TrustpilotComical agency who take no responsibility for their actions
I've had an experience which was almost comical in how incompetent these guys were along the way.Things this agency has decided they don't need to do:- Have keys to their properties- Collect rent from tenants- Check tenants are actually living in their properties- Follow their own proceduresThings this agency has decided it will do:- Blame everybody else when things go wrong- Claim they're "trying to find a way forward" then when asked what that is have no answer- Lie about having end of tenancy check outs booked in- Establish a tenant is in possession of a property by "looking through the window" only after receiving complaints about their actions.A weirdly dodgy agency who seem set up to block the truth at every turn & blame everybody & everything else when things go wrong. Somehow managing to avoid any consequences to their own actions. Very good at throwing their clients under the bus, not good at managing rental properties.

TrustpilotRent - don’t fix issues
Have lived in a rented property for 4 years (Middlesbrough) and had nothing but problems. Reported issues regarding leaking roof, mold and a large window that doesn’t lock (security risk), on numerous occasions. Had visits made. Reported again and still having issues. As the landlord agreed to repair damages bridgfords “can’t help” apparently even though I pay them. Landlord won’t fix them so what exactly am I meant to do? I would think that Bridgefords should fix the issues and claim the money from the landlord. I should not be dealing with this over 4 years. Do not rent through this company, they have no follow up. Reported the issue AGAIN yesterday.*(11/2021) moved from here after 7 years; still no repairs. Flat now uninhabited. Had the nerve to say WE caused some damage! Would not return bond, didn’t even look back, glad to be out of their chain. Disgusting

TrustpilotViewing inefficiency
Rang Crewe branch to request viewing: left voicemail and sent email to same effect. 24 working hours later, no response. Rang again to get v/mail. Maybe this is unrepresentative experience... or maybe their staff are failing timefully to respond to buyers. This inefficiency is precisely what angers sellers, who may lose sales because potential buyers view, and offer, on rival properties they are considering with other agents.I would expect all calls and emails are responded to within 24 working hours - and that agents explicitly undertake to do this. If their staffing is affected by illness they need to state on auto email reply/v/mail that they regret their response may be slower than normal and when they *will* respond ('within 48 hours', etc).

GoogleThis was the first time I had used a property auction company and I have to say that Town and Country exceeded my expectations during a difficult period of lockdown for the country as a whole.
The staff in the Bournemouth office were responsive, helpful and easy to get hold of. They helped me deal with some delays which were out of both mine and their hands due to the global slow down caused by Covid-19 in a timely and efficient manner.
I got the impression at all times that they were genuinely working hard on my behalf and as a result of this experience I would most certainly recommend them and would use their services again myself without hesitation.

GoogleFantastic and professional. Introduction to the service was explained clearly and given time to go ahead. At no time felt pressured to take up Town and Country's services. Once committed I was kept fully informed and was very happy with the number of viewings prior to the auction and their diligent handling of each viewing. Excellent service from Tracey with the coordinating, Matthew with viewings and especially from Nick all round and the auction achieved better than I expected. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

GoogleI would like to share the amazing experience I’ve had with Mathew and Tracey of Town and country property auctions. They have both been very helpful, pleasant and responsive with dealing with all my queries and requirements regarding their properties. Always prompt and never complaining whatever is chucked at them in terms of pressure. They put me at ease once we began interacting and I have trusted them both since to deliver. I recommend them both highly and would go to them again if needed.

GoogleAfter I contacted Town & Country property auctions, a meeting on site was agreed immediately. Good advice was given to me and a reserve price was agreed at the meeting, so the property details appeared on Town and Country’s website very quickly and they made all the necessary arrangements. Any queries I had, were again, dealt with very quickly and effectively, my property was sold and the whole process took just over a month. I found Town and Country to be very helpful and professional and have no hesitation in recommending their services.

TrustpilotZero focus on the customer
Zero focus on the customer. Just find somebody else, particularly if you are a landlord letting a property. The applicant vetting process they do isn't fit for purpose and I was left with an "approved" applicant who should never have passed any reasonable vetting process and consequent rent arrears. I asked to speak to their CEO seven times and all I eventually got was a letter saying he would not be calling me. They just aren't bothered.

TrustpilotNo show
We arranged for Jonathon, the manager, from the Swinton branch to come out and value our property for rent & sale. We agreed a time to meet at the property as we don’t live there anymore and Jonathan didn’t show up. Called 3 times and no one answered. Rude and no respect for anyone else’s time.

Really appaling level of service as a tenant - wrongly accused us of being in arrears three times in 12 months and tried to take £1150 from our deposit. No apology, sometimes just didn't reply to messages and treated us as if we were trying to swindle them! Matthew Healey particularly condescending and bad customer service. I would say to avoid this company at all costs - you'll regret going with them because once they've got your money they won't care.

TrustpilotMove from Edinburgh to York during Covid
I lived in Edinburgh and was trying to re-locate during the start of Covid. I was unable to buy in York to co-inside with my sale so I had to find a let. Lauren and Emily from Bridgefords helped me to do that explaining all the steps and helping to take some of the stress away. Also managing to re-let the property once I found somewhere to buy. Very friendly and helpful even though I know they were extremely busy.

