Having had my house on the market with a different agency for 6 months, I contacted Rice Chamberlains firstly for a valuation to confirm that it was being marketed at the correct price, but also to see what insight they had to get engagement going again, and the house ultimately sold. I met with James in the first instance who assured me that the pricing was in the right ball park, and although he seemed perplexed as to why the property hadn't sold, he also seemed quietly confident in their ability to get the job done. We proceeded and immediately it became clear that they had a more professional way of doing things. From the photo/video suite & e-contract software to the regular communication throughout, proactively chasing solicitors and other parties, as well as each staff member that I spoke to having a handle on things so that they could provide updates, I was completely satisfied. In the end, my eventual buyer submitted a reduced offer post-survey, which I was happy to concede due to the length of time the property had been marketed over all, but James pushed back and went on to negotiate a price somewhere in the middle, which ultimately saved me £2,500. From the point of contacting them through to completion, the process took 2.5 months and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

AVOID RENTING 80 MIDLAND ROAD B30 2EY! We had a rat infestation, no working bath water supply, water leaks through ceilings, no back garden gate access and mould throughout the house. The Bournville branch were awful in managing these concerns. Staff couldn't be less bothered if they tried. They were unsupportive of us (tenants) when dealing with a neglectful landlord who took the majority of our deposit for no justifiable reason. Terrible response rate and overall poor attitudes from most members of staff.

I would not know where to begin with how fab Rice Chamberlain were in both the sale and purchase of our new house. We met James long before we actually put our house on the market and we were immediately sure we wanted them to be our agents. He has great local knowledge and is always clear and honest in his communications. The service, brochures, viewings etc. were excellent. It took us a long time to find our new home, and James kept in regular contact over a period of many months, always sending us new listings and keeping an eye out for anything we may like - his commitment was above and beyond and we eventually found our house through them! We hired Rice Chamberlains to sell our house after considering several other estate agents, we were very impressed by their professionalism, honesty and friendly approach. No hard sell, no unrealistic overpromising and nothing felt "sales-y" or impersonal. We were originally unsure about an agent conducting our viewings, but they did an extremely good job and the house was sold quite quickly. We've been renting through Rice Chamberlain for a year and a half. They actually just blatantly ignore our emails. They take so much money from us but do so little. They are also dishonest, they have promised many times that repairs will be done and then they never follow through. The house we rent is in disrepair and poorly maintained, but there is nothing we can do about it- they don’t care. They are taking money from both landlord and renter and not fulfilling their duty to either. I emailed them to say we are being sent mail intended for the Landlord; but they never come to collect it. They do not care about their job.
