They know the local area minutely, have an established reputation and a fully-staffed office with a great team. We can't speak highly enough of the team at Rice. They were always diligent, responsive and worked incredibly hard to get our rather long and tricky chain completed. I chose Rice Chamberlains to sell for me, and I was extremely pleased that I did. Right from the first visit from the Rice Chamberlain’s agent (James Llewellyn), to discuss my options, I felt they were very professional. Everything was done in an efficient way, and they kept me up to date with what was happening. The house I was selling was my father’s house, after he died. I didn’t actually want to sell the house, but circumstances did not permit me to keep it, so it was a very traumatic and stressful time for me. I explained this to James from the outset, and it was very clear that he understood what I was going through. I felt supported throughout the selling process, and never pushed to do anything before I was ready to do it. Whenever I phoned Rice Chamberlains, the person I spoke to knew the situation with the sale, and could update me, but if I wanted to speak to a particular person, a message was left for that person to phone me back, which they always did. It was clear they were not just about selling houses, but also about care for the people involved. If I had another house to sell, I would definitely go to Rice Chamberlains without any hesitation.

Moving house after 18 years in the home our children grew up in felt like a huge step for us but the team at Rice Chamberlain in Bournville were brilliant from the outset. Our initial visit from James was very reassuring and he took great photos to showcase our home at its best. Both Aimee and Matt managed the viewings really well with great communication to keep us informed. There were disappointments along the way but the team were calm and reassuring, managing offers with great experience. We can’t thank them enough for helping us with our house move and we would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of selling or buying in the area.

We first started our house selling/buying process with Rice Chamberlains back in April 2024, when we saw a wonderful house that they were selling. We made a full and final offer that was accepted by the seller. We then put our house on the market with them. During this initial process, all of the members of Rice Chamberlains (James, Matt, Aimee and Karen) were fully supportive and helpful. Fast forward almost a year and we were on our 3rd buyer and our second property to buy and heading speedily towards the April Stamp Duty rise. Needless to say that there had been many hurdles we had to overcome and many upsets and disappointments. Throughout this period, we knew we could rely on honest and expert advice on what steps to take (and NOT take). In particular, James and Matt were very open about our situation at various points and answered our questions. I'm sure that there must have been times (like us) when Rice Chamberlain felt like jumping ship - but they didn't. Particular mention for Matt, during the last couple of weeks of the process, where there were some crazy events happening from different directions in the chain. He stuck with it and went above and beyond. I'm pretty sure that, if he hadn't, then the whole chain may well have collapsed. So, thanks again, Rice Chamberlain team. We totally recommend your professionalism and your levels of service. The best on the block.

Moving house has to be one of the most stressful things that you go through in life so when you instruct an estate agent you hope that everything is going to go as smoothly as possible. Fortunately for us we decided to use Rice Chamberlain to help us sell our house and they were excellent. At every stage of the sale James was open, honest and did what he said he was going to do quickly and efficiently. As I had been searching for a property for some time due to other agents poor service, it was very refreshing to find estate agents that were still prepared to be honest, and helpful, whilst selling properties. The service from Rice Chamberlain estate agent was excellent, from start to finish. The telephone was always answered, and staff were always polite and ready to assist. Property viewings were conducted professionally allowing time for additional questions. Any questions needing later clarification were answered as accurately and as quickly as possible. All necessary communications between agents, solicitors and other parties, were carried out efficiently, with regular updates provided. Although this is a small Family like Business they managed things in such a way it minimised the stress of finding And purchasing my new home. Wanted to share my experience thus far of renting a property from Rice Chamberlain in terms of maintenance as often overlooked once a property is rented/bought. The team are fantastic, always quick to respond and importantly, communicative throughout. A special mention to Maisy Smith and her team as our boiler cut out leaving us without hot water and a 2 year old to look after. Maisy quickly engaged the landlord and had it repaired within 24 hours, at all times keeping us up to date with the maintenance team. Really happy with the service Rice Chamberlain are supplying us , would highly recommend if you are considering a property for rental.

Summary - Knowledgeable, professional, communicative. We've just sold our house with Rice Chamberlains and the thing that stood out all the way through was their deep understanding of the market and of the process. When James valued our house he suggested a figure that would attract interest and was tailored to our specific house on our specific road, a micro market within a market pitched at a level that he knew would sell. Within days we had multiple offers over asking and only a week after we went to market we accepted an offer well above what we could have dreamt of before we put the house up for sale. The various bumps in the road you inevitably encounter when selling were smoothed out by Sophie, James, Matt, Aimee, and the rest of the team. Their hard work and constant communication meant we always felt in the know. Often they'd flag possible issues to us well before they had arisen. We were guided through every step of the process without ever feeling pressured. We also bought the house with them originally and I can say the process was just as good from that side of it, so whilst they look after their sellers brilliantly they also take good care of their buyers too.
