Overall bad experience. Told me I could get a mortgage on my property to get me change estate agent and work with them, then told me straight after I couldn’t, sorry. No feedback after viewings. I had to call for feedback each time. To be spoken to as if I was hassling them. No specific contact but was passed on to several people within the short few months of working with them. Would not recommend

Excellent mortgage advice

This review is specifically about the mortgage advice we received as we didn't need an estate agent for our sale.Jamie Elvin from the Hove branch gave us incredible advice. Our circumstances were tricky and unusual - we were struggling to find a good mortgage with other online brokers and were against the clock. Jamie went above and beyond, searching for good solutions. I had a great experience with Fox and sons (Hove Church road) they were professional and extremely helpful. Every time I have a question or was unsure about anything they were very quick to get back via email. I would recommend fox’s and sons especially as new buyers and not knowing a lot about what needed to be done and when they helped through the whole process. I used Jamie Elvin the in house mortgage adviser who was also brilliant and really easy to work with, and Keira Jarvis was also amazing and really persistent in pushing through our sale. In the beginning I wasn't sure whether I should use a mortgage advisor at all, as previously I applied all by myself. Hence I was reluctant to say the least. I have to admit I was very wrong, one property failed another had to have two amendments, throughout the process Jack Johnson was exceptional, he was very patient, discussed with me the options and timelines, and to be honest I would have given up and missed the opportunity to be in my new home, if it wasnt with his help. Me and my girlfriend were desperate for someone to give us a chance for our own place, as it was difficult with a cat and a dog to find somewhere. Alex responded to one of our emails and she was lovely from start to finish. I cannot recommend Daniel the mortgage advisor enough!! He has helped us so so SO much over the past few months with our everchanging situation and he always supported us in the kindest, most knowledgeable and understanding ways. Hassle free sale of our home , sold in 4 weeks , property was on with pcm for 8 months I approached fox and sons they said they would do there best to sell in 4 weeks and they did , very happy with the service , I was congratulated immediately once I accepted an offer , very close to asking price I must thank Callum , Alex and Charles they have been very very helpful and always replied quickly to my calls and e mails , I used fox and Sons 22 years ago to buy the house and I had great service then and I just wish I had asked them before asking pcm as the house would of been sold months ago , but today I am very happy it’s finally sold with the professional company they are Ken Press

I can't believe how hard the staff in the lettings department worked to get my family and I into a 2 bedroom home. No stars would be more accurate

Edit: The service got even worse once we'd left. The Company left me with a number of examples where I had to contact Utility companies, because they lied about our Moving out date. I then found myself having to explain to several people that we had moved out in October 2019, not January 2020. This took several hours over many months. My credit rating was apparently affected, because I didn't know I was being left with bills that I shouldn't have. I would welcome any member of the company to contact me to discuss just how bad they were. I very rarely have the need to write a poor review of anyone, but I've never come across such an air of apathy from a company. At the start, they were very pleasant, and made a load of promises to get work done before we moved in. The house was filthy, and their representative (Mr Evans) promised my wife that a load of cleaning would be done. The garden would be tidied up, holes in the walls would be filled. The excess furniture would be removed. On arrival on the day we moved, nothing was done. My wife was extremely upset (Rancid milk ground into all the carpets downstairs, thick film of grease and filth in the kitchen, dirty toilets and bathroom. Cooker filthy and not working, Garden was a mess, Furniture that should have been removed was still there, etc etc. This was not vaguely dirty, but FILTHY) My wife contacted the Company Representative, who did nothing. When I eventually complained further up the chain, it was turned around so that it was our fault for not formally requesting that stuff be done. The flippancy of the lady that dealt with the complaint was beyond contempt. When I make a promise that is something will be done, when I'm representing my Company, I make sure it is done. This was definitely not the case with Fox And Sons. Having moved out, we now find that we are likely to lose a large portion of our Security Deposit because they are now blaming us for damage that was caused long before we had moved in. We are rather relieved to have now moved out, and even more relieved that we will never have to deal with this company again. There are many estate Agents, and Letting agents that work extremely hard for their clients. This isn't one of them. I expect my Secure Deposit to be taken from us, as it would appear that their primary objective is to take as much as they can from the market. Exactly as expected, we have been blamed for long term neglect and damage to the property that were there long before we moved in. We have photographs from the week we moved in, and will process an appeal, but I fully expect that it will be ignored. If truth be told, all we want now is to move forward and not have to deal with these people ever again. As the title says, NO STARS would be a more accurate appraisal.

I do not recommend Fox & Sons

The Hove office handled my mortgage four years ago. I had to pay a fee which I was told told was a lifetime fee for future services.The original agent I dealt with did an excellent job but has since left so I was left with Jack who called to remind me of my re-mortgage and incorrectly deduced that it was due a year earlier than it was. No matter, fast forward to this year and I'm told I need to download an identity/security app, Credas, send a bunch of paperwork and payslips in order to get my mortgage going.A couple of days later. he says there will be a delay because my name, Francis, brought up questions. *Shrug*Having heard nothing for a few days, I sent a reminder asking for updates. I got an email back saying due to "certain circumstances, they were unable to find a lender and they could no longer help"No explanation, no further feedback. That "lifetime fee" I paid sure came in handy eh?I wouldn't use F&S again if they paid me.
