From our first meeting with Jack Simpson, it was clear that he offers a very different proposition from the disappointing experiences we had had with some of his local competition in Bournville. Jack is straightforward and open, with none of the usual promises of unrealistic asking prices. Everything he did for us involved going the extra mile, from taking excellent photos to attentive relationship management with our buyers. And all the while he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We bought and sold a house through Wentworth & Rose in Harborne at the beginning of 2019. We had seen a property we were interested in that W&R were the agents for, so we decided to sell through them to make the process easier. Our experience of using W&R was brilliant. We dealt with Jack, one of the Directors. Throughout the whole process Jack kept in regular contact, keeping us updated on what was happening in the chain, which we really appreciated. At times we felt our solicitor was quiet, so Jack helped fill the gap, kept us updated, kept us calm and helped manage expectations. When any issue arose, Jack was there to help us deal with it and help find a solution. When you are in a long chain, you really need a good agent to help manage it, and we felt Jack did a great job. I would certainly recommend W&R, especially over other local agents such as Oulsnam, who we felt were unhelpful.

Extremely rude since moving in.They did not do any maintenance and left all issues unattended. We were constantly living in a hellhole with unstable electricity supply. They didn't reply to email and hung up bluntly on the phone. Once moving out they attempted to extort the whole deposit but fortunately they failed miserably. They still call me occasionally and speak foul language.It is a kinda harrassment.I blacklist and block its phone number. For the best of your interests,do avoid any contact with this agency. They are criminals. Be aware of the deceptively positive reviews here.They create accounts and write them on their own. It is way better to see the reviews on Trustpilot.

Renting an apartment at the beginning from Wenthworth &Rose was the start of the disaster. Upon entering the apartment,i realised there were 2 electricity meters that i was never told at any points i met the agent.Therefore i had to fork out 2 standing charges which were grossly unfair. Throughout my tenancy ,the agent were totally lethargic when i faced any issues,in particular related to maintenance. The landlord was lethargic and unresponsive as well.He showed outright disregard for the property. Whenever any issues were raised,i received no or belated response ,always resulting in further damage. I was fed up with such a horrendous living environment and decided to move out. Once i moved out, i was told to lose all deposit.Fortunately i had each and every evidence of their atrocious behavior,TDS ruled a fair decision and i retrieved most of the deposit after a long battle. Because of their unscrupulous behavior and in collusion with landlords to rob you of the deposit, you must avoid this agency at all costs. Even if you buy a house from this agency, they must give you a problematic property.They do have no moral principles or integrity. In the meantime they are trying to create deceptively positive review.So beware of the scam or trap. Remember, NOT to have any transaction or be in any contact with this agency.They give you horrible if not intimidating experience without any shadow of doubt.

Very friendly to begin with - couldn’t be more helpful and replies were prompt. However, once we’d signed and paid they couldn’t care less. We lived in the apartment for a year and a repair (which they said was being dealt with) was still an issue when we finally left. Mould and damp damaged our furniture, clothes and health. Failed to tell us about rules regarding what furniture we could and couldn’t put outside and then blamed us for not asking even though it was not mentioned in our tenancy agreement and we were never passed on building rules - this lead to a lot of money being wasted on things that we couldn’t then use/have. The icing on the cake was that they have no idea of tenant/landlord rules. They refused to give us our landlords name and an address (something legally they have to - a simple Google search shows this). We had to get Birmingham Council involved and they threatened legal action and still they just refused. Their response was just to ignore us and wait out the remaining time we had left in our contract. They couldn’t even do viewings properly when we were moving out as they didn’t have a key and suggested we leave work or give them one of ours - multiple viewings wasted time going to an appointment just to see the front door. Luckily we are somewhere much nicer which a much better letting agency and will avoid them at all costs in the future - I suggest everyone do the same! The one positive thing I will say is that Chelsie was always friendly and helpful. If you are unfortunate to get any other staff good luck - particularly Madeline who was beyond unprofessional.
