I am executor of my late mum's estate and engaged Gibbins Richards to handle the sale of mum's house after having met Tom Hopkins at the property. Although originally from Bridgwater, I live in Wiltshire now so Tom's local knowledge was invaluable. A realistic selling price was set resulting in an offer which was both quick and acceptable. Tom and his colleague, Nicola Eveleigh came across as professional and friendly, making the process much easier than it might otherwise have been for my sister and myself in these difficult months following mum's passing. We have just sold in Bridgwater through Gibbens Richards. We spoke to 3 companies before making our selection including a well known internet based company. We chose Gibbins Richards as they had excellent photos online, a realistic commission as well as a more likely sale price recommendation. Once we had accepted an offer, Sue our main point of contact kept us regularly updated with progress and Ben was able to answer questions when she Sue was out. We feel we would have probably achieved a quicker house move and a higher selling price on our house if our choice of estate agent was different. Also we felt that on many occasions the agency was unprofessional as there was no consideration of our circumstances when booking viewings which were made clear in the beginning, being pressured into choosing a specific solicitor and pushed to agree on a very low house offer considering all other houses in the area were selling in excess. The only good points we can say are that Gibbins Richards are quick at putting your house on the market and take lovely photos of the property. Unfortunately every other step of the way we felt the support and advise were lacking and we were not represented with the professionalism and respect we should have been through the whole process (when dealing with the sales progressor the majority of our journey was siding with our buyers side rather than having ours! The only time we had her support was in the end when the chain was on the verge of collapsing!). Overall we are unsatisfied with the service received by the agency.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

We used Gibbins Richards for our sale and purchase and I was impressed. They answered the phone each and every time I rang and if promised a call back, one would be received within the promised time frames. Ben was our initial point of contact, having come to our home to carry out a valuation, as well as take all property information. Once our property was on the market, Sue had taken over to deal with our purchase as well as sale through them. She was prompt with her replies and when it came down to agreeing dates for exchange and completion, she was chasing all parties regularly to ensure it suited everyone. All within GR&Co have been terrific and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Thank you for all your help in getting us into our lovely new home!
