GoogleJust to express my gratitude to the team at Intercounty Bishops Stortford for selling my late parents home at Albury, never an easy task dealing with these things after a bereavement but everything was taken care of sensitively by William Jobber, Doug Whybrow, Charlie Cummins, Lisa Carpenter, Kristy Grimstone and Jake Morley on viewings plus others I’m embarrassed to say, names escape me at this moment but all were outstanding. It wasn’t entirely straight forward, is anything ever ? But all obstacles to the sale were dealt with as quickly and as reasonably as could be expected and at the finish I do believe that this much loved property was sold to the most suitable and deserving buyers. So, from my point of view, a job well done. Thank you Intercounty Bishops Stortford.

GoogleThis horrible experience came back to me as I drove past Intercounty the other day. My partner and I were looking to rent a property from them back in April this year. Natasha had seemed pleasant at first, however that changed after we questioned her actions and the money she'd happily taken wouldn't be returned to us as she didn't do her research properly. Thankfully PM Estates were able to help us out very satisfactorily and we found a property soon after. Unfortunately it was Natasha's poor understanding of lettings, her arrogance and stubbornness that meant we'd been left out of pocket and incurred other delay costs too. Hugely disappointing experience and put me off Intercounty completely.

After that, I was supported by Reece Knight and Sheli, and both were excellent throughout the process. They were always very responsive, and whenever I called the office, my queries were handled promptly and professionally.
Sheli, in particular, stood out, she was incredibly understanding, proactive, and always followed up to make sure all my questions were answered. Her support really made a difference.

As a first-time buyer, my experience with this estate agency was extremely disappointing. During a purchase that later fell through, I received frequent calls pressuring me to chase my solicitor and suggesting I was holding up the sale. One agent even described my solicitor as “useless” and implied we were not progressing matters properly. Months later it became clear that my solicitor had done everything correctly and that the delays were actually related to the sellers and their solicitors. Unfortunately, by that point the purchase had collapsed and I had lost around £1,000 in solicitor fees.
When I later returned to view other properties with the same agency, the first comment made was “poor sellers”, with no acknowledgement of my previous experience. During viewings I also felt I wasn’t taken seriously as a buyer. Despite having proof of funds from my mortgage broker, I was treated as though I couldn’t afford certain properties. As a 25-year-old buyer, the overall experience felt dismissive and patronising rather than supportive.
Buying your first home should be an exciting milestone, but unfortunately my experience with this agency was frustrating and disheartening.

We have since spoken with you directly regarding this matter and, while we fully respect your right to share your perspective, we do not recognise all aspects of the experience as described.
Throughout the transaction, our intention was to keep all parties informed and to help progress matters as efficiently as possible. Where delays arise, it is standard practice for us to encourage buyers and sellers to liaise with their solicitors, as they are best placed to provide detailed updates on the legal process. This is part of ensuring communication remains active across the chain, rather than attributing fault.
Property transactions can unfortunately be complex, and delays can occur for a variety of reasons outside of an agent’s control, particularly within the legal process. While we work hard to support progress, we do not have full visibility of, or influence over, the work being carried out by solicitors on either side.
That said, I am sorry to hear that your subsequent interactions left you feeling uncomfortable or not taken seriously. This is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver, and your comments have been taken seriously and shared with the team to ensure we reflect and improve where needed.
We do regret that your purchase did not proceed and understand the frustration that comes with that. We would very much welcome the opportunity to support you in securing your next home and to demonstrate the high level of service and care we strive to provide to every customer.
