However, I would like to clarify that our letting process is designed to ensure fairness and transparency for all applicants. Every application is put forward to a landlord for the landlord to choose who they wish to proceed with. On this occasion, the property was very popular and there were 28 people wishing to view the property. 10 People were successful in securing viewings in the first round of viewings and 9 of these put forwards applications to rent the property after their viewing. Regarding your specific situation, it's important to note that while you expressed your interest in the property, the final decision came from the landlord. The application they chose, offered over the asking rent, offered to pay the rent upfront and had a greater joint earning of over £75,000 pa. I must also note that these applicants were not English and the landlord has not discriminated against you. We’d like to clarify that until a tenancy agreement is signed, both landlords and prospective tenants have the right to withdraw from the process. This is standard practice across the lettings industry and is clearly outlined in the documentation provided during the application stage. In your case, all necessary steps were being followed diligently, including the processing of your references and guarantor application. Unfortunately, the landlord made the decision to withdraw the property, which, while regrettable, was outside of our control. You were informed promptly, in writing, as per our policy to ensure there is a clear and timely record of communication. We must also take this opportunity to state that Amanda acted professionally and in line with our company procedures. Personal attacks on our staff are not appropriate and do not reflect the high standards we aim to maintain for all clients and applicants. We do understand your frustration, and we genuinely wish the outcome had been different.