TrustpilotDeeply unethical letting agent
Deeply unethical letting agent, even by industry standards. During our tenancy we maintained the property to a high standard and did not miss a single payment during a three year period. Whenever an issue arose with the house (inc. but not limited to broken boilers, faulty fixtures and broken utilities) they would delay as long as feasibly possible on behalf of the landlord, leaving us without equipment we were paying for. Upon leaving the property, they (and by extension their holding company Countrywide) arbitrarily raised a number of questionable charges against us at exorbitant rates and did not adjust charges when we proved a number of them unfounded. We are currently in the process of disputing the charges with a third party and their conduct continues to be unprofessional, as they delayed official response until the latest possible juncture. In my experience all letting agents will provide their own frustrations, but this company is not to be trusted.

TrustpilotGross greed/incompetence
If I could give this business zero stars, I would. Poor customer service, blatant lies about the flat being refurbished and an astronomically slow response time in getting issues in the flat fixed. The flat we were moved into that was promised to be refurbished before moving in but it was in a completely disgusting state. Taking advantage of the covid situation by not letting us physically look around the flat prior to moving in and only providing a video tour. The flat was barely cleaned, there was missing lightbulbs, decayed furniture, mould and pigeon faeces covering balcony. How does a letting agent let all these problems slip through the net? Its either greed to get tenants in ASAP or just gross incompetence. I honestly don't know which is worse. To top this all off Bridgford knowingly let us move into a flat with dangerous electricity. Without us alerting them to the problem they'd have never fixed this. Just absolutely disgusting service. Don't use these conmen if you're a tenant because you blatantly dont matter to them, its just about taking your rent and deposit.I implore anybody to avoid them at all cost.

TrustpilotI rated one star as couldn't write comments with ZERO stars
I rated one star as couldn't write a review with zero stars. Terrible service! E mailed to say I had an interest in a property...no reply! Rang agent to say I'd had no reply, got an apology they hadn't got around to my email. I was the first person to express an interest in a rental property. I was told I'd get a video of the property...Guess what still waiting. Arranged a viewing for Saturday at 1:30pm. Got a call from agent Saturday morning, very flippant, ah sorry your viewing will have to be cancelled. Why I asked, because someone has secured a let! I asked why could I not have been contacted to ask if I wanted to view the property before Saturday as I expressed an interest first. Apparently it's not their job. I then got attitude and pretty much was made to feel it was MY fault because I'd arranged the viewing for Saturday...absolute disgrace!

TrustpilotWe have rented a lovely apartment…
We have rented a lovely apartment through the tynemouth branch and the staff we really good and everything went smoothly and we r really happy with that. However the agent asked if he could pass my number to an agent to discuss energy suppliers. Foolishly we said yes. We were telephoned twice and each time said we had decided to go through British Gas and never thought anything more about it. A few weeks later I had a text from SSE saying my gas and electric bill needed paying. Then received a letter from British Gas saying they were sorry we decided to switch energy supply ( we hadn’t) rang SSE and after many hours of stress telling them I hadn’t switched to SSE( awful company to deal with they never ring back when they say they will) it turns out that the agent who rang us had switched our energy supplier even tho we said we didn’t want to. This has caused us so much stress and hassle and I am really very upset. We are still trying to sort.

TrustpilotBrigfords Blackburn Branch - AVOID!!!
Brigfords can certainly talk the talk, but as soon as your agreement is signed and your money is locked in, you can kiss goodbye to any shred of good customer service. They caused us nothing but stress throughout the sale of our property. We found ourselves constantly chasing them for information, and worst of all, concocted a story to place blame on our buyers for the delay in our sale, which we later found out was due to their own incompetency! Important information was withheld from us that threatened the sale of our property. They couldn't even stick to the price they agreed for their services from word go. Absolute shambles of a company who should be disgusted!

TrustpilotI am a Home Owner in an apartment…
I am a Home Owner in an apartment block, I have lived in my property 13 years. The property above me is rented out, Bridgefords thought putting 3 young children under 5 in with there mother. I have nearly had a nervous breakdown due to extensive noise, men in and out the above property, being threatened off the neighbour above and her friend. Because I asked for them to tone it down as I have work in the morning. I had to move out my property for 3 mths until she was evicted. Bridge fords didn’t give a damn, they promised my neighbours and I they wouldn’t put children in again. We all work in the block and need our sleep, unlike the neighbour every day was a weekend for her drinking. Well here we are again 3 kids again under 5, no where to play and been with me up at 6 in the morning. This Lettings agent is a disgrace.

Landlords - Avoid Avoid AvoidThis company needs to be avoided at all costs, it will end up costing you a great deal of money. You will be charged for items that you have not agreed to to. You will be charged for work you specifically requested NOT to be done and you will be charged above market rates. They are made up of many different companies and each does not know what the other is doing.Complaints are not responded to and they will happily incur costs on your behalf.
