over just before Christmas. This was in part thanks to the very kind and hard working staff at Property World. I really do mean it, if they did not go the extra mile to get this over the line then I would have had to wait another 3 - 4 weeks delaying everything else and costing me much more money. So!
