GoogleStyle over substance - Ocean’s Bishopston office is the epitome of this. Don’t let the swish office and cheap suits fool you - under the surface it’s obvious that this office is rife with disorganisation, a lack of communication and zero respect for its clients. During our 2 years renting a property from Ocean, we had the “pleasure” of 2 property “managers”. Both were more than useless - I can’t decide whether this was because they are absolutely inundated with a high workload, or because they simply couldn’t care less about the condition of the properties they let. Communication was slow and frustrating - we would often have to chase via email and phone call numerous times to resolve a problem. During our final 6 months in the property there was a substantial rat infestation in the cavity wall and attic of the property - the pest controller visited 6 times and failed to resolve the problem. The attitude of the property manager was that nothing more could be done and we had to live with it - an amazing lack of respect towards ourselves and the landlord of the property. If anything, this abysmal experience gave us a well needed kick to get out of renting and to buy a property - I’m so grateful that I no longer contribute £1000 a month towards a greedy landlord and an even more greedy letting agency.

With regards to the issues you experienced via Ocean property management, I’d like to reassure you of our best intentions at all times, our large team successfully manage over 1000 properties in Bristol, the role is to ensure the comfort of tenants in their home and to protect the assets of their Landlord clients. It is with sincere regret you feel we did not accomplish this on this occasion. The main issue of concern was understandably the rat infestation in the property eves and cavity walls. As you say, the Property Manager did arrange for the infestation contractor to visit on numerous occasions in the hope of resolving the matter, all attempts & results were fed back to the landlord, and on this occasion his instruction was not to complete the final works required at that time due to the sale of the property. Flawless Service!My partner and I recently purchased a property and we were needing to rent our property we were living in. The buying process was quick and easy as well as regular updates from Liz each week on the progress of the purchase. We also used Ocean for the rent out our property which was a great option. James and Jemima went above and beyond from start to finish to get our property filled with tenants. I appreciate the work they put in, due to it being late nights and not in normal workings hours. They were at the property for every viewing without fail. From our perspective this was flawless service and we are using them to manage the property also. Thanks again James and Jemima.

House hunting in Bristol can be daunting as all heck, in a constant state of checking ads, calling letting agents, making applications, all while it feels like your competition is half the city. Ocean has been by far the most attentive and supportive letting agency of the bunch! Particular shout out to Tommy who's always been on call to answer any questions and make sure that we're well informed every step of the way!

We had a great experience with Ocean Property Lawyers. They do convenancing for all properties, not just those sold by their estate agent. The price was competitive and good value for the service we received.Our solicitor was Karen who was fantastic from start to finish. She went out of her way to ensure the process went smoothly, in spite of a major blunder by our mortgage advisor. I think it's safe to say we wouldn't have managed to complete on time without her support.The assistant team were also responsive throughout (special shout out to Emily) and it was always easy to get hold of someone with any questions.I would highly recommend Karen and the Ocean team to anyone purchasing a property!

All the team were super helpful and supportive . They did an amazing job with the marketing and arranged for 23 viewings over a weekend of which ten put in offers.There were a few set backs along the way but the advice offered was very helpful. Before putting our house on the market we invited 3 Estate Agents to give valuations and discuss their terms of business. We chose Ocean because we liked Clare’s easy and clear communication and felt the valuation was realistic. Ocean were excellent throughout the whole process, particularly when there were numerous hitches further down in the chain causing unexpected delays. They kept us informed very regularly and were proactive in dealing with buyers solicitors and agents. The service felt personal, professional and supportive and they achieved a good price for us despite a fluctuating market. We would have no hesitation in using Ocean again and recommending them to others. Particular thanks to Jenny for her ongoing communication with regular email and telephone updates and advice.

Although I've only just started the process with Ocean Estate both Tommy and Will have been really friendly and genuinely seem happy to help me with any queries I have. Everything is resolved in a timely fashion with no hesitation and unlike other Estate/Lettings agents I've worked with, they seem like they actually want to provide a good service to their customers rather than using the market to stiff-arm tenants into agreements that suit them.

Steve and team were incredibly proactive in marketing the sale of my property, going above and beyond as I was trying to secure my onwards purchase - ecaluation on a Friday, photographer on the Monday and live on Rightmove on the Tuesday. The sales brochure and photographs were excellent. Ocean secured several offers on my property, with offer accepted 3 days after listing - working at an incredible pace. Perhaps most importantly, securing a very good price. Really personable and friendly team. Steve has always been very happy to help and provide advice on my onwards purchase, often out of hours - which has been much appreciated. Even better ifs for me, would be enhanced clarification of buyers positions; smoother handling of offers (such that it reduces the pressure on the seller) and a more proactive approach to the management of the end to end sale (as was adopted at onboarding/listing). GoogleOur experience with Ocean: We have been in a property managed by Ocean in Bishopston since 2019. In 2019 when we moved in we found out that the water from the bathroom from the first floor was going down to the kitchen in the ground floor, we have to clean and dry every time, it’s disgusting! We complained to have the issue fixed in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 we have complained many times, none of the staff managing the property seemed to care as now in 2023 we continue with the problem. We even contact Ocean director Paul Harris, we thought that contacting him, he would listen and try to tell his staff to act faster, but looks like he is even worse than his staff he cared even less. Talking by my experience, If you are a tenant: management service is terrible, if you have issues, or you fix and pay them yourself, or don’t expect that they would help with the problem. If you are a landlord: the management fees are way to high, other estate agents offer full management for less than 10% and better service. (Ocean avoid to send automatic replies in here to make you look good and to show that you care, because you are not. Ocean in Bishopston is aware of the issues, what they need to do is work more efficiently and fix tenant issues and not make tenants wait for years)

GoogleI can genuinely say that this has been the best interaction I have ever had with estate agents. We were buying our new home with Ocean, and we were more in touch with them than our own estate agents, and our solicitors! Over the period of 8 months, we went through a series of unforeseen events, and Bea was there for us every step of the way. She kept in regular contact with constant updates, solutions to problems, and providing me a shoulder to cry on at times. I honestly cannot express how helpful Bea was, and how much easier she made this (rather stressful) process. Thank you so much!
