Unprofessional and pushy

Foxtons is not a scam company, but they are unprofessional. Don't get fooled by the good ratings: they explicitly message you and ask to write a good review (see all the reviews naming specific agents). When trying to schedule viewings in your rental they use tactics like threatening to talk to the landlord, call repeatedly, and switching to opt out instead of explicit approval so they can just show up at your doorstep if you don't reply in time; all this despite the contract explicitly limiting viewings to specific times and prior approval. On top many of their agents are very unorganized. Showing up without keys and calling you while at work to let them in. Not talking to each other to coordinate multiple viewings etc. I lived in 10+ apartments over the last 10 years and never had such an experience before.

I had a really good experience with Moin when I was looking to buy a house. He was very patient and helped me a lot throughout the whole process. I had lots of questions, and he was always willing to answer them. He always took the time to understand what I was looking for and suggested houses that were a good match. I recently worked with a few different estate agents during my property search in Willesden, and Jack at Foxtons really stood out. While some agents felt rushed or less professional, Jack was the complete opposite, polite, patient, and calm throughout the process. Asghar from Foxtons Willesden Green has been absolutely fabulous! I am looking to rent a place and not only did he promptly reply (within maybe 30 minutes of me making an enquiry!) he also did a fantastic job during the viewings. As someone who doesn't do this often, my specifications were very vague going in and I was met with nothing but understanding. He made me feel at ease from the start (which is very rare for me!) and happily answered all my questions and helped me narrow in on what I actually want while touring different properties. He was always friendly, helpful, respectful and never pushy. Can only recommend him and this agency for your next flat hunt too!

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Based on my experience, I would advise new landlords to be extremely cautious with Foxtons. The agent’s explanations of commission and contract terms were unclear, and I ended up in a lengthy dispute over unexpected fees. Which is escalated to ombudsman and will probaly go to the court. Never trust a word of Foxton's agents. Always insist on written communication and carefully review all documents before signing. I would not recommend Foxtons to others based on my experience.
