Very stressful and complicated house move that's taken 7 months! Experience was made easier by both Lois and Matt who not only gave helpful advice, kept the whole chain up to date but provided a huge amount of support. We got there in the end and move on Friday and I could not have asked for better service.

Updated review (still five stars). Selling a house is always challenging especially if you don’t do it often! Trying to find the right help is key. After some research and a shortlist of 3 local independents, we instructed Intercounty in Bishops Stortford to handle our sale. A true team effort with some evident heavy lifting from Olivia, Charlie and Harry. Houses, however well presented, don’t sell themselves and after a blizzard of viewings, the virtual ‘Sold STC’ board went up after just 9 days. Phase two of the journey kicked off with the valuation and homebuyers survey, which passed without incident, followed by the legal Q&As. We followed the progress of the sale on Intercounty’s My Move tracker with the enthusiastic Doug updating his useful bar chart. 42 days since the house went on the market, we exchanged.

We are really disappointed to read what wonderful service everyone seems to have had from Inter County BS as this was not our experience at all! The communication was dreadful, Doug the "super progressor" only contacted us once and got all the information wrong, after which we didn't hear from him again & were told he was usually good but was snowed under, not our problem! The Branch Manager took over our account but wasn't much better and eventually we were "helped" by the Area Director. When we complained we were offered a paltry amount of compensation considering the fee charged & the lack of support we received. I would say that if you are lucky you might get good service, we were obviously unlucky and ended up doing most of the sorting out & chasing ourselves! We were VERY disappointed with the service we received so in all honesty couldn't recommend them.

So having finally exchanged on our sale and purchase I can honestly say our first positive impressions of intercounty have been proven correct. Not only have we been impressed by Will, Helen and Charlie in the sales team but also by Doug the sales progresser. Doug did a great job in keeping everyone connected and was the glue between the cracks in what was a tricky experience at times. Using Intercounty to sell our home has been a great decision. I can only celebrate their professionalism, customer care and support. We would throughly recommend them.

I was really impressed and happy with the service provided by Intercounty at the beginning of the sale. William did a great job at selling, and my property sold really quickly. The communication at this point was also fantastic, with Will calling to confirm different bits and pieces. However the after sale with Doug was disappointing to say the least. I heard nothing from them for 2 and a half weeks after the sale was agreed, all information was received through my solicitor, who has been fantastic throughout. The communication I have had has been slow and pushed from me, I have had at least 3 phone calls not returned, meaning I have had to consistently follow up on inquiries. The information Doug did have was often outdated and not new information or on a couple of occasions incorrect. The sale should have been quick and easy, unfortunately what should and could have been completed in 6/7 weeks took 10 weeks. I believe this was in part down to the slowness of the after sales team. Thankfully William sold my property and the sale has now been completed, however for the high fee charged and the poor after sales communication I would be hesitant to use them again.
