About Eden Harper Brixton
Eden Harper was started in 2002 with the opening of our Battersea office by Richard Symes and 2 other directors - Ajaye Gopal joined us replacing the other 2 original directors in 2005. Our ethos was very much to provide a more personalised service, with both directors having worked previously for large corporates, they felt that individual attention to detail was often missing. Richard and Ajaye also wanted to develop long term relationships with clients, so that when it came to dealing with a landlord, tenant or returning vendor, that client knew they could expect the same level of service and a familiar smiling face. This has been helped by the fact that many of our staff have been with us for several years, which is often deemed unusual in our industry. We opened our Brixton Office in March 2007 (with fantastic timing as the world economy started to crash just 6 months later in September) but we’ve been going from strength to strength ever since. Our team and our directors have all lived in and love the areas they work in and that passion shows in everything we do. Why Brixton? Both Richard and Ajaye worked together in Brixton during the first real surge in its popularity way back in the 1990’s and both directors have actually lived in Brixton so they have a great understanding of the massive appeal of the area which seems to keep growing every year. Brixton director Ajaye believes that Brixton has been going through a radical change in recent years, with improvements such as the landscaping of ‘Windrush Square’ and the ‘emergence of ‘Brixton Village’ as just a couple of examples. Yet, Brixton has still retained its melting pot of cultures and provides a refreshing alternative compared to many towns in South West London. The fact that it has fantastic transport connections into the City, particularly its Victoria Line underground station, with just a 12 minutes journey to Oxford Circus and with over 20 bus routes passing through Brixton, you can understand why it’s becoming even more popular for those working in the City and West End, and actually let’s not forget, it even has a mainline station.

GoogleReview of the Real Estate Agency Unfortunately, our experience with this real estate agency was extremely disappointing. The managers, Anna and Kimberley, were well aware of our situation even before we placed the reservation. They knew that we could pay six months of rent upfront along with the deposit and that we did not have guarantors. Despite this, they agreed to take on our case, promising to help. However, during the process, the agency’s requirements became increasingly demanding. In the end, we were asked to either pay a full year’s rent upfront or provide guarantors, which was initially impossible for us. The result was that we had to withdraw from the rental agreement and lost the reservation deposit we had already paid. It gave the impression that the agency understood from the beginning that they wouldn’t be able to assist us but proceeded with the deal anyway, leading to unnecessary expenses and disappointment. We do not recommend this agency.

GoogleThe team at Eden Harper have done a great job at managing my flat, in particular Roshan who has been extremely responsive and dealt well with the random works / issues that crop up (damp, broken machinery etc). I couldn't recommend this team and Roshan any more!

GoogleWe had a horrible experience with Eden Harper. We rented a house with them and they did not meet the conditions we agreed in the contract. This caused a lot of troubles that resulted in them firing someone from their team. Months later the owner of the flat decided to sell the house and Eden Harper in order to make the best deal they were harassing us to leave the house so they could sell it with no tenants. They continuously thread us saying that we were not in our rights to stay in the house after the 1st eviction notice but we did not have a place to move. In summary, bad communication and a terrible experience that ended up as a nightmare. We never got compensated for all the troubles we went thought even after they admitted it was their fault

I dealt with Richard and Tom - they basically sorted everything out and walked me through each step along the way. They were across every detail - extremely efficient and helpful - nothing was too much trouble for them. GoogleTAKE PICTURES OF THE ENTIRE FLAT AS SOON AS YOU MOVE. EVERY SINGLE CORNER OF IT. We thought it was good at the beginning. They even gave us a welcome gift pack with a mattress protector.. Oh, how wrong we were. They just wanted to take as much money as they could from us. At the end they even charged us for that welcome "GIFT" pack. They tried to charge me some reference for my new agency even when that is ILLEGAL. When they have to give you back the deposit, they start to reply to your emails 2 O 3 days later. I can't deny that they help us at the beginning and it was good. But that is just to see you cry at the end

Hi Diego We were unaware you had any issue on leaving the flat so we're very sorry to see your poor review. As you are aware Eden Harper did not manage your tenancy so the deductions on your deposit were proposed by the Landlord. We were acting as a third party passing the information to you. You were entitled to dispute this at any time as you were informed however, but you happily agreed to the deductions. The welcome ‘GIFT’ pack was supplied by the Landlord not Eden Harper as again we did not manage the tenancy. We were lawfully entitled to request payment for an outgoing reference which you did not proceed with; If you entered in to a tenancy before the 1st June 2019, then the Landlord or Agent will still be able to charge fees up until 31 May 2020 under an existing contract.

Googlethis estate agent is how you do it. they have been my property managers for 7+ years now. and they are SUPERB. incredibly reasonable in fees, but more than that - yup - more than that! i have never had one problem. not one. if theres ever been anything that comes up, they reach out, let me know how they're solving it, then solve it. i will never leave them and am eternally grateful that in a sea of foxtons these absolute champs exist. thank you eden harper xoxo
